Please note: I am currently on a partial wikibreak. I am primarily focusing on reinstating the Fawlty Towers episode articles. While I will still respond to talk page messages (if any) and matters deemed urgent by yours truly, I will be doing very little editing outside of the prior mentioned edits.

Hello, and welcome to my user page! My name is Mr Sitcom, and I first joined Wikipedia on 15 October 2023.

Before I chose this rather pretentious name, I was known as Lotsw73 (up until 8 June 2024), named after one of my favourite programmes, Last of the Summer Wine, which started in 1973.

How did I get here?

[edit]

Or, the ramblings of a Wikipedian...

I have always had a great admiration for Wikipedia. Whenever I search something on the Internet, a Wikipedia article is still the first thing I look for.

I first started editing Wikipedia under an assumed IP address on 20 September 2020, with this edit on the Hale House (Los Angeles, California) article. From that time until 3 June 2020, with this edit on Here Comes the Queen, I edited intermittently on various articles, mainly to do with sitcoms.

I didn't edit again until 29 August 2023, using another IP address. I continued to make edits in this manner until I decided to create my own account, a decision I am glad to have made.

I have so far enjoyed my time on Wikipedia, and I am glad that I have started editing again after my years in the wilderness.

What do I do?

[edit]

Initially, I edited articles relating to classic British sitcoms, of which I have a keen interest. However, lately I have been branching out and editing numerous articles relating to both British and Australian television in general.

The topics that I most like to make edits to include:

  • film, television and radio (notably sitcoms)
  • actors and actresses
  • fictional characters

I am also interested in improving stub articles.

Goals

[edit]

My current goal is to help repromote Dad's Army to good article status. I also intend to improve the coverage of Australian scriptwriters and Australian sitcoms on Wikipedia.
