Hi Vistadan, Thanks for your edit on Channel Four Television Corporation, however the reason why I created the red link was for a new article that I will be starting in the next few days called 124 Horseferry Road (the Channel Four Building). So it helps to create a red link for a short time. Therefore for this readon alone I am creating the red link again. SethWhales talk 20:44, 28 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Aaton Digital, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Founder. Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi Vistadan. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 02:37, 15 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey 1Sire, Kanye has "Kid See Ghost" trademarked (link), has the domain http://kidsseeghost.com (link) (also kidsseeghosts.com), and tweeted a few hours ago about a "Kid See Ghost" short film (link). I think we should continue using the name he announced with and wait until he releases music and see whether he uses "Kid See Ghost" or "Kid See Ghosts". What do you think? [edit]

You need to know that Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously. You must not copy and paste text from sources you find on the web into articles as you did in the article Mysteries and Myths with Megan Fox. I have removed the infringing text and rewritten the last sentence in the synopsis section, but the material you copied is subject to copyright, as is almost everything on the web, and when creating or expanding articles, you should completely rewrite the information from the source using your own words. As the article now stands, about half the content is quotations and that is an unacceptably high percentage. The information could easily be rewritten without the quotations being used. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 11:09, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Cwmhiraeth, I completely understand that Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously and I should have rewrote the quotes in my own words in the first place. Thank you for making me aware of the problem and for removing the infringing text. Vistadan12:55, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

@Gcheng94: At first I didn't see any mention of Jaeson Ma as a founder in the article so I thought that his name was mistakenly put in the Infobox. I have since made edits to the Infobox and I have also added his name in the "History" section. Thanks, Vistadan 00:55, 28 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Vistadan: Wiki looks great; I appreciate your help!

Kylie Jenner (regarding Caitlyn Jenner)

[edit]

Hi Vistadan, I saw that you reverted my edit to Kylie Jenner. I had been trying to tighten up the language, and furthermore felt that the phrase "known as" might confuse the reader by conflating gender and other aspects of identity. Had I run afoul of some style or policy in so doing? Thanks, Person man345 (talk) 05:50, 10 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Person man345: Hey, I would have reverted your edit because you put parentheses inside of a link when they could be put by the side, e.g.
Caitlyn (then Bruce) Jenner to Caitlyn Jenner (then Bruce Jenner)
I couldn't find a Manual of Style for this exact scenario, so you are free to revert my revert if you like. Thanks, Vistadan 13:01, 10 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Premature categories

[edit]

Please do not create premature categories such as Category:2020 American television seasons. The inclusion criteria for these categories, which you should know since you created the categories, is "television seasons that have aired at least one episode in 2020". It is now 2019 and no episodes have yet aired in 2020 (obviously) so articles cannot be added to the categories since they fail to meet the category inclusion criteria. --AussieLegend () 09:50, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct AussieLegend, I created the categories prematurely and added Category:2020 American television seasons to Modern Family (season 11) since it's expected to air in 2020 but that would be WP:CRYSTAL, so definitely a mistake on my part. – Vistadan 10:43, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Yay Dad: The reference has the titles of the episodes but doesn't say what episode number they are assigned to. I think we should wait before adding an "Episodes" table for a more reliable source, e.g. official website, press release for the series or The Futon Critic entry for Duncanville. – Vistadan 08:44, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This is catalog of copyright entries. There is no number yet, but these are the official names registered with the US government for copyright. :) Yay Dad (talk) 14:28, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Why did you claim distributors were unsourced when I clearly provided reference. Such bull. :) Yay Dad (talk) 04:31, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Yay Dad: Because you are referencing the copyright owners, not the distributors. Programmes typically have one distributor, e.g. The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, King of the Hill, not three. Vistadan 17:10, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Hamilton 2021 film poster.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. –MJLTalk 23:58, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reversion of Jack's (store) edit

[edit]

Hello mate, I would like to know why you reverted my edit to the Jack's (store) article, as you didn't provide an explanation in the edit history. Unofficialwikicorrector (talk) 17:35, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you deleted this section, without even responding, and when I checked the edit notes, you stated "troll?". I can assure you I'm not a troll, if you check my edit history, you will find all of my edits are factual, with as many citations as possible. You saw my addition and you deleted it, so I'm sure you recall what I added. I don't wish to discuss it directly, as it would be improper, but let's just say I added what I added in order to distinguish the article from a similar term which appears on Google. Unofficialwikicorrector (talk) 02:55, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Unofficialwikicorrector: I don't mean any offence but I initially thought you was trolling so I didn't reply because why would you need to add what you added to a "British discount supermarket chain"? I'm sure the two articles are distinguishable given their polar opposite subjects and article content, but if you think the two might be indistinguishable, then you could create "Jack's (disambiguation)" to clear up any confusion? Vistadan 08:34, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm too inexperienced to know how to create a Jack's disambiguation. Search engines such as Google and especially Bing can group polar opposites together. I'm just talking about search results in general but it may or may not apply to this context.

New

[edit]

Hi just to avoid the confusion, heres the 2nd Page Six source that's in the article. I didn't know there was another one https://pagesix.com/2016/03/27/kris-jenner-deliberately-leaked-kims-sex-tape Aaron106 (talk) 00:43, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In regards to the Kim Kardashian page do you think we should remove (formerly West)? I don't see on Pamela Anderson's page (formerly Lee) for example. The Source was added in March when they were still going through divorce proceedings and the judge announced that Kim could use her surname. Since the divorce has now happened should we remove it? --Aaron106 (talk) 15:40, 24 September 2022 (UTC).[reply]

Update: I've made it simular to how the Pamela Anderson page looks. With her former surname in other names and removed (formerly West) from the lead. --Aaron106 (talk) 15:52, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I just corrected the Kim Karadashian source to reflect what the year says. Hope you have a good day --Aaron106 (talk) 14:12, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Vistadan I was wondering your take on this. Most sources indicate that Kim began working as a stylist to Brandy in 2002 when Norwood had her show that year [1]. In the Career beginnings section it says "By 2003" which has then been used now for the start of Years Active. May this be changed to 2002? --Aaron106 (talk) 23:19, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Aaron106! You could change the year, but it might be better that you ask this question on Kim's talk page for a better discussion with the other editors of her article. Thanks, vistadan 00:49, 4 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent Cadaver Editing Dispute

[edit]

Hi Vistadan,

I'm reaching out because we've been going back and forth on my recent edit to the Excellent Cadaver page. Unfortunately this is inching towards what is cited in the Wikipedia rules as an "edit war", so I wanted to resolve this issue amicably.

My intention with providing a "See also" section was in line with the website's guidelines on Style/Layout (link below with section), in it it says "Whether a link belongs in the "See also" section is ultimately a matter of editorial judgment and common sense. One purpose of "See also" links is to enable readers to explore tangentially related topics; however, articles linked should be related to the topic of the article or be in the same defining category."

Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Layout#See also section

Whether or not you agree that my inclusion of other film production companies founded by screen actors is related enough is up for debate, however I wanted to make it apparent that my edits were in good faith and based on Wikipedia policy and formatting. Below I have also included a template detailing the site's policy on "edit warring". I would be open to discuss a peaceful resolution to this discourse and look forward to working with you.

Best, Legotwin Legotwin (talk) 05:33, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Legotwin: I too would like to resole this issue without any problems. How do we determine the link(s) for Excellent Cadaver's "See also" section, because I don't think adding links to random actor/actress founded production companies that are unrelated to Excellent Cadaver is very helpful for the person reading the article. Thanks, vistadan 14:10, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to propose Apple Studios and A24 as potential See also links, since they co-produced Excellent Cadaver's debut film. Or, similarly but in a more broad sense, having a link to Apple TV+. Otherwise, I think having a link to the List of film production companies and the List of television production companies pages would be helpful to people reading while eliminating the issue of knowing what production companies can/should be highlighted.
There's also the potential to create a post in the Talk page for future discussion. I'd be interested in your thoughts on any of these ideas!
Thanks,

Hi @Vistadan, just wanted to make sure you saw my previous comment.
Best,
Legotwin Legotwin (talk) 08:10, 19 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hey @Legotwin, sorry for the late reply! Apple Studios and A24 are links already present in the article. I agree to the links for List of film production companies and List of television production companies to be included, but ultimately, I still don't believe that any links need to be included in a "See also" section since all the links that are related to the article are already included. Thanks, vistadan 09:36, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
