Please do not ever change dated statements to say "as of the moment". Such a statement can become false at any time. All we know is "as of December 2011". Yworo (talk) 01:11, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
Recurring minor issue
[edit]Hi, on Gainetdinova / Bich, you wrote, "They finished 8th at their second appearance at the 2013 World Junior Championships." I deleted "second appearance" because while it's their second Junior Worlds appearance, they only appeared once at 2013 Junior Worlds. I don't mean to be nitpicky but I've had to correct many similar errors on other skaters' Wiki pages so I'd like you to be a bit more careful about wording. Hergilei (talk) 07:43, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
I had to remove your claim that she's of Georgian descent. It could be true but we're not allowed to add info about someone's personal life without a reliable source, such as an interview. I've already told this to you before (see Ryuju Hino). And why did you change her surname to her first name in much of the text? That makes the Wiki article look unprofessional (as if it was written by one of her family or close friends). I've already mentioned that as well. Please review Wiki guidelines before editing. It's tiring to have to repeat them to you so many times.Hergilei (talk) 02:10, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
Please study punctuation and stop adding run-on sentences, like you did to Maxim Kovtun, Javier Fernández (figure skater), and Caroline Zhang. And why did you mess up a perfectly good sentence with non-English (scored a placed) over at [Buckland]'s Wiki page? I'm sorry to be harsh but this has been going on for a while. If you can't improve your English skills, perhaps it would be best to avoid those areas and stick to the medal tables and other simple tasks. Hergilei (talk) 02:24, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
Larionov's injury
[edit]Hi, thanks in general for your contributions, however, I had to remove the info about Larionov falling on his hands because it's not mentioned in the news article. If you found the info on an internet forum, please remember that Wikipedia does NOT consider forums a reliable source.Hergilei (talk) 19:59, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
Ancestry claims
[edit]Hi, I removed your statement saying that Ryuju Hino is half-Russian. Claims about a person's ancestry, just like claims about romantic relationships, require a very reliable source, preferably a direct interview with the skater himself. If you don't have a credible source, don't add it to Wikipedia. Hergilei (talk) 21:36, 18 December 2012 (UTC)
Figure skating
[edit]Thank you for your contributions to figure skating articles! However, please double-check spelling, grammar and punctuation before pressing "save page". Please don't overlink (if the European Championships are already linked in nearby text, you don't need to create a link again), unnecessarily capitalize a word (for example, medal colors should not be capitalized), include unnecessary paragraph breaks or break up text into excessive numbers of sections (for example, in the Korobeynikova article, the 2011-2012 season section isn't so long that it needs to be broken down into a senior section). Wikipedia:Manual of Style and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Words to watch might be helpful.Hergilei (talk) 08:59, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Hi, can I ask again that you double-check your work before pressing "save page". I'm sorry but this statement that you added to Yanovskaia and Mozgov: "because of Mozgov's left leg had broken the boot strap but was not given a penalty from their very short break off their step sequence" isn't proper English. And please stop uploading images without permission information. They'll be deleted from Commons and we'll have to go remove the red link from the skater's article.Hergilfs (talk) 16:39, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, it seems the ISU does not define the WTT as a Championship. Therefore, we should place it below the Europeans/Four Continents/World Juniors etc in results tables. On another note, can you please avoid run-on sentences in your work. Hergilfs (talk) 19:11, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. When you recently edited Maxim Kovtun, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Nikolai Morozov (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Akiko Suzuki
[edit]Hi, I noticed that you updated Akiko Suzuki by adding a run-on sentence and leaving a reference in the wrong place (making it seem like it supported the information about Worlds although it was about the Japanese Championships.) http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Akiko_Suzuki&diff=484999553&oldid=484910898 Your work is appreciated but please be more careful when editing text. I hate to keep criticizing but this is not the first time you've made these kinds of errors. Hergilfs (talk) 22:21, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Diliana Guerguieva, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.gymn.ca/gymnasticgreats/rsg/gueorguieva.htm.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

The article Adriana Dunavska has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. --IShadowed 19:42, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

I found you created Masha's wiki page and use many information from my site...I am not too happy about this, listed my website link below the page is not enough for me! All her personal information I asked her directly, and I translated Irina Viner's interview, You should ask me first when you want to quote the information of my website, at least you should write the source is from my site, just listed the link in the bottom who knows is me to find out all her information? Please respect my work!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wanwan0402 (talk • contribs) 15:56, 14 May 2013
- (talk page stalker)In order to assist with this more information is required, please. We need:
- The accurate page on Wikipedia
- The url of your web site
- WIth this information your allegations of copyright violation can be followed up. Wikipedia takes breaches of copyright very seriously. Please post this information here. Please feel free to discuss this on my own talk page. Yappers1000 is, by my experience, not used to making talk page replies. I will do my best to assist you. Rhythmic Gymnastics Grand Prix and World Cup
[edit]Hi! Could you please completely rewrite/rephrase the section "Rhythmic Gymnastics Grand Prix Series#History"? Cause the article used as a source contains the same sentences. See WP:COPYVIO, it's not allowed to copy someone else's text to Wikipedia. It would take too much time for me to rewrite it myself and I will have to just delete almost everything in the section if you don't rewrite it soon.
And another thing. In "Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup#World Cup Final Medalists", only the 2008 final seems to be official, there weren't any more finals after that. I think all the entries starting from 2009 should be removed. Or maybe we can just retitle the section to "Medalists of the final tournament of the season" or something. (It doesn't sound good, but something like this.) (Do you have proof, any links saying that the final tournament of the year is an "unofficial final"?) --Moscow Connection (talk) 20:56, 30 September 2014 (UTC)

standard Infobox swimmer formatting, etc.
[edit]Hi, Yappers. Several times over the last several days, I have removed the "show medals" coding per standard formatting instructions of Template:Infobox swimmer, coding which in each instance you added to the infobox of a swimmer biography. In each instance, I have referred you to the standard formatting for Infobox swimmer via edit summaries. All 1200+ American, Australian, British, and Canadian swimmer bio articles have been uniformly formatted, and eventually the standard formatting will be uniformly imposed on all 4000+ swimmer articles using Infobox swimmer. A great deal of effort has been made by several WikiProject Swimming editors to achieve the present level of consistency, but work still remains to be done. Your cooperation in the consistent standard formatting of all Wikipedia swimmer biographies is requested. Thanks. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 19:02, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. World Cup Finals in Rhythmic Gymnastics
[edit]Hello. I see you've added medals credited as earned in World Cup Finals in many biographies for Rhythmic gymnasts. World Cup Finals are not held since January 2009. From 2009 to this date there is merely the last stage of the competition, which should not be considered the same event as the World Cup Final. According to consensus reached on the Project Gymnastics talk page, World Cup medals should not be added to the infobox, except when they are earned at the World Cup Finals. But in Rhythmic Gymnastcs, these were held from 1983 to 2008, so all the medals credited from 2009 to this date should be removed from the biographies. For further information, please refer to FIG World Cup Final. Also, medals earned in junior competitions should not be added to the infobox, except those earned at the Youth Olympic Games. I have tried my best to ammend the inconsistencies in the artices you have edited, but there ase some still in need of updates. Please help the consistency of the project by removing the medals that should not be shown on the infobox. Thank you. -- ThiagoSimoes (talk) 14:54, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup
[edit]Hello. I have been following your contributions for quite some time. You are an expert in Rhythmic Gymnastics, and I have been trying my best to add more and more results from RG competitions to Wikipedia. I have had trouble, though, finding results from different stages of the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup series from 1983 to 2008. From 2009 to 2016 I believe I have found most (maybe all) results, but from 1983 to 2008 all I could find were the results from the World Cup Final events. Could you please help me find results from 1983 to 2008? So far, I was able to compile a list of nations which have earned at least one medal at the World Cup series, and they are:
|
I suspect nations such as Czechoslovakia, East Germany, West Germany, Hungary, and even maybe Estonia or Austria could be potential additions to the list, but there are no results I could find to support this. Once again, I would be really thankful if you can help somehow. Thanks. -- ThiagoSimoes (talk) 17:05, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

[edit]- Could you please explain edits like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Alexander_Samarin&action=historysubmit&type=revision&diff=742134405&oldid=742134279
Every article should explain the subject's notability in the lead so that it doesn't get deleted. You decision to remove his international accomplishments and leave only junior national medals is not helpful if you want the article to remain on Wikipedia. Please read WP:NSKATE for guidelines on figure skating notability. Hergilei (talk) 14:37, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
Names
[edit]Hi! Could you please use WP:COMMONNAME for people's names? I know that some very strange romanization was officially adopted for Russian foreign passports. (And, AFAIK, a very similar one had been adopted for Ukrainian foreign passports.) The romanization looks very strange and as far as I can see it is very rarely used in reliable sources (English-language magazines, newspapers, news sites, etc.). Probably because it is too terrible and unreadable.
By the way, I noticed that some people renamed some sportspeople who represented the Soviet Union and happened to find themselves living in Ukraine or Belorussia when the Soviet Union dissolved. It is not right. They are still commonly known (WP:COMMONNAME) under their Russian names. --Moscow Connection (talk) 22:46, 19 February 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Why did you delete the two categories you deleted here? It was proper to include them. Why destroy the positive, appropriate work of others? Also - your edit summary (update) did nothing to explain your deletion. --2604:2000:E016:A700:E117:F18A:7FBA:D613 (talk) 01:32, 28 December 2017 (UTC)
The article Grace Legote has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable gymnast.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 00:12, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
