[edit]Should I create a separate list article or a collapsed table instead?
[edit]Hi. I am about to include a table of administrative divisions of the province of Ilocos Sur containing data figures such as population counts, area and other useful information. But I do not know if I should:
- Create a separate list article instead (because the province has 32 towns and 2 cities, and including it in the existing Ilocos Sur article would make it too long).
- Include the long table in the Ilocos Sur article by using a collapsible table (which is collapsed by default). The collapsed table would not 'interfere' with other entries in the Ilocos Sur page unless the [show] button is clicked.
Any advice please on what I should do? Sanglahi86 (talk) 01:37, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

Complex table syntax question
[edit]I'm at my wits end trying to unravel the complex table syntax for an ongoing project. I need help. Basically, I want to create a collapsible, non-sortable table with alternating background colors in each row to better ease readability without having to resort to using borders. I have all the table info in my sandbox, but I need help with the syntax problems I mentioned. Please help. -- Veggies (talk) 03:42, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- View the history. I did some cleanup with detailed edit summaries, then added some alternating rows and collapse. I did one with the table expanded by default and one collapsed: make your choice. -- Gadget850 talk 10:32, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks. I was wondering if there was a CSS solution involving "nth-child" parameters or something to make tables simple without having to go row by row. I would like to make some rather long tables in the future and it would be easy to be able to code them as I would if making a webpage. -- Veggies (talk) 16:08, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- Just a thought – the whole table could be clearer, and slightly smaller, if you had just one "time" column, with all the times in it. Maproom (talk) 10:50, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- I agree and I'm still split on whether to do that or leave it as close to the original format as possible. I may change it up in the future before I put it in articlespace. -- Veggies (talk) 16:08, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
Need your help
[edit]I lost the password to my account, joey13952, and i don't have an e-mail address set for it. What do i do now? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.7.159.45 (talk) 04:55, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- Post up at the Administrator's Noticeboard, they may be able to help you with this matter. No guarantees but it's worth a shot. RegistryKey(RegEdit) 05:33, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- I think you will have to start again with a different account name. Help:Logging in#What if I forget the password? mentions one or two special cases where recovery may be possible, but I don't think they apply to you. -- John of Reading (talk) 08:31, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

- I don't know what you refer to but it sounds like there is no problem. PrimeHunter (talk) 12:32, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
Shorten the diffs, and redirect HTTPS to HTTP
[edit]- I want to shorten diff links. For example can I convert them to a shorter version or a wikilink? Here's an example. How can I shorten it?
- I don't want to use HTTPS version of Wikipedia when I use my account. Is there anyway to force HTTP instead of HTTPS? Browser add-on OR script? --Zyma (talk) 13:09, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- See Help:Permanent link and the {{Diff}} template.
- Go to your preferences and uncheck "Always use a secure connection when logged in".

The Greater Britain Movement.
[edit]The arson attacks on synagogues in 1966 were perpetuated by members of Colin Jordan's National Socialist Movement, not by members of John Tyndall's Greater Britain Movement as stated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.154.116.26 (talk) 14:45, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- This should go on the relevant article talk page. Help Desk is for people to ask questions about how to edit Wikipedia when they run into trouble. Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie | Say Shalom! 3 Adar 5775 14:54, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

- Greater Britain Movement vs. National Socialist Movement (UK, 1962) and the reference for the people being arrested for the attacks is referenced from a book. I'm unsure whether the Original Poster means that the information is incorrect in that the people arrested are actually from the NSM rather than GBM *or* if he is indicating that the police incorrectly arrested members of the GBM when they should have arrested NSM members. From the two articles, GBM was apparently formed from a subgroup of the NSM which was a Splinter group of the British National Party. (BNP formed in 1960, NSM formed in 1962, GBM in 1964 and the attacks in 1966). Maybe WP:POLITICSUK as the right place to try to get a better feeling for it?Naraht (talk) 16:18, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
Stats for Prolonged grief disorder
[edit]It looks like the stats for visits to the Prolonged Grief Disorder website are not working properly. How can this be fixed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.139.0.36 (talk) 21:47, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- I think the stats for all articles are currently not working. The stats are not provided by Wikipedia, but from a server in Sweden, which is sometimes unavailable. Maproom (talk) 22:33, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
