User talk:Vijaykrishnan.narayanan
December 2019
[edit]Hello. Your recent edit to List of Pennsylvania State University people appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Your user page
[edit]Your user page User:Vijaykrishnan.narayanan should be used to describe you as a Wikipedia editor It should not be used to hold a biographical article (or a draft of one). Please read our guideline on user pages to understand what may and may not be included on a main user page.
I strongly urge you to WP:MOVE (or allow me to move)) the page to Draft:Vijaykrishnan Narayanan. Draft space is the most common location for texts that are intended to be articles, but are not yet ready for the main article space.
I also wish to point out that our guideline on autobiographies, strongly discourages people from attempting to create articles about themselves, largely because it is very hard for anyone to reman neutral about his or her own accomplishments and life. However, many people do attempt such articles, and some are approved.
I also want to point out that Wikipedia only has articles about notable topics and people, and it sues that term in a special sense. Please read our guideline for the notability of academics and the general notability guideline. Normally, several independent published reliable sources that discuss a subject in some detail are needed to demonstrate notability, although there are other possible ways. You might also want to read Your First Article.
If you have any questions about this, you could post at the Teahouse or ask at my user talk page: User talk:DESiegel. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 20:04, 3 January 2020 (UTC)
