Apologies. I forgot I'd made that comment at the talk page, so when I moved the page I did not go there and see your comment. I would not have straight-moved it if I'd seen that. However, I disagree with your rationale for keeping it at the old 'made-up' name. I've made another post at the article's talk page. What do you think about adding 'Norway' in brackets instead? Hi there MENTOZ, how's it going?
regarding this message you sent to this anon user (please here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:78.181.145.35), he does not seem to care, as least in Mehmet Topal the TOTAL number of caps continues to be inserted.
Happy Saturday, from Portugal - --AL (talk) 21:29, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
- Sometimes these messages work, sometimes they don't. I don't really care that much, but I revised his edits to find out s/he added incorrect stats to 4-5 articles. Next time you see s/he add incorrect stats, you may simply add a Template:uw-error2 or Template:uw-error3 message to the user's talk-page (that is easier then to make me write a message on the user's talk-page, isn't it? :P) and if s/he continues with the disruptive editing pattern, the user will be blocked in a couple of weeks. You seem to have removed my edit to the vålerenga football page.
Martin Andresen quit as the manager for Vålerenga in October, and should therefore not be cited as the current manager on that page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.161.198.225 (talk) 15:23, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
- You are incorrect - Vålerenga announced in October that Martin Andresen will resign after the season, and that's why I reverted your edit. But now the season is over, so I won't revert you again if you change the current manager from Martin Andresen to Vacant, but I encourage you to write a sentence in the prose about it with a citation to a reliable source when you change it. Norwegian vandal
Hi there MENTOZ, AL "here",
don't know if this is the same guy that you and User:Struway2 talked about earlier in this page, but he's also up to no good, removing several info in boxes of players just because (namely B or C clubs - example Real Madrid C or FC Barcelona B). This is the IP (please see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/88.89.136.46), what do you think can be done?
Attentively, happy weekend - --AL (talk) 00:37, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
- It's definately not the same guy, it's a completely different edit-pattern. I've looked through all of his edits since 26 November, and there aren't many positive contributions there, and I reverted much of it. What needs to be done to vandals like that, is that they need to be warned for every vandal-edit they do (start with {{uw-vandalism1}}, continue with {{uw-vandalism2}} before you warn with {{uw-vandalism3}} and {{uw-vandalism4}}) and report at AIV if/when they don't stop the vandalism. But as far as I know, there isn't much we can do about vandals without warning them first. Mentoz86 (talk) 08:06, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Welcome to the 2013 WikiCup!
Hello, Mentoz86, and welcome to the 2013 WikiCup! Your submissions' page is here. The competition begins at midnight UTC. The first round will last until the end of February, at which point the top 64 scorers will advance to the second round. We will be in touch at the end of every month, and signups are going to remain open until the end of January; if you know of anyone else who may like to take part, please let them know! A few reminders:
- The rules can be found here. There have been a few changes from last year, which are listed on that page.
- Anything you submit must have been nominated and promoted in 2013, and you need to have completed significant work upon it in 2013. (The articles you review at good article reviews does not need to have been nominated in 2013, but you do need to have started the review in 2013.) We will be checking.
- If you feel that another competitor is breaking the rules or abusing the competition in some way, please let a judge know. Please do not remove entries from the submissions' pages of others yourself.
- Don't worry about calculating precisely how many points everything is worth. The bot will do that. The bot may occasionally get something wrong- let a judge know, or post on the WikiCup talk page if that happens.
- Please try to be prompt in updating submissions' pages so that they can be double-checked.
Overall, however, don't worry, and have fun. It doesn't matter if you make the odd mistake; these things happen. Questions can be asked on the WikiCup talk page. Good luck! J Milburn and The ed17 23:21, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Don't Delete FC Seoul transfers list
Individual clubs transfer list is also notable. Not notable is just Cloudz679's opinion. I don' understant why do you delet detailed article? Transfer list By nation or Transfer list By club are both informative. As you Know I invest much time to write this article. But you want to delete by just your private opinion. private opionion was just 3-4 lines to write 1-2 minites. I really have spectisism on wikipedia. I crated and improve this article 3 years. But this article can delete by just 2 person's private opinion to write 2 minites. In this manner Who contribute articles on wikepdia.03:19, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

HIFK
Hi.
REF: HIFK (Wikipedia)
The clubs real name is: Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna, Helsingfors rf. Please read the sources (www.ifk.fi) mentioned in the article. Also the chairman and the board of directors is also mentioned in the same source.
It is obvious that you and other persons are a bit confused with all these "HIFK-clubs".
Two finnish authors (Kauhala/Hannula) wrote a book about HIFK (Salakuljettajista suomen mestareiksi)but unfortunatelly they transalated wrongly the swedish text into finnish. In the original swedish text it is said that the club "Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna" was established in Helsinki 1987. The finnish version tells the reader that the club "Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna i Helsingfors" was establihed 1987. As you might know there are a lot of IFK-clubs in Sweden. They are all "Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna" -clubs. To show where the club comes from you mark it with a comma after the name and add the city, town...Like IFK, Göteborg,.. IFK,Stockholm,.. IFK,Växsjö,.. IFK, Luleå, ... IFK, Värnamo,... IFK, Malmö.
However, I would suggest that if you want the HIFK-page only to include football (soccer) please write it in this way: HIFK (Football). The wright way would, of course, be to use HIFK Soccer rf., which is the club that represents HIFK. Kimmo Niemistö is the chairman of HIFK Soccer rf. (not ry.). The football first team plays currently in KAKKONEN and the new coach is Jani Honkavaara. The news can be read on the official site: www.hifksoccer.fi The home ground 2013 is Töölön Pallokenttä.
What comes to "Notable Former Players" you can of course add anyone to the list. It is ones personal opinnion. However, Jussi Leppälahti is not a player you can compare with the other names on the list. With less than two seasons in KAKKONEN (third level) he is far from a notable player. This must be a joke.
Best regards,
Klaus-Dieter Klaus-Dieter (talk) 08:28, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hi there, and thank you for this comment. Just to clarify, you came here because of this edit? I have to admit, as a Norwegian I don't have much clue about Finnish football, but I do have the article about HIFK in my Watchlist. But when I looked at your edits, I couldn't know if it was true because you didn't include any reliable sources to back it up, and I didn't get why you did the changes because you didn't wrote an edit summary to explain it. Regarding the name in the infobox, as the article is about the whole club, the name should be HIFK, but moving the football-section into its own article titled HIFK Soccer rf. could be done. I don't know what's best of Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna, Helsingfors rf or Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna i Helsingfors, but it should be noted that the articles about Swedish IFK-clubs are located at IFK Göteborg and IFK Malmö not IFK, Göteborg and IFK, Malmö, but I guess we can change it when the club states that "Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna, Helsingfors rf" is their name. Nothing should be subjective in an encyclopedia, and the famous players-section should have a clear inclusion or exclusion criteria (the Malmö FF article is a good example of how this could be done) but I've removed Jussi Leppälahti from the section after your explaination. However, you changed the founding year to 1998 - what is your reasoning behind this? It would be terrific if you updated the article with new chairman, coach, league-position and so on! I would also recommend you to join the Finnish football task force, where you'll find editors with more knowledge about Finnish football then myself, like User:League Octopus. Happy editing! Mentoz86 (talk) 14:51, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
Hi.
I do not know and have no time to find out the right way to answer your meaage. Seems to bee very complicated this wikipedia.
However, I did mentione the source in my text. Maybe not inte proper way but anyway I did. Please, read the information you will find in the first source on the original text written by you (www.ifk.fi). Here you find the right and official name of the club.
Secondly, as you say the page is for the whole club, not only football. If that´s the way please take away the information you have in the "apebox" to the right. From the source www.ifk.fi (also in swedish) you can see that the club has no coach and the chairman is not Kimmo Niemistö.
Why I changed the year founded) to 1998 is beacause you have mixed the HIFK-football club (HIFK Soccer rf.) with the main club (Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna, Helsingfors aka HIFK). HIFK Soccer rf. was founded 1998 and its chairman is Kimmo Niemistö and the headcoach is Jani Honkavaara (was Juha Moilanen). All these information you can find at www.hifksoccer.fi (also mentioned as one of the sources in you original text.
As I earlier said it is not easy for anybody to know what or when or who when talking about HIFK, HIFK (Ice-hockey), HIFK (Football), HIFK (Handboll). One excellent example is that also the finnish media cannot make or see the difference. They talk about HIFK when talking about HIFK (Football) or HIFK when talkkinga about HIFK (Ice-hockey). They mixe the persons working in the several HIFK clubs. The former chairman of the main HIFK-club (Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna, Helsingfors rf.) sent for several years to the finnish media an explanation about and within the HIFK-clubs and asked the media not to mixe the clubs and persons. No result. The Finnish media talks aboy HIFK, no matter wich sport. The reason to this is the club it self. Earlier in the history the club (Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna, Helsingfors rf.) was divided into sections depending on the sport (Football, ice-hocke, handball...). Today all sections have been seperate and independet clubs with a special agreement with the main club. That´s why all clubs are HIFK and all persons work in HIFK. If you want to be very exact HIFK has won 7 finnish campionships in football. HIFK Soccer rf. has won nothing. Still it is the same clubs football team. Did it make any sense?

Hi there M86, AL "here",
i apologize for my mistakes in this player's page. However, let me comment on them bit by bit: in EARLY YEARS, no need to explain or defend myself, i did not pay attention and made the sentence's display very poor, thanks for "fighting" me there :)
In categories, i think with all my heart and soul that we could have both categories (PEOPLE FROM RIGA and SPORTSPEOPLE FROM RIGA), i don't think that's overcategorizing, they're athletes but also human beings no? Regarding some parts of storyline (which i will now compose if you don't mind), i don't think there's the need to say "he scored X goals and played Y games for Z club", that's merely duplicating the infobox (please note that i removed the sentence "played 79 games and scored four goals", but left the reference (http://www.altomfotball.no/element.do?cmd=player&personId=93382), which backs your storyline additions that we was first-choice without "repeating" the box.
Now, i ask a small favour: could you please provide TRANS_TITLES for some of the new refs in Norwegian you added to the piece? Thanks in advance. And can we keep the clubs' names in storyline in full please (compression in box)? Last but not least, even if in EARLY YEARS that turned out to be a mistake from me, in CLUB CAREER we can very well replace "Demidov" with "he" or "the player" after the first reference in each paragraph, no need to write his name all the time.
All in all, sorry for any inconvenience, i congratulate you on the great improvement on the player's page! Happy 2013 - --AL (talk) 22:55, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
- M86 sounds nice, got me thinking of James Bond instantly :P But no worries AL, it's the "fighting" you mention that makes it fun to write wiki-articles. I think it's more fun when I have another editor is following me from his watchlist, and can correct my mistakes, then having to work all by myself ;) I've seen people with both "people from city" and "sportspeople from county", but a general rule in categorisation is that when a article is member of a cat, that article is also a member of every category further up in the tree, without having to display those on the page. That means that when Demidov is a member of "sportspeople from Riga", the article is also a member of "sport in Riga" and "people from Riga" and so on. The infobox and the lead are supposed to be duplicate, ideally it's shouldn't be any information in the infobox or the lead that can't be found in the body of the article. I'll try to keep the German, Swedish (and also Spanish?) club-names unpiped, but Norwegian club-names are like the English ones; the two "extra" letters is just not used when talking about the club, it's just part of their name. If you don't pipe the names, you could link to the redirects Hødd, Fram Larvik, Manglerud Star instead ? :P The reason I use "Demidov" instead of "he" or "the player", is because people have been correcting me at other articles when I've used the name to little. But go ahead and change it if you'd like, and as long as "he" doesn't refer to his father or the swimming-trainer, I'm happy ;) I'll provided trans-titles later today. Hi there MENTOZ, AL "in the house",
can you please send a message in Norwegian to this VANDAL (let's try it as a last option)? He keeps removing stuff at will (B-clubs, etc) from infoboxes, did it yesterday (so it's a quite active IP one could say) at Víctor Valdés (please see here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=V%C3%ADctor_Vald%C3%A9s&diff=535201090&oldid=534974342)? I doubt it's a language problem, but can't hurt to try i think.
If they do not reply, we'll (you, or i if you don't want to) then get in touch with administration to take action. Can you lend a hand please? Thanks in advance and happy week --AL (talk) 16:20, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

WikiCup 2013 January newsletter
Signups are now closed; we have our final 127 contestants for this year's competition. 64 contestants will make it to the next round at the end of February, but we're already seeing strong scoring compared to previous years. Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) currently leads, with 358 points. At this stage in 2012, the leader ( Grapple X (submissions)) had 342 points, while in 2011, the leader had 228 points. We also have a large number of scorers when compared with this stage in previous years. 12george1 (submissions) was the first competitor to score this year, as he was last year, with a detailed good article review. Some other firsts:
- 12george1 (submissions) was also the first to score for an article, with the good article Hurricane Gordon (2000). Again, this is a repeat of last year!
- Buggie111 (submissions) was the first to score for a did you know, with Marquis Flowers.
- Spencer (submissions) was the first to score for an in the news, with 2013 Houphouët-Boigny stampede.
- Status (submissions) was the first to score for a featured list, with list of Billboard Social 50 number-one artists.
- Adam Cuerden (submissions) was the first to score for a featured picture, with File:Thure de Thulstrup - L. Prang and Co. - Battle of Gettysburg - Restoration by Adam Cuerden.jpg.
Featured articles, portals and topics, as well as good topics, are yet to feature in the competition.
This year, the bonus points system has been reworked, with bonus points on offer for old articles prepared for did you know, and "multiplier" points reworked to become more linear. For details, please see Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring. There have been some teething problems as the bot has worked its way around the new system, but issues should mostly be ironed out- please report any problems to the WikiCup talk page. Here are some participants worthy of note with regards to the bonus points:
- Ed! (submissions) was the first to score bonus points, with Portland-class cruiser, a good article.
- Hawkeye7 (submissions) has the highest overall bonus points, as well as the highest scoring article, thanks to his work on Enrico Fermi, now a good article. The biography of such a significant figure to the history of science warrants nearly five times the normal score.
- HueSatLum (submissions) claimed bonus points for René Vautier and Nicolas de Fer, articles that did not exist on the English Wikipedia at the start of the year; a first for the WikiCup. The articles were eligible for bonus points because of fact they were both covered on a number of other Wikipedias.
Also, a quick mention of The C of E (submissions), who may well have already written the oddest article of the WikiCup this year: did you know that the Fucking mayor objected to Fucking Hell on the grounds that there was no Fucking brewery? The gauntlet has been thrown down; can anyone beat it?
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! AfD rationale
Hi, regarding your question on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Soma Novothny (2nd nomination)' I went with a new AfD since since the last AfD he signed for a fully professional club. The concerns of the last AfD weren't fixed, but it wasn't "sufficiently identical" as required for the speedy reason.Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 09:43, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi there; I'm afraid I've removed a few of the DYKs you claimed, as they were very much last year's articles. WikiCup 2013 February newsletter
Round 1 is now over. The top 64 scorers have progressed to round 2, where they have been randomly split into eight pools of eight. At the end of April, the top two from each pool, as well as the 16 highest scorers from those remaining, will progress to round 3. Commiserations to those eliminated; if you're interested in still being involved in the WikiCup, able and willing reviewers will always be needed, and if you're interested in getting involved with other collaborative projects, take a look at the WikiWomen's Month discussed below.
Round 1 saw 21 competitors with over 100 points, which is fantastic; that suggests that this year's competition is going to be highly competative. Our lower scores indicate this, too: A score of 19 was required to reach round 2, which was significantly higher than the 11 points required in 2012 and 8 points required in 2011. The score needed to reach round 3 will be higher, and may depend on pool groupings. In 2011, 41 points secured a round 3 place, while in 2012, 65 was needed. Our top three scorers in round 1 were:
- Sturmvogel_66 (submissions), primarily for an array of warship GAs.
- Miyagawa (submissions), primarily for an array of did you knows and good articles, some of which were awarded bonus points.
- Casliber (submissions), due in no small part to Canis Minor, a featured article awarded a total of 340 points. A joint submission with Keilana (submissions), this is the highest scoring single article yet submitted in this year's competition.
Other contributors of note include:
- Sven Manguard (submissions), whose Portal:Massachusetts is the first featured portal this year. The featured portal process is one of the less well-known featured processes, and featured portals have traditionally had little impact on WikiCup scores.
- Sasata (submissions), whose Mycena aurantiomarginata was the first featured article this year.
- Muboshgu (submissions) and Wizardman (submissions), who both claimed points for articles in the Major League Baseball tie-breakers topic, the first topic points in the competition.
- Toa Nidhiki05 (submissions), who claimed for the first full good topic with the Casting Crowns studio albums topic.
Featured topics have still played no part in this year's competition, but once again, a curious contribution has been offered by The C of E (submissions): did you know that there is a Shit Brook in Shropshire? With April Fools' Day during the next round, there will probably be a good chance of more unusual articles...
March sees the WikiWomen's History Month, a series of collaborative efforts to aid the women's history WikiProject to coincide with Women's History Month and International Women's Day. A number of WikiCup participants have already started to take part. The project has a to-do list of articles needing work on the topic of women's history. Those interested in helping out with the project can find articles in need of attention there, or, alternatively, add articles to the list. Those interested in collaborating on articles on women's history are also welcome to use the WikiCup talk page to find others willing to lend a helping hand. Another collaboration currently running is an an effort from WikiCup participants to coordinate a number of Easter-themed did you know articles. Contributions are welcome!
A few final administrative issues. From now on, submission pages will need only a link to the article and a link to the nomination page, or, in the case of good article reviews, a link to the review only. See your submissions' page for details. This will hopefully make updating submission pages a little less tedious. Good luck!
