Help on Photo Deletion
Hi, I'm writing in regard to photo "My Father's Jacket" that was deleted because of a duplicate. I'm relatively new editor and I originally uploaded the wrong photo which is why there was a duplicate image. The one you deleted was the image authorized for publication by the author. Is it possible for the one you deleted to be restored and the other image deleted? Thanks Niknakc (talk) 17:06, 8 January 2016 (UTC)

The Proud and Damned
Hi,
I'm the guy who originally asked about the pagename change for this page. I have watched the movie, the correct title is absolutely The Proud and Damned. The image originally displayed on the page was from a re-release DVD using the wrong name. Sorry for being so inept at the Wiki thing, thanks for your help. 50.48.219.102 (talk) 14:04, 13 January 2016 (UTC) Steve

thank you - i will look through you link for help!!
thank you- yes I have no conflict of interest, as i do not know them personally. I have been asked by a third party to help them get the correct information cited as they do not know how to use wikipedia. The current wikipedia page is libelous. It is clearly written with a storng negative directive and is made by parties wishing to dissent and cause harm to the person upon which they created the page in the first place. It is probably illegal. I do not know. I do not care- other than to be true to my word and help where i can to put up veriefied information that is not slanted. In either favor or dissent. Just the truth. verified. cited. available to the public.
as it stands now- this is not a factual use of wikipedia- and is in direct contect to everything Wikipedia stands for as an institution.
If I was running wikipedia- I would take one look at this page and take it down for slander and complete misues, misinformation and defamtion.
any help you can provide to help me make this page accurate if it cannot be removed- would be so helpful!
I do not quite understand how to attach links and cite each fact I have the information, biography and everything else.
I want this page to look like ALbert Einsteins page or any figure- in that it is information about someones life and work - and not a run on sentence of negativity like it is now.
its embarassing this page even exists in this form.
But i understand WIkipedia is very large and does its best to provide tools- regardless of peoples intentions.
any help is greatly appreciated!
Im looking here andit says " This article must adhere to the biographies of living persons policy, even if it is not a biography, because it contains material about living persons. Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately :
the cite link for an artice on that page is from a persons Facebook post! it is definitely falling under the category of "poorly sourced" as it mentions a lawsuit. Yet there is no mention of the lawsuit cited in any official capactiy that would be properly sourced- such as a court filing- or a news article.
how do i get that removed. and have a watch put on the peron who cited it?
it is from facebook. anyone can post anything on facebook - that is not a source of any reputable distinction- especially in lieu of a lawsuit defaming the person of which this page is representing to the public.
help!? :)— Preceding unsigned comment added by Maritmemaine (talk • contribs)

Bishop Ronald Wilson
My page, Bishop Ronald Wilson, was deleted last night. I had asked for an explanation as to why this page was any different than all the pages I've looked at for people who well known in their particular area. There was nothing seeking to promote the individual nor was there any type of appeal that would benefit the individual. It was purely informational. I would like to know what can be done to reinstate the page and an explanation as to what was wrong with it. I will appreciate any help you can give. The bio that was questioned was written by a friend who gave permission for its use wherever needed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bishop Ronald Wilson (talk • contribs) 13:37, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

Christiane Woopen
Hi Ukexpat,
Could you please explain why Guerillero was in such a hurry to delete the article I created as I explained why it is of international interest and how it will be expanded in the future that you probably have read: "This article is required with respect to a multitude of foreign guests coming to Germany for the Global Summit of all National Ethics Councils/Committees in the world. Participation has doubled with respect to the previous summit in Mexico 2014, and quite a number of foreign guests as well as observers will be interested in learning more - in English - about the President of the event. The article is by the way connected with a German, longer version, which may serve as a basis to expand the English version as soon as possible. So please do not delete it - the article may be just in time."
( The copyright issues mentioned by the automated "copyright violaton mechanism" are unfounded as the CV published on the Webpage of the German Ethics Council is not their intellectual property but has been provided by the described person herself. These concerns should just be dismissed, and I would be glad to have some help on that. Kind regards Doubledoc (talk) 02:56, 4 February 2016 (UTC) /// In the absence of an acceptable license we must assume that the text and image are copyright. There is a process for confirming release of copyright, see WP:DCM.--ukexpat (talk) 04:18, 4 February 2016 (UTC) /// Wikipedia has its own purposes, Doubledoc: arguments on the basis of some other organisation's purposes have no significance in deciding whether articles should be deleted or not. --ColinFine (talk) 10:02, 4 February 2016 (UTC) )
Could you please elaborate somewhat more on how the incriminations on copyright can be amended/ resolved?
Why hasn't Guerillero followed the rule mentioned in G12 that non-infringing content on the page worth saving can remain and that earlier versions without infringement should be retained?
As for ColinFine's comment, I just do not get it - Wikipedia's purposes comprise, in my view, to provide knowledge about topics, persons, places etc. noteworthy of interest for many persons, and I cannot see that there is a problem if other organisations consider the topic likewise as important, e.g. Wikipedia itself on its German part.
As this is my first article, I am confident that the problems I encountered can be fixed. I had outlined earlier in particular, that the biography is of high current interest for a large world-wide community of medical and ethics practitioners from more than 110 countries who convene in March 2016 in Berlin under the presidency of the person described and are certainly interested in such an article with references. The person is by the way already acknowledged in Wikipedia as noteworthy of interest in its German part (see https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christiane_Woopen ), with which I had created a cross-reference.
So I kindly ask to restore the article, preferebly as uploaded or to the extent compatible with applicable rules, giving me indications how to complete it in such a way as to abide by those rules.
Kind regards --Doubledoc (talk) 11:26, 4 February 2016 (UTC)

Question on article
Hi,
Back on Jan 18 you jumped on a question I asked about Heineken Green Room in Singapore which has since been deleted. I have run across another article that is not quite so blatantly promotional, but is still questionable. I asked about this here but no one has responded, so I thought I would ask you directly. I'm more than willing to tag it myself or nominate it for deletion. Before I do either, I'd like another opinion on how to handle this from someone with more experience.Mb66w (talk) 02:28, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry, that Help Desk link doesn't go to any section. Which article are you referring to? Let me know and I'll take a look.--ukexpat (talk) 02:31, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
