Truce?

[edit]

Ultramarine, I am really getting tired of this revert war.

  1. You keep needing to discredit Wing's study by coatracking him. If you had ever had written a scientific paper and have had it published, you would know that you can submit it to several peer reviewed Journals after it has gone through the peer review process. So stating that his article had been rejected by three different journals is actually irrelevant, except to discredit the source.
  1. You keep needing to insert [failed verification] behind a reference to the Greenpeace article you can't seem to locate even though the link works fine. It appears that you did not read the article. I know this is one of the tactics to remove a dissenting statement and its reference.

why??? Kgrr (talk) 13:55, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 06:19, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Stopping by to leave a note

[edit]

Your presence on Allegations of State Terrorism by.... is not unwelcome. However, you have already been reminded at least two times to please float controversial edits on the discussion page before committing them to the article. This is something the editors on this page have already long adopted as the means to avoid edit wars and is, in fact, wikipedia's suggested policy. I think i speak for all of the other editors when i say that, for the sake of avoiding edit wars and keeping a productive environment on the article, we do hope you'll abide by wikipedia policy and guidelines when introducing content changes.

Further, i would personally like to point out that, while your presence is not unwelcome, your recent behavior seems to smack of wikistalking. Your reappearance on the Allegations of State Terrorism... coincided with my own re-appearance on the Sandinista page. Since then, it has appeared that your entire activity has been repeated attempts to:

  • Force through POV alterations to the article which suffer from such poor grammar and syntax that they are indecipherable
  • Contest minor points of content which you had previously accepted and, in some cases, openly validated
  • Delete content without first making inquiries or suggestions on the discussion page.

I am assuming that your behavior in these respects is unintentional. The overall picture, however, does suggest that there may be a problem with WP:OWN at work, here.

For my own part i am willing to work with you. I do, however, hope that you will work within the suggested guidelines of the page so that we may avoid an edit war. If i remember correctly, the last time this page suffered an edit war was also the last time you were actively editing it. I think it would reflect badly if one were to break out again, now. Stone put to sky (talk) 07:49, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please spare me any personal comments and use the talk page of the article for a factual arguments.Ultramarine (talk) 07:52, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
These issues concern you personally and are relevant to no specific page in particular. That is what user talk pages were made for, no? Please: take my observations to heart. Stone put to sky (talk) 08:04, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Your many personal attacks against me has been noted earlier. I prefer a factual discussion.Ultramarine (talk) 08:08, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
So please -- correct me if i'm wrong -- but with that comment you appear to be saying that, because you feel i have personally attacked you in the past (an assertion i deny, by the way), you are not obliged to work in a consensual manner with the editors on the Allegations of State Terror.... page?
Can we count on your cooperation with the established editing guidelines on that page? Or are you rejecting our attempts to cooperate with you? Stone put to sky (talk) 09:32, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I will always follow the policies of Wikipedia and cooperate to create an NPOV, V, and NOR encyclopedia.Ultramarine (talk) 09:35, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

[edit]

You're on your own at the state terrorism article. I just don't have the energy or patience to argue with a brick wall. I would highly recommend placing neutral and polite notices on WP:NORN and WP:RSN asking for outside opinions about the matter without framing the issue in one way or another. (I.e. Is this original research? (section link) ... or ... Are these reliable sources for these claims? (claim quote, source list)) Sorry, I just don't have it in me to endlessly argue.
