History of telephone numbers in the United Kingdom
Hello from SouthHamsian (talk)! I see you have left a message on my talk page that you reverted a series of edits that I have made to "History of telephone numbers in the United Kingdom" as 'not constructive': really sorry if it looked that way. I was trying to add additional information about the subject, and make the page a little more structured.
The page has clearly grown a lot over time, and it's ended up in a rather odd order: in particular, the sections (and subsections of) 12 to 13 are not in chronological order, and sections 13 and 10 cover the same subject in different levels of detail, but miles apart. I was in the middle of attempting to make it a little more logical - but having to do so in a series of smaller edits to stop my browser crashing. I'd really like to - constructively - help that page follow the progress of UK telephone numbers through history in chronological order. Would that be OK? --SouthHamsian (talk) 17:35, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- @SouthHamsian: From looking at your edits, I see your reworking of the page was constructive, and have restored your edits. I think what confused me is your changing of the heading "Geographic numbers" to "PhONEday changes to all geographic numbers in 1995". Thanks, WikiMacaroonsCinnamon? 17:39, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- @WikiMacaroons: Many thanks: there were originally multiple sections called "Geographic numbers", but I'll find a better title for that particular section, and plough on. --SouthHamsian (talk) 17:57, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

Template:COVID-19 cases in Europe --> Ireland values updates INCORRECT
Hello WikiMacaroons,
I appreciate your hard work on updating values on the template - Template:COVID-19 cases in Europe. I am aware that you use a script / bot to update the values, as you mentioned on my talk page, however the values updated for Ireland is completely wrong and messed up.
I update the Ireland values everyday, and every so often after you update the template values, I always find the values for Ireland all wrong. Today (2020-11-29), I've noticed you updated the values.... Good on you and well done, however, the values you update for Ireland is wrong and I want you to be aware of that. Not only is the case and death values wrong, the recoveries value and the references / citations are also incorrect. I always have to correct the values and re-add the correct values in.
I have also noticed that today (2020-11-29) you changed the flag of Ireland on the template to Serbia's, which is just wrong, so I had to re-add the Ireland flag back in.
This entire situation have been going on for many months now and it has been very frustrating for me, I want you to know that.
Thank you. Edl-irishboy (talk) 18:06, 29 November 2020 (UTC)
- Edl-irishboy, Thanks for getting in touch. That Serbia thing was a bit silly, wasn't it? Thanks for fixing it. As for the correct rates, what source are you getting them from? Thanks, WikiMacaroonsCinnamon? 18:28, 29 November 2020 (UTC)
- For the correct rates, I am getting the case and death sources from the Government of Ireland on their website. Thanks. Edl-irishboy (talk) 18:18, 30 November 2020 (UTC)

Matchbox Educable Noughts and Crosses Engine
Here are a first few observations on the article in view of a future FAC:
- Image captions: as per MOS, no full stops at the end of the caption unless the caption is one full sentence or more. Thus the first two pics, I think, should not have a full stop at the end of caption.
- References: a major issue is that many of your references do not provide the page or page range with the relevant passage. Whenever you cite a source that is more than one or two pages long, you must give the precise page or short page range where the claim you want to back up is located. Say I there is an entire chapter about Person A in a larger book on people. I want to say that Person A did not like pastas, which is said in this chapter, on p. 232. Then in the text, I must cite the book with p. 232 specifically provided. In addition in the bibliography list, I must provide the page range for the chapter about Person A as it is itself not the whole book. For this reason we usually use the sfn template. The template works as follows: in the text I write { { sfn | AuthorName| Year | p=232} } (with no spaces of course) and at the end of the article, in the bibliography, you would give the full ref with the page range for the chapter. Alternative solutions exists, but everything FAC article must provided precise pages for each claim.
- You will have troubles with some references. For example, what makes "incompleteideas.net.", "itbrief.com.au. " reliable sources ? Usually one prefers: book / articles in peer reviewed journals and the like. Newspaper article can be accepted if suitable (e.g. for ref to a news and the like) but random websites usually come under criticism at FAC.

- Thank you very much, Iry-Hor! I will try to have these issues fixed as soon as possible. WikiMacaroonsCinnamon? 20:11, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- Well this is complicated: generally (but not always) online blogs and the like are to be avoided and some news websites are considered not reliable either. But that is not always the case, The Daily Telegraph for example is considered reliable. A list of reliable & non-reliable online sources as per current wikipedia consensus is given Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources. You can look up to see if your source is in there. If it is considered unreliable you will have to remove it at FAC. If it is just absent from the list, then it is doubtful, you could leave it but might get questions at FAC in particular for online websites.Iry-Hor (talk) 08:27, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yes sorry for the delay, I am being very slow. I will come back to you very soon ! By the way, have you looked on JSTOR about articles mentioning MENACE ? It is usually quick to do a general research on the database and may turn up new sources/facts. Iry-Hor (talk) 08:47, 9 February 2021 (UTC)

Apologies
Dear Macaroons, I am really sorry for the insane delay in answering your request. I simply do not have enough wikipedia free time at the moment. I really apologize for taking up so long to face up to this. I believe you can put this up for FAC since my main doubt was about completeness but you checked this as I read your answers. In addition, just address in a timely manner (i.e. not like me...) any comment you have at FAC and this should see the article promoted: all commentators wish to help improve the article and almost always support in the end unless their concerns are rejected. Iry-Hor (talk) 15:27, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
- Iry-Hor, thanks for the message, I appreciate it. It's ok to not have enough time right now, I'll put the article up for FAC ASAP. Thanks for the help you gave, WikiMacaroonsCinnamon? 15:40, 2 March 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Bean-pole family
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Bean-pole family, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Mikehawk10 (talk) 17:30, 16 October 2021 (UTC)

Edit Request on Notorious B.I.G.
DMX is currently listed as having attended high school with Big on Biggie's wiki. This isn't true (only Big, Jay Z and Busta went to the Westinghouse school together as confirmed by Jay Z and Busta) and has since been corrected on the DMX page but not on Big's. Can you fix this by removing Dmx? I complained on the Big talk page months ago but my edit request was removed and remains unchanged.

Common misconceptions - body heat
Hi WikiMacaroons. Four criteria were established by consensus for adding an item to the article. You can see them when you open an edit window. These were developed to prevent the article becoming bloated with questionable entries. My concern regards criterion 3: "The common misconception is mentioned in its topic article with sources.". I looked at the topic article that you linked, Thermoregulation. I could not find any discussion of the misconception. Maybe I missed something. Could you please clarify? Thanks. Sundayclose (talk) 21:45, 18 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Sundayclose: Thanks for spotting that. Would it help if I didn't link Thermoregulation? It is irrefutably a common misconception - I heard someone invoke it just today as a matter of fact - but perhaps it would help if it was just added to the thermoregulation article. What do you think? Regards, WikiMacaroonsCinnamon? 16:30, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- I think someone has fixed the problem for you. But to answer your question, it doesn't matter which topic article you link; that article must mention the misconception with sources. Again, open an edit window and you can read the inclusion criteria. Sundayclose (talk) 16:32, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
