The article Petrus Henrici Barchæus has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Probably non-notable figure. Can't find anything on the web on this person.

Articles

[edit]

Victorlarsson: Thank you for including some English in your articles now, but please could you explain what you are doing? Your articles are being deleted as not having evidence of being on topics that are notable enough. Is there any other source other than the church history you are using? Have any of these people appeared in other encyclopedias or dictionaries of biography? Please explain why you are adding them. Thank you. Yngvadottir (talk) 04:11, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Tagged articles about chaplains and vicars

[edit]

The above articles were tagged for WP:CSD because the information appears to be based upon geneaological information and there is no other information that I could find about the chaplains or vicars to determine their notability. It seems the key reason for their inclusion was their having been religious leaders at Gunnilbo parish in Sweden.--CaroleHenson (talk) 04:52, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Victorlarsson (talk)people have nothing better to do, delete my page if you want, maybe learn history or look it up on a real web search like "Google"

The links to the articles nominated for deletion by me and others have been removed from the Gunnilbo parish article. I didn't tag anything for deletion before trying to "google" books and the web for information. Although I am sure there is interesting historical and geneaological information, it does not appear that these individuals meet WP:Notability (people).--CaroleHenson (talk) 07:53, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You may want to read the posting from #Dina bidrag on this page.--CaroleHenson (talk) 07:55, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Victorlarsson (talk) what does this mean then? Probably non-notable figure. Can't find anything on the web on this person to establish notability. Google search link (a).

Look at this one that provides returns for this specific person, not anyone that has part of his name (surname, given name).--CaroleHenson (talk) 08:19, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • In any case the link you give at (a) above returns just 18 results which, by the way we measure things, means totally non-notable. I am very surprised that you have made zero contributions to the Svenska Wikipedia. These people would probably be considered non-notable even there but it is worth a try with a few. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:17, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Victorlarsson: I'm sorry, I had to go to work or I would have tried to explain myself earlier. You are writing up biographies from this book: Westerås Stifts Herdaminne by Joh. Fr. Muncktell. It's an old enough book that there is no copyright problem, but there are two problems from Wikipedia's point of view. One is that you are posting Swedish with very bad translations (abbreviations not expanded, and so on) - possibly done via a translating programme like Google Translate? This means that the material is almost impossible for someone who only reads English to understand. I note also that your Gunnilbo parish article is very different from sv:Gunnilbo socken, and that you do not appear to have edited the Swedish Wikipedia (or had not when I checked before going to work). Like RHaworth, I wonder if you did not realise there is a Swedish Wikipedia, or that they are run separately? The other problem is - we have a notability requirement for a topic to appear in the encyclopaedia. Here is a brief summary; this has detailed requirements for people; but basically, you would need a second book, or an article, or a TV documentary, giving as much coverage to each of these people as that book does. People of very high rank - princes, archbishops, ambassadors, generals, Nobel Prize winners, Olympic athletes - are generally accepted to be notable enough automatically, but not vicars/parish priests. So that is your problem, I'm afraid - you have only one source to demonstrate they are worthy of an article; not everyone is. Yngvadottir (talk) 13:11, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've posted a follow-up question about Gunnilbo parish at Talk:Gunnilbo parish. Your insight would be helpful regarding the list of villages.--CaroleHenson (talk) 19:17, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fresh start

[edit]

Since you are a new editor, I took the liberty to collapse some of the discussions. I hope you find it helpful to have the discussions about non-notable articles collapsed - the number of tags can be overwhelming and hopefully it makes a good fresh start for articles like Gunnilbo parish.--CaroleHenson (talk) 19:41, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Again, took the liberty of moving the last tag into the 3rd collapsed group of non-notable articles.--CaroleHenson (talk) 20:04, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I see in a recent addition to Gaeru of Baekje and Chogo of Baekje you included material from a webpage that is available under a CC-by-SA licnese. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this legal requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 00:00, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It might be the case that the material you added to Gwisil Boksin was a useful addition to the article. I didn't check to see if it was. My main reason for commenting is that when copying material within Wikipedia it must be done in a particular way to properly credit all contributors.

Thanks for creating Dochim, Victorlarsson!

Wikipedia editor Boleyn just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

You created this with a refimprove tag added yourself, and dated April 2008? There is an issue with references, but only that they should all be WP:INLINECITED. Without that, it can't be used effectively by readers for research.

Copying licensed material requires proper attribution

[edit]

Hi. I see in a recent addition to Wutae you included material from a webpage that is available under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this legal requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 00:00, 4 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

WARNING

[edit]

Victor, you don't seem to have responded to any of the messages about this, but your poor article creations are causing a lot of work for others. You are not referencing well, sometimes not referencing at all (see Mōri Suemitsu). You are also ignoring people who have taken the time to contact you, and it is a requirement of Wikipedia that you WP:ENGAGE. Please stop creating articles until you are prepared to reference them properly. If you continue editing in this fashion, this is likely to end up at WP:ANI. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 08:08, 13 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Uehara Motomasa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
