Ulumbarra Theatre moved to draftspace

- Hello there, I'm reasonably certain the article does mean guidelines, there are at least hundreds of pages related to Victoria, Australia with only one or two references and only a single sentence (I am in the process of fixing some of these pages up however). I've made about 20 pages using the same sources, all have been reviewed and accepted. I am open to being wrong though. In terms of notablillty, according to Wikipedia:Notability_(geographic_features):
Populated, legally recognized places are typically presumed to be notable, even if their population is very low. Even abandoned places can be notable, because notability encompasses their entire history.
- The subject of the article being a populated area with almost 1,000 residents means it no doubt conforms to notability guidelines.

Nowa Nowa
[edit]Thanks for adding Nowa Nowa to the List of reduplicated Australian place names — I can't believe I never noticed its absence. Stayed at the caravan park once, never forgotten, a jungle festival of eccentric humor. And the beautiful quirky public petanque court, like it was crafted by Leunig. - I've been editing a lot of pages related to Victorian localities so I hopefully I'll be able to find more missing places from the list. Gotta love Australian place names, they have a certain feel to them that no other country seems to have. The Golden Viatori (talk) 12:34, 13 March 2022 (UTC)

Expansion of WikiProject Bendigo
[edit]Hi Viatori, I have recently been pondering joining your humble WikiProject Bendigo (what a good idea). However, I just wanted to ask your advice about the possibility of expanding the WikiProject.
We could do this by advertising the project to other editors, tagging all Bendigo-related articles with a talk page banner, and adding Article Alerts, article statistics, and any other templates that may be needed to the main page. These steps would make it much easier for the WikiProject members to edit and maintain their articles. This article explains what else could be done with the WikiProject: Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide.
Please let me know what you think. Sincerely, Lotsw73 (talk) 22:51, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, thank you for your message, Sadly at the moment most of our members have been very busy in the real world so the project is pretty dead at the moment. I am hoping to bring it back to life but real world stuff sadly always gets in the way. I agree with all of your propositions here and I welcome new members to the project, we certainly need a way to organise Bendigo related articles and expand the wikiproject to new members.
- Viatori (talk) 01:49, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- Well, taking you and your fellow editor's circumstances into account, would you like me to begin advertising the project and working on these above suggestions with your permission? Lotsw73 (talk) 04:25, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
- That's more than fine, feel free to do whatever you feel will help out. Viatori (talk) 04:57, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

WikiProject Bendigo
[edit]Hi Viatori,
Owing to the lack of participation of WikiProject Bendigo members (including myself), I feel that we will have to postpone the Location of the Fortnight collaboration that we set up.
I doubt many more editors will join the WikiProject, which is a shame. So, considering that we are the most active Bendigo article editors, perhaps just you and I could tackle certain Bendigo articles instead? A few of the localities and outlying towns still need their 2021 populations added...
All the best, Lotsw73 (talk) 12:23, 18 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Lotsw73 Perhaps that is the best plan of attack. Viatori (talk) 13:01, 18 April 2024 (UTC)
Rod Fyffe
[edit]Hi Viatori, I thought I'd pass on the news that former Bendigo mayor Rod Fyffe has passed away. There have been several newspaper articles online that have published obituaries on his life. Perhaps this would be the opportune time to begin an article on him. Would you consider contributing together to create this article? We can begin it as a draft initially and go from there... Mr Sitcom (talk) 13:57, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- I was actually thinking the same thing when i heard the news, it might actually be a good idea to start. I have a book about Bendigo which has a profile on him so that can also be a useful source. I will start Draft:Rod Fyffe. Viatori (talk) 14:35, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- Great minds think alike... I'll see what else I can add to the article. Mr Sitcom (talk) 01:39, 13 July 2024 (UTC)
Mayors of Bendigo
[edit]Hello again! Recently I noticed you added the new Andrea Metcalf article to the WikiProject Bendigo page; nice work with the article! This got me thinking that perhaps more articles about the mayors of Bendigo could be created... What do you think? Mr Sitcom (talk) 05:09, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Mr Sitcom Hi, thanks for your message! I have been considering it and I do want to try to make a page for each mayor (at least post amalgamation). right now I've been working on Draft:Barry Ackerman as he has a page in the Bendigo Local Heroes book, so researching him has not been two much of a challenge, same goes with Margret O'Rourke. After those two pages are created, I suppose going backwards in chronological order wouldn't be too difficult, depending on what you're thinking?
- Viatori (talk) 05:17, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- I feel that is a fair way to go about the task. I have actually placed that book on reserve from the library, so I can take a look and see whether I can add anything else to the articles. Mr Sitcom (talk) 06:20, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Mr Sitcom That's great. there's also some good resources in the upstairs section of the library, although most of it is pre amalgamation and you can't take it with you. the books there did prove to be a useful resource for the Rod Fyffe article however as he had a pre amalgamation career on the council.
