Abusive and hurtful edits

[edit]

Stop adding copied content that does nothing but hurt this article. Pasting information copied word-for-word from somewhere else will only flag the article for deletion...it's already been deleted once, and just scraped by another recent -- legitimate -- deletion flag. Having a NYT profile as proof of notability is no small thing, so it says a lot when even such a stellar source is little defense against stupid editing. If you can't -- or won't -- edit this article according to WP:RS and WP:BLP, then please leave it alone. Flowanda | Talk 06:25, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And this article is not going to survive too much more abuse: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/All Star Cashville Prince. Flowanda | Talk 06:37, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Established notability

[edit]

I'd like to see the notability tag removed. The NYT profile establishes notability and discusses the lack of news coverage this artist has received, which should help dispel any WP:BLP1E issues. What may be causing problems is the poorly sourced Discography section (which should be removed until it can be better sourced) and the ongoing editing abuse (whether promo spam or in good faith) this kind of article suffers. • A one time article, even in the NYT, doesn't equal notability. Especially when the article is from 2008, talking about how he has been "the next big thing" for so long and still hasn't made it......then a year later, he still hasn't charted. That NYT piece illustrates why he is NOT notable more than it establishes notability. Niteshift36 (talk) 04:55, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm inclined to think it fails notability too. Jason Quinn (talk) 19:19, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As I replied on my talk page, a single article may not be enough alone to establish notability, even when it is a profile in the New York Times, not just, say, a directory listing sourced from other websites, such as the major source that was cited for, say, Peter Hudecki. However, it's not clear to me if writer Kelefa Sanneh was a NYT staff writer, or even if that, or the publication date, matters to an encyclopedic article. As before, I offer to help out with sourcing for this very complex article, but don't want to duplicate the searches already done to come up with the opinions cited above. Flowanda | Talk 04:54, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And I had no idea there was a second AfD until the closed discussion was listed here. Flowanda | Talk 22:53, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And continued abuse by IPs and SPAs to restore their version of the article doesn't mean the article needs to be deleted, just monitored. Flowanda | Talk 03:19, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sourcing research

[edit]

Raw for now and not intended to prove notability or meet WP:RS to include in article, but help in research and weeding through all the similar names and nicknames.

It's a start. Flowanda | Talk 02:46, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
