Trojan Times
[edit]Re-worded the part on the Trojan Times since the "Unfortunately, " gives it a tone that is biased and not factual per Wikipedia guidelines. Also removed the part that claimed that the journalism class was cut due to mid- late- 2000's recession, since there is no reference. The reference cited mentioned nothing of the journalism class having to be cut and mainly talked about re-structuring the elementary school system to save money. For all we know it just wasn't a very popular elective class. Most electives that have 30+ kids dying to take it each semester never get cut no matter how bad the economy is. --jr
The discussion of the school newspaper should indicate when the publication began. Was the Trojan Times a print or online publication? For many years, the LHHS school paper was The Compass. At least part of the time it was a monthly page made available by the Morning Record newspaper and later was printed using an offset process and distributed at the school supported by advertising sales. Rotating class schedule
[edit]Does anyone remember the crazy rotating class schedule where you had 7 classes but only 6 met each day. I can only remember the first couple of days of the order of the classes.
123456 213745 321467
Just curious if anyone remembers the rest. I believe that they dropped this rotation in the late 90's and now it's a simple rotation schedule
123456 234567 345671 456712 567123 671234 712345 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.109.146.27 (talk) 22:28, 21 August 2012 (UTC) There was a rotating schedule until the early 1970s as well where one period was longer than the others to provide extended instructional time in that class once every seven school days, which was useful to accommodate science labs that couldn't easily be finished in the normal 40 minutes or so. It was eliminated around 1972 in favor of giving students in co-op vocational programs the opportunity to leave early in the afternoon for their co-op jobs. Was it brought back later? I'm not sure the schedule merits discussion in the main article, however.Conchubair (talk) 04:49, 3 January 2013 (UTC)Conchubair
