llm use on Talk pages
At RSN, the accusation of using an LLM was made by IP as a matter-of-fact assertion. If IP is incorrect, then that's just how OP writes (and how a lot of inexperienced writers might think formal-looking writing should actually look like), and OP may be shut off from a large part of discussion and probably ends up quite frustrated. If IP is correct, but said nothing or was ignored (false negative), then what is the harm in this situation, comparatively? From OP's contributions (ignoring that they write in other styles in edit summaries and their draft article), they are not spamming, which would be the main use case for an llm (the second common use I'd think of would be for translation or for cleaning up unconfident language).
In addition, as has been discussed to death in guideline pages, I just suggest giving a bit of leeway to newbies who are at least at face value showing good faith (they are, after all, posting on RSN and "requesting feedback" in the first place). SamuelRiv (talk) 22:02, 2 September 2024 (UTC)

ITN
While I reverted this post with errors, I wanted to circle back and say again that I am sorry for your prior experience at ITN. I firmly believe that new voices are the only way ITN will improve. Of course, it's your prerogative how you invest your time. Regards. —Bagumba (talk) 11:03, 8 September 2024 (UTC)

Women in Green's "Around the World in 31 Days" GA Editathon – October 2024
Hello Voorts:
WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2024!
Running from October 1 to 31, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.
We hope to see you there!

DYK for Fan wiki
On 13 September 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Fan wiki, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that some fan wikis document fan fiction? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Fan wiki. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Fan wiki), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

For creating and bringing the fan wiki article to Good Article status (and also promoting it to DYK). That was a really well written article on an important aspect of internet culture. Keep up the good work! Spirit of Eagle (talk) 01:27, 13 September 2024 (UTC) |
