Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Page Curation update

Hey all :). We've just deployed another set of features for Page Curation. They include flyouts from the icons in Special:NewPagesFeed, showing who reviewed an article and when, a listing of this in the "info" flyout, and a general re-jigging of the info flyout - we've also fixed the weird bug with page_titles_having_underscores_instead_of_spaces in messages sent to talkpages, and introduced CSD logging! As always, these features will need some work - but any feedback would be most welcome.

WikiIndaba and Wikipedian in Residence Notice

Dear Wikipelli/Archive 14

As a Wikipedian interested in African subjects and specifically Malawi, I would like you to be aware of the following two opportunities:

1. Wikimedia South Africa and WikiAfrica are organising an WikiIndaba for February 2014 – a continental meeting for Africa-based Wikipedians to get together, discuss challenges and drive the agenda for Wikipedia from Africa. If you support this initiative, then please sign up on this site: http://wikiindaba.net – we also want to hear what you want the Wiki Indaba to achieve. What are your expectations? What does it need to include? Who and what do you want to see happen at WikiIndaba? What is your area of interest? Languages? Data? Please share your ideas and thoughts on the Community Portal

2. WikiAfrica is looking for a Wikipedian in Residence from Malawi. This might be a position that you would consider. Or it could be the perfect opportunity for someone you know from Malawi, please spread the word! For more details, please look at this page: http://www.wikiafrica.net/wikipedian-in-residence-malawi

If you have any questions about either of the above, please contact isla on isla [at] wikiafrica [dot] net : Isla Haddow (talk)

Lee marvin correction.

Hi Wikipell. Thanks for correcting my error on Lee Marvin, you got there before I did when I had realised my faux pas .

Supposed revision on Cisco systems

Hi WIkiPell You messaged me that I had posted an addition to the page on Cisco systems which you had reverted. I have checked the post - never having accessed the wiki Cisco and the post is rubbish and I confirm it was not me. Presumably Ihave been cloned/impersonated thanks O R D

Piece for Solo Viola

Hello there.

I am sorry that you believe my recent edit of the name of the solo viola work to be a piece of vandalism, but I assure you it is not. The name of the piece 'Et Viola' has changed to 'Toffee Cock'. There are several expletives spoken during the course of the piece. The final words of the work are 'Et Viola', and this was the reason for the previous title, however the composer has since worked with the commissioning performer and decided that the more outrageous title is more fitting. The piece is due to be recorded on 'Subverten' records as part of a collaborative work between Taylor and Crowe in London, entitled 'Crowseph' later this year.

May I mention that there is a precedent for expletives in Crowe's output, namely: ' Just Bloody Schmooze the Woman', 'Fuck Bunnies', 'Crazy Bitch Fantastic' and 'Fuck This Arseholing Typewriter' (itself a quotation from Philip Larkin, as I'm sure you'll be aware), written for the Arditti Quartet.

Many thanks.

Message from LHS alumni

I am just trying to contribute helpful information to my high school's Wikipedia page. What gives you the right to edit it? It is not vandalism. Since when is contributing a notable alumni section "vandalism"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:282:4002:4260:B979:C320:7536:9750 (talk) 16:00, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
