(p.s. Could you check out the bottom of my talk page {The purpose of Wikipedia} & tell me if this seems fair or not? I've only been an actual wikipedian for about 1 or 2 weeks & already I'm being told that my account will be blocked & deleted if I do not add more...)

Thank you for all of the help! (& yes, i see your point about the sig, it is kind-of hard to read :-D) I've changed the signature so that it's easier make out. I'll also try to do more edits, but this week is going to be hectic for me, so I'll try & do some soon. no worry about being blunt or rushed! thanks again! Polarwolf 18:41, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

so, should I change the text of my sig or just the text for the wolf part? is it too long or distracting?

Creating new pages

Hello! :) I'm not quite sure on how to make a new autograph page (as you suggested) on my userpage, so I was wondering if I could get the basics on it or a redirect to a page that could help. Thank you very much! PolarWolf 16:01, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! I just moved my autographs to a different page. You're a great adopter, thanks again!

p.s. My signature is acting very strange lately. any suggestions? everytime I sign my sig, it does this [[User:polarwolf|<font color="black" face="bank gothic">'''Polar'''</font>[[User talk:Polarwolf|<font color="navy" face="bank gothic">'''Wolf'''</font>]]]] 01:04, 16 July 2007 (UTC) It's rearranging the [['s. thanks again

I copied & pasted my sig from on your talk page onto my preference page, but the bug is still there. Mabye some help from administrators would be what we need. thanks!

Hey, forget about that last post, the bug's gone. Merci beaucoup! --PolarWolf 22:46, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Re:Admin Coaching

Hi, I would like to clarify something, its about the WP:ADMINCOACH. To start off, I have been in Esperanza for about a few months since last year. I then signed up for the Admin Coaching and snaked my way up the 40++ list of users at that time, up to number 12. I waited for about 3-4 months for a coach, contacted 3 coaches and got turned down, and now they so happily put me in the not active list. I now have to put my name in at the bottom of another 40 users, and God knows when I'll get my coach. Although I am rather taken aback by that, I have decided to make life easier for the coachees and coachers by signing up to become a coach myself. However, is there any requirements to become one? Number of edits etc, etc? Thanks in advance! Cheers!!!! --Zacharycrimsonwolf 14:18, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Holy cannoli, I had no idea the coaching page had changed so much. Well, the way it's supposed to work is that no one has to "wait in line"--you don't have to wait for the 20 or 40 people who signed up before you to get a coach. You said you've asked for a coach and been turned down--bummer. I can be your coach if you like. Technically I already have 2 coachees, but they are pretty much inactive in terms of coaching. So if you are looking for something more now and real-time, I'm available.
Regarding being a coach, no, you don't have to be an admin. It's probably better if you are, because you'd have admin experience, but it's not required, and there are really no set requirements for coaches. We have tried to make this as free-form as possible, to avoid wikilawyering and formality. I looked over your talk page though, and if you still have under 1000 edits, you probably aren't experienced enough to be a coach. I would think 2000 to be a minimum, but that's just a guideline.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you want coaching. Cheers, Fang Aili talk 19:20, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Erm..that's a little high for me now, so I'll skip the coaching part. But if you could be so kind as to be my coach, then I'll happily accept. And I'm on the 'pedia about 4 days out of seven, so I'll probably around for coaching most of the time. But what do we go through first? Cheers! --Zacharycrimsonwolf 13:03, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
Great! Create a coaching page and we'll get started (say, User:Zachary crimsonwolf/coaching). --Fang Aili talk 15:16, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Book

Hello, sorry if this seems like a random comment; I suppose it is. Anyway, looking through your userboxen and such like, I couldn't help but think you'd probably enjoy Ender's Game even though it's scifi and you mostly like fantasy. It's well worth reading, particularly before you're too old to believe that children think like they do in the book. If you've already read it, great. I suppose this could improve the encyclopedia because you could improve the article after reading it? </spurious reasoning> :) Skittle 00:43, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

It does indeed feature children. Is that a problem? It's fantastic, in my opinion :-) Skittle 19:37, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
The 'edit the article' suggestion was just to provide a wiki-specific reason for the communication :) Read away, if you get a copy, and don't worry about editing unless you want to. Skittle 22:35, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi! Sorry that I haven't written for quite awhile, I've been out of town and busy in school. Just thought I'd let you know I'm still alive. :-D PolarWolf 21:29, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Your review

I'm certainly not offended by any of your views or advice. On the contrary, I appreciate them. FWIW, some of the mods for which I've not provided citations are because I am a primary source (best example, the ARL article). I know, that's not the least bit obvious to anyone else reading the article, nor does it provide any assistance to those who might find a reference useful, as for tracking down further info. It just has an odd feel to it for me to contemplate justifying my mods by citing as an authoritative source an external document that I own.—PaulTanenbaum 21:48, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

To answer your question, FWIW = "for whatever it's worth."—PaulTanenbaum 14:26, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi Zachary crimsonwolf,

I'm just writing to let you know that i have deleted the message that you left on the adopt-a-user talk page in reply to Juan Miguel Fangio's post, as well as the original post itself. It turns out that Juan Miguel was a sock puppet and so has been blocked indefinitely.

Re:Templates

Hi Zachary,

See User talk:Nishkid64/Status2 and User:Nishkid64/StatusChange2. Basically, the actual template is /StatusChange2, and it's there that you set your personalized status ("Busy", "Away", "Online", etc.). You have to give these descriptions a label. I labeled them as "OMG1" or "OMG2", and you can do whatever you want ("1" or "2" work fine). On /Status2, you set the your status by writing down the corresponding label. So, my label for "Busy" is "OMG3" on /StatusChange2. To make it show up as Busy, I write {{User:Nishkid64/StatusChange2|OMG3}} on /Status2. To make it appear on your user/user talk pages, just transclude {{User:Nishkid64/Status2}}. Hope that answers your question! Nishkid64 (talk) 20:37, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

I don't mind at all. Just create your own user subpages, and copy & paste. Nishkid64 (talk) 13:30, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Gone

Hello, you've been gone for quite awhile (or so it seems), & I just thought I'd just drop by and see how you're doing. :) --PolarWolf ( grrr... ) 02:35, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Oh, I didn't know you were trying to contact me- was it by email or on my talk page? Oh well. Glad to see you again! :) I'd like to try the status bot that you set manually- what do I add to my userpage to get it? --PolarWolf ( grrr... ) 18:27, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
