[edit]I created "Timeline of future astronomical events" then wanted to rename the page to "List of future astronomical events". So I created another page without knowing I could have simply renamed the first one. No one has edited, or referenced, either page except me. At this point, the first page should simply be deleted. [edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2013 AFL finals series, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Sydney Football Club and Etihad Stadium. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

WikiProject Good Articles - GA Cup
[edit]
WikiProject Good articles is holding a new competition, the GA Cup, from October 1, 2014 - March 28, 2015. The Cup will be based on reviewing Good article nominations; for each review, points will be awarded with bonuses for older nominations, longer articles and comprehensive reviews. All participants will start off in one group and the highest scoring participants will go through to the second round. At the moment six rounds are planned, but this may change based on participant numbers. Some of you may ask: what is the purpose for a competition of this type? Currently, there is a backlog of about 500 unreviewed Good article nominations, almost an all time high. It is our hope that we can decrease the backlog in a fun way, through friendly competition. Everyone is welcome to join; new and old editors! Sign-ups will be open until October 15, 2014 so sign-up now! If you have any questions, take a look at the FAQ page and/or contact one of the four judges. Cheers from NickGibson3900, Dom497, TheQ Editor and Figureskatingfan. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 19:04, 15 September 2014 (UTC) To receive future GA Cup newsletter, please add your name to our mailing list.

Hi Nick. Thank you for your interest in our deletion processes - we need all the help we can get. However, you may need to get up to speed on our latest policies and guidelines, so I'm sure that a good read of these pages will be useful: WP:AfD,, WP:DELETION (especially the section on redirecting as an alternative (because it's a policy), and WP:OUTCOMES, because it documents how we handle several exceptions by common accepted precedent. Thanks. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:21, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
- @Kudpung: Yes I do understand the AFD policies and I have no idea why I put "deleted" instead of "redirected" it was an accidental phrase. I understand OUTCOMES and I know that redirecting, merging and userfying are all alternatives to delete/keep. Please understand that brain-fades to happen and a small note on the AFD is probably sufficient. Anyhow, thanks for alerting me. Also on the AFD you used the acronym AFC which is, as you know, Articles for creation. It would be good to change it - -- NickGibson3900 Talk 05:31, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing that out; if I make an obvious blatant typo in a place where it matters, please feel free to change it on the fly. No need to even tell me about it ;) Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:19, 16 September 2014 (UTC)
Discussion on deletion of Mallory Haldeman
[edit]I do want to take a moment to directly apologize to you if my discussion points on the deletion of Mallory Haldeman are beyond what normally would be posted, especially due to the fact you feel the article should remain. I just feel what the discussion has become is more about whether the sport of fitness and figure competitions is legitimate or not. At this point, I really have no more information to provide, so can only let the process play out and hope that the article is not removed from the the site. DYK for Little Athletics
[edit]On 17 September 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Little Athletics, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the founder of Little Athletics once turned away three young boys from an athletics meet, citing their youth as the reason? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Little Athletics. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

[edit]Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to List of international cricket five-wicket hauls by Mitchell Johnson may have broken the syntax by modifying 3 "[]"s and 3 "{}"s likely mistaking one for another. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
