Your Username

I have concerns about your username and the confusion that it might create with other editors. Notability and the concept of something or someone being NOTNOTABLE is a prime tenet of Wikipedia. To have an editor with that as a name might give rise to the belief that this was a account with special authority over issues of notability. I believe that it would be more appropriate to request a name-change to something that was more neutral. Than you  Velella  Velella Talk   23:02, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

The issue is I suck at usernames. As in "I've been trying to reply to this with a new name for about since you've posted it" bad... Hm, if I do have to change my username, where would I do it anyway?NOTNOTABLE (talk) 23:17, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
Have a look at changing username page. I changed mine about 5 years ago and it was quite quick and painless! Regards  Velella  Velella Talk   23:30, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
There's a hoax article called Stein disease which would either be a great name for a band or Wikipedia, if you need ideas. --Mr. Vernon (talk) 01:36, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
I agree that User:IMNOTNOTABLE is potentially confusing. As a suggestion, you might try something like User:IMNOTNOTABLE, or User:ImNotNotable might be better without all-caps, assuming that's what your name meant. - BilCat (talk) 02:21, 24 November 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for your contribution to Wikipedia!

While I appreciate your concern for style, I merely filled in a "citation needed" and copied and pasted the preexisting format. You deleted a citation that needed to be there. If you have issues with the overall formatting, then please make the corresponding changes rather than remove necessary citations. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ryanmsfinley (talkcontribs) 01:33, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

Well somewhere along the line, things got messed up. Dunno what happened, but something did. NOTNOTABLE (talk) 01:35, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

I had a Chrome highlighter extension running that somehow messed everything up, my sincere apologies. Thanks for catching it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ryanmsfinley (talkcontribs) 02:24, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

One more revert to non-fringe, please

Would you revert the Chaldean Christians article to the non-fringe version one more time? I cannot legally do so any more today. That other User is blocked now. Thanks in advance. -- 2A1ZA (talk) 00:23, 24 November 2016 (UTC)

Reverted. NOTNOTABLE (talk) 00:25, 24 November 2016 (UTC)

Your username

I see I am not the only one concerned about your choice of username. It is misleading and I would strongly suggest you change it. Please use Wikipedia:Changing username. Thanks for your consideration. Magnolia677 (talk) 20:37, 24 November 2016 (UTC)

I already submitted a request. NOTNOTABLE (talk) 00:58, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
Just for information and anyone else with concerns, renaming is down for the whole week and no new names are likely to be assigned until after midnight on 27th November. Regards  Velella  Velella Talk   09:22, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

I have provided more than enough reference. Please check one by one, still if u get lack reff. I provide. Please revert to back Vikramranrathod (talk) 18:39, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

While the references may be correct, I feel that the statement feels very peacock-like. As well, the grammar in it needs some definite copyediting. That's why I reverted your statements: not because they were incorrectly referenced (I am not the one to ask about reliable sources), but because the grammar was odd and the statement felt very bolstered to the point of breaking NPOV. Sabbatino deleting

Yeah, he keeps on trolling and deleting the stats. Is there a way to ban him? --Bigmoe797 (talk) 20:44, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

I suggest getting the attention of the administrators. I don't know the exact procedure for something at this level of attempted disruption. NOTNOTABLE (talk) 20:48, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

I'm offended

***Tears*** Why did you do this to me??? How will I go on??? -- Kndimov (talk) 22:28, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

@Kndimov: Go on what, exactly? Wikipedia? I usually use a computer. NOTNOTABLE (talk) 22:32, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
I don't have one, I just stick my finger in an electric socket and become one with the internet. -- Kndimov (talk) 22:34, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

Please don't

Please do not come to my page and send me "edit warring" warnings when I've been trying to correct the vandalism of an anonymous user over the last several hours on more than one Clemson page. He's deleting factual and sourced info. Please assist rather than tossing out arbitrary warnings on my talk page.--LesPhilky (talk) 20:12, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

Oh, I figured you were correct while looking at the edits. However, I feel that summaries like "LOL at Cock fans so butthurt over last night that they're trying to sugarcoat this stomping" don't really help you out. And as well, even if you are on the right side, you still need to remember not to engage in edit wars. Keep a level head, and all that. NOTNOTABLE (talk) 20:16, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
I understand. My jabs about the game are just rubbing it in a little, just as the Cock fans on here used to do when they won. However, this is an anonymous user vandalizing pages and reverting factual, sourced, NPOV info. This person won't engage in the talk page nor will try to play by any rules. I'm pretty sure I know who it is as he's following his usual MO but doing it anonymously through mobile edits.--LesPhilky (talk) 21:05, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
I'll start warning the user when they readd the edits, so either they'll stop or WP:AIV can get involved. Sound good? NOTNOTABLE (talk) 21:07, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
Sounds great. Thanks for your assistance. BTW, the person doing this is most likely this guy: User:GarnetAndBlack. He's using the same writing style and is pretty much the only other person who actively edits here. He has been warned, banned, and warned and banned again for edit warring and other shenanigans. Each time he has been unapologetic and continuously defiant of admins. He likes to twist the rules around to violate policies while accusing other users of committing violations. Thanks again for your help.--LesPhilky (talk) 21:10, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

Inappropriate comments

Whether you are good at reverts, as your userpage claims, I make no comment on; if this is so I assume that you have spent some time editing anonymously - with which I have no problem - as this account is only a week old. But posting on the userpage of an editor who is at incipient risk of block, as this [1], for instance, is not helpful. In immediate contact with my block notice it gives an unfortunate impression.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 17:04, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

Correction: two weeks old. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 17:06, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
I had actually been writing that before the block had happened, but at the time they did have a final warning, so it was quite silly of me to start trying to approach the user and work it out after that, as that was very obviously impending. Very sorry, I do have some issues with my talk page comments "bumping into" another user's comments as it happens far too much. Also, yes, I had been editing for quite a while without any tools and as an IP, simply reverting edits without talk page comments, although with an edit summary. I did only revert obvious vandalism most of the time, though, as that was what I was good at. I'm trying to learn about the more nuanced things like NPOV (as in peacock terms, not obvious "the incompetent" edits) and such. Anyway, yes. Sorry. NOTNOTABLE (talk) 17:12, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
There is no need to apologise; I was trying to provide guidance, not criticism. Obviously there can be a problem if you edit the page of a user at imminent risk of block, but I guess you know that now. Giving warnings, or offering help, is clearly OK in the absence of an ongoing conversation. Go to it. I am always happy to give advice if asked.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 19:12, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

Rollback

I have granted the "rollbacker" permission to your account. After a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, contact me and I will remove it. Good luck and thanks. – Gilliam (talk) 07:05, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Information icon Hello What cat?. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that there is consensus that we shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created, as you did at Talha Mumtaz. It is also suggested that pages that might meet CSD A7 criteria not be tagged for deletion immediately after they are created. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks.  {MordeKyle  00:18, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

@MordeKyle: Am I allowed to advise users to make a draft before creating a page moments after it's created if the page violates A1, A3, or A7? I would assume I am, but I'd just like to check. – 🐈? (talk) 00:38, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
@What cat?: As far as I am aware, that is not a problem. Though a draft is not necessary for a new article. Sometimes it takes a little bit of time for user's to add the appropriate content to a new article, so we should give them the time to do just that. Thanks!  {MordeKyle  00:48, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

I'm just a passing contributor that doesn't change things often enough for considering getting a username. I recently made some additions to Spanish Navy (a citenote in the ranks that appears both in the Army and Air Force pages but had been ommitted there despite still holding true), and even checked that I did not mess up with the formatting, but it was reverted. To sum it up, both the Army and Air Force pages include a citenote mentioning that the rank of Captain-General is reserved to H.M. the King of Spain, but not the Navy page, despite the title of Captain-General of the Army, Navy and Air Forces (Capitán General de Tierra, Mar y Aire) being reserved to the King by the Spanish Constitution.--178.57.128.184 (talk) 00:10, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

@178.57.128.184: My diff only showed me "|Note" being added, which didn't look right to me. I didn't see the actual note. Sorry about that! – 🐈? (talk) (ping me!) 00:12, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

Asexuality

It's not vandalism if it's correct, perhaps you should do some research on what many acearos really think about gay ppl, it's appalling. :) ThereisnoA (talk) 19:15, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

@ThereisnoA: Even if it were true and you had a reliable source and it weren't completely POV, you messed up the formatting, did not adhere to the manual of style, or seemingly any of the style guides, and the lead is not the correct place for this info. Thank you for your contributions. – 🐈? (talk) (ping me!) 19:19, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

JT LeRoy edits

The identity of JT LeRoy was a damaged boy from West Virginia who was prostituted by his mother and homeless in San Francisco's Tenderloin. And a drug-addicted incest survivor. Where do you suppose on the page is a good place to mention what the identity of JT LeRoy was, who Laura Albert was acting out in public with her sister-in-law and impersonating on the phone. Or are you implying that relaying that information, about the actual identity/persona of JT LeRoy on the JT LeRoy page isn't neutral. Seriously confused. Thanks for reaching out. Msturm 8 (talk) 20:27, 16 December 2016 (UTC)

@Msturm 8: I just got confused as I didn't know much about this topic and assumed it was vandalism as the edit looked similar to vandal edits. Sorry. – 🐈? (talk) (ping me!) 20:29, 16 December 2016 (UTC)

Thank you. I have been writing quite a lot. Pacific Ocean is working with Laura Albert to create the page in a certain direction. There are years of this history on the Talk Page. I have only recently decided to try and get the page to represent something closer to the facts around this large scale social phenomenon. I appreciate your quick response and help! PacificOcean (talk) 02:07, 17 December 2016 (UTC)

@PacificOcean: Frankly, I don't know much about the subject. I might go over it and remove (or, possibly, edit) the statement depending on what I read, but I'd rather not do something silly and get everyone involved in this upset at me. Also, please try and refrain from making so many edits, I opened Wikipedia to 12 notifications and got slightly worried. Also, remember to put one more ":" than the statement replying to you has so you can indent your reply and it looks nicer. – 🐈? (talk) (ping me!) 18:26, 17 December 2016 (UTC)

Thank you for helping me out to remove that fake info in YouTube Play Button! As you already know about that PewDiePie's (fake) ruby 'play button', everyone's believing it's true. But there's no option on how to claim the button in the YouTube Creator Hub page or something like that, because this is a custom-made, not an official one. So thanks to remove that for me. Just to inform you the IP you reported as a Sockpuppet in December 2016 (Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/82.36.213.209), is back from his 1 month ban, and appears to have picked up his disruptive edits in the same style, from where he left off, contributing a long series of useless edits to a number of articles 1 and 2, with the edits mainly being linking and unlinking names, example. Second set of eyes

Hi, you reverted an edit to BAMN a little while ago and the IP there is still going at it with their "regressive left terrorist" changes. I can't revert them again due to WP:3RR (which I always try to be mindful of) but I could really use a second set of eyes on that article so that it doesn't stay up for much longer. You warned this user in February. He or she has returned to post what I suspect are paid contributions. Deb (talk) 07:22, 19 June 2017 (UTC)

@Deb: While these edits do seem suspicious, I have doubts they're paid. They seem less promotional and I can see a definite attempt to be encyclopedic in nature. What I would look at is the fact that there's few, if any, non-primary sources. This may be worked out easier by attempting to converse with J.meltz (talk · contribs). What I warned them for was definitely nowhere along the lines of paid contribution. – 🐱? (talk) (ping me!) 15:05, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
