Hi Blnguyen, I'm going to review Arthur Morris over the course of the day for GA status, can you do me a favour and modify the season separators so they comply with WP:DASH, so 1954–55 instead of either 1954/55 or 1954-55? Regarding cites - I have read the article on cites and have now put all cites at the end of punctuations. I put todays date (2007-08-04) for the dates I retrieved data. As for the published dates I have put 2007 on many cites as the bottom of these web pages have the following Cricinfo(c) 2007. I hope this solves the cite issue. Monsta666 13:47, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

I meant that some of the series have structures that differ from other series in the way that you discuss thte chronology, captains, themes, key battles, debuts and statistics. Hi mate. I've started working on it and to be honest, in my opinion, it's not ready for GA. It's not just a light copyedit required. The Lead was appalling, and I've just bunged the material I hacked from it into the history section, where it's still odd, but at least more appropriate.

IMHO it should be failed as GA as an awful lot of work is required to pass it. A thorough Peer Review would help - has it been there? --Dweller 09:50, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/2007 Malaysian Grand Prix

Good points you've brought up. We sort of have a preview, with looking at some of the technical features and some of the controversies that occured (Spyker, Ferrari etc.). With the Post-race bit however, for instance, if I went and put "McLaren had gained some ground on Ferrari and were the faster team", I would need a reference to back up my claim, but also, another user may have a completely opposite view. It's true that ppl will have different implications, but we can simply source theiropinions to see what the consensus and offbeat ideas of the different pundits. eg, Peter Windsor thought that the race was a good outcome for.....because they closed the gap....or Martin Brundle thought...............or F1 racing maazine thought that the implications in the F1 power strugle was......... I'd be interested but the article will be torn to shreds even if I do fix it, and I've got no academic (books / journals / articles) resources to go on. Without academic resources we're forced to fall back on the press, and the press is notoriously biased, sensationalist and one-sided. Oh, one character is one byte in computing terms, but usually, I check the article characters in terms of the text and not the whole code, which the article history measures. Actually, I was not particularly aware of him and definitely not of any controversy until a certain user started using a self-proclaimed revisionist book by an enemy of his called Mark Moyar. Hi further to your removal of various comments made by the IP user User:81.152.87.36, they reverted it back. I again removed their comments, and received a comment on my user talk page (which I have removed) telling me to stop removing perfectly legitimate comments and asking me How I expect Wiki articles to improve, if I stick my own POV everywhere. Given that the IP user was adding highly POV comments, msotly of a general nature and certainly nothing about how to improve the article, on long forgotten discussions, some from 12 months ago I took the liberty of archiving the talk page for the Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama article, except for the final discussion to which the IP user had added what seem to be relevant comments. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 02:36, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

In cricket, people say that a batsman has [figuratevly] "hit" or "put" or "lifted" the bowler into the crowd, when it actually refers to him hitting the ball into the crowd. So, that was figurative and perhaps not appropriate, although it seems to pass on cricket bios. Not at all offended. See Maiden (cricket). When the bowler had delivered an over that is a "maiden" the commentator will say "he's bowled a maiden". In one cricket novel I read "Johnny Whistler and the madcap cricket match" , an American comes to Australia [or England] and plays in an invitational cricket match. When they said "oh, he's bowled a maiden" [as in bowled an over (cricket) without conceding a run], the American fictional character thought that he bowler had knocked over a girl! Howdy, I've been away for family reasons for a day or two and just got back on wiki. I'm a little disappointed to see that you apparently knocked back my DYK nomination of Neak Leung while I was away. After nominating a few others and seeing them accepted, I was hoping to return to find my own first DYK. The comment you left on the nomination while selecting articles for the update was:
"How much of Cambodia was shattered during the civil strife and Pol Pot era though? I would guess quite a lot. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 06:20, 3 August 2007 (UTC)"
Now, that's an interesting, if rhetorical, question and I'd be happy to discuss it with you over a beer sometime - but as a reason to cull the DYK nomination, it leaves me in the dark. For referencing, word length, use of multiple free images and general encyclopedic and DYK qualities Neak Leung looked like one of the better nominations for the day. I also rescued it from the depths of Special:shortpages where it was number 311 before expansion. It took quite a lot of research and fact checking to expand and the hook was interesting, factual, referenced and the main reason the town gained international notoriety in the 70's. I was planning to do a similar expansion job on various sub stubs covered by Wikipedia:WikiProject Cambodia and nominate them for DYK also. As nearly all nominations that meet the requirements generally make the front page, I'd be interested to hear from you which part of the DYK Rules this nomination failed to meet - as your was the only comment. This would be helpful, in case I feel motivated to expand any others. Paxse 14:28, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

One of the DYK criteria is in fact "interesting" - it isn't policed all that often, but I was hoping that someone would find a better alternative which was more onscure if possible. hI. Note that Neak Leung on DYK proposals on July 27 had nothing to do with Pol Pot, the Khmer Rouge or the civil war. It was an American bomber that made a major blunder. I'm pretty sure it was a Vietnam War plane - ot wmight be a good idea for me to research it and create an article of its own on the incident ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ ^{"Expecting you?" Your removal of the Pakistan banner from talk pages

Hi Blnguyen, I noticed that you recently removed the Pakistan banner from the talk pages of the Syed Ahmad Khan, Rudyard Kipling and Taj Mahal pages. I'm afraid, it is not enough to say that Pakistan didn't exist during the lifetime of Khan and Kipling or during the construction of the Taj. Syed Ahmad Khan was one of the earliest proponents of the two-nation theory that led ultimately to the creation of Pakistan. As for Kipling, his stint at the Civil and Military Gazette in Lahore for five years laid the foundations of his literary life. Lahore and NWFP are both very important in Kipling's early fiction, much more so than Bombay, where he was born. The case for Taj Mahal is less secure, but I suggest you take up your objections with the (Pakistani?) editors who put the banner there in the first place rather than simply deleting them. You will notice that the pages all have the flag of the Republic of India, which too didn't exist during Ahmad or Kipling's time. Unless you are suggesting that the flag be replaced by the flag and banner of British India (which is fine with me), you will be opening a can of worms. That topic (i.e. what to include in which South Asian nation's history or what flags to use), BTW, is by no means settled, as you will see from Nichalp's post on the history of India talk page here and my posts in the ongoing discussion here. Oh, I am well aware of the previous discussion....I am aware of the presence of the Indian flag on pre-ROI stuff, although if you look at {{WPVN}} you might know that before French colonisation, Vietnam was a somewhat different shape. Sorry, Blnguyen, I didn't realize you had responded. You are right that the word "Pakistan" was indeed coined in the 1930s, but SAK was the first person to actively promote the idea that Muslims and Hindus in British India were distinct nations and that the Muslims should cast their lot with the British rather than with the then fledgling (and later burgeoning) nationalist movement of the Indian National Congress. Actually, that was not the longest one. See User:Blnguyen/RfA and follow the links. I have only done 2 RfAs this year....but in my heyday this was quite regular stuff.
