Confirming your identity
Hello! I would like to confirm that you are the person who contacted me about getting my company listed on WikiPedia. Can you please prove this by telling me my work email address?
Thanks! Sommer73.19.55.101 (talk) 17:56, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- It's not clear what you are referring to. If you mean an e-mail that you received in response to one you send to the Foundation, please respond to that e-mail. If you are referring to something else, please clarify.--ukexpat (talk) 18:09, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- I was contacted by someone offering to get our company page listed on Wikipedia and they referred to this profile as proof of their identity. If you/that person are one in the same, you'd know who I am and what I was referring to, so I will take this as evidence that they are not who they said they were.
- Thanks for your time! Sommer73.19.55.101 (talk) 18:42, 9 June 2015 (UTC)

My entry
Hi Ukexpat
I have added references as requested by Melcous. Is there anything else I need to do? If not, how do I get rid of the warning message? Is this something you can do for me? Thanks InternetAU (talk) 13:23, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

Thank you so much for fixing the Shirrel Rhoades reference issue. I would like to fix the photo date as it should read 2012 and not 2007. Can you tell me now to do that? I will try again so maybe I can figure it out. But I still am not sure what I did wrong to cause the numbers to appear at the bottom without any words. Can you point me in the right direction so I understand how to correctly add references? Keywestbookworm (talk) 17:57, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
- Looks like you fixed it. By the way, for further help with referencing, please see: WP:REFB.--ukexpat (talk) 18:06, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

Teahouse Post
Ukexpat I was scrolling through questions at the teahouse to see of I could learn something I didn't known I needed to learn from them. I noticed your short comment under the question 'Is Wikipedia bias' and thank you for it. The use of the word 'bias' rather than 'biased' bothered me too. - @Ukexpat: If you don't mind, may I ask if you just comb through Wikipedia pages/teahouse posts for that sort of stuff, or whether you have a special bot/program/project that helps you find grammar mistakes and typos? BluJay (talk) 01:49, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

BLP/N
Hi Ukexpat, I saw you haunting the BLP noticeboard so I picked you at random to see if you could give me some guidance. There is an RfC at Talk:Bella and the Bulldogs that may present some BLP concerns although the article isn't itself a BLP. Is it worth posting anything at BLP/N to solicit other input for the RfC or would that be an inappropriate use of the noticeboard? Feel free to reply here if ya like. Thanks much, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:37, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
- I think a message at BLPN would be completely appropriate. BLP issues are serious so they need to have as many eyes on them as possible, especially those of BLPN regulars.--ukexpat (talk) 20:40, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

Jeananne Goossen birth year in omnilexica
Dear Ukexpat, my name is tam goossen, Jeananne's mother and am new to Wikipedia. I tried to edit Jeananne's Wiki page a couple of times without success but now I understand why and I'm learning.
I like the page very much but am concerned that the wrong birth year (1970) contained in reference #2 has now been repeated all over the place and is very confusing to folks who care about Jeananne's career.
The proof I'd like to offer is a reference in a book called: Jin Guo Voices of Chinese Canadian Women, produced by the Women's Book Committee of the Chinese Canadian National Council and published by Women's Press in 1992 (ISBN 0-88961-147-5). On p.220 there is a brief bio of me: "Tam Goosen was born in Hong Kong in 1947 and immigrated as a single woman to Canada in 1970." In fact I didn't arrive in Toronto until September 1970. Thank you for your attention.Tamyuntai (talk) 19:29, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

- Thanks for the message. First, I have removed the commentary that you added to the article itself. Content issues should be dealt with on the article's talk page. Second, I don't see how the reference helps with her date of birth one way or the other. What we need is a reliable source that directly supports the correct date and does not require the reader to draw inferences to reach the conclusion. Until then, the correct approach per Wikipedia practice is to leave out a date of birth completely. If you want to discuss this further please do so on the talk page or at WP:BLPN.--ukexpat (talk) 19:38, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
