Orphaned non-free image (Image:BOM Rex.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:BOM Rex.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Fair use rationale for Image:Child come away.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Child come away.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calvin 1998 (t-c) 05:29, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Is there nothing online? You'd be correct in thinking that my musical interests don't lie in that area although I'm not sure what would have given that away. I can only assume that they don't have many fans so you were expecting it. But it seems they are both Irish so they might be worth looking into since they fall into what I usually involve myself in. :) --Candlewicke Consortiums Limited 17:26, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
- Well I'll let you know if I unearth anything. It's certainly a challenge for a rainy day. :) --Candlewicke Consortiums Limited 17:57, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit]I rewrote Jack in the Box (song) and I think it would be good for a DYK, but I need a few more sources. Would you like to help? I think the best DYK hook would be her getting death threats from the IRA. Mike H. Fierce! 02:00, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- You're right! I just went to the Pomme video and she is indeed wearing hot pants (in an overall set!). I'll alter the sentence. Mike H. Fierce! 14:41, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

One Hundred And SIXty Thousand
[edit]Oh that brings back some vague memories. I can't say for certain, although in the heat of the moment and with the buzz that was created it wouldn't surprise me if it were true actually. Especially having just run it through Google and discovered the British version managed that in one day. So that could signal a mix-up between the two or it could offer some perspective that it would actually have been possible to reach that figure at the time. There is this link too but it was written this year so it could easily have used the article as a source.
As for Fáilte Towers, well I felt it was about time I did a television article and, having watched a few episodes and winessed it become this moment's buzz TV show with lots of media attention, I thought it would be worth it giving it a go. So I'm glad it's having an impact. :) Are you in Ireland at the minute or in the UK? --Candlewicke Consortiums Limited 15:32, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- Well I'm young enough but I have more important, significant, relevant, happier, sadder, deadly, moist (adds more superlatives) memories of 2002 than a failed pop group that made little enough impact outside their own country. I'm not entirely sure it's something for a country to be proud of although it seems to be attracting foreign interest so good luck to it. I think I'd reserve any national pride and admiration I might possess for something more useful, recent examples such as the Olympic team or someone such as Pádraig Harrington (this bearing in mind I have very little interest in golf) springing to mind. Ah, Reading. I watched some of their games when I had some real interest in football (I've become a bit disillusioned in recent months). They were given some coverage here what with Kevin Doyle, Stephen Hunt, Shane Long, etc. I'm in Donegal. I'm not sure there's any connection with Bord Fáilte; it's just your typical reality television show full of "celebrities" with favourite charities. Although this one seems to be getting a bit more mention in the media than some of RTÉ's more recent attempts - and that without any shipwrecks or underage auditionees, something for which they surely deserve an award! --Candlewicke (Talk) 19:10, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

One Day at a Time
[edit]I see that you've added a request for an infobox on One Day at a Time (song). However, I think in this case it's not entirely appropriate since the article is more about the song than a specific version of it. The article lists 4 notable versions, so obviously all different labels, producers, song times etc, so it would be hard to decide which version gets a box. It could be argued I suppose that the original should get the box, but I think it's not the most significant version or the most well known, but I could be wrong. (I'm not really a country music fan)--Tuzapicabit (talk) 01:30, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- Good point. I still think that all singles should have the {{Infobox single}} whenever possible. Maybe someone will come up with a compromise. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells • Otter chirps • HELP) 01:31, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Eurovision 81.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Eurovision 81.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

New Eurovision translations
[edit]I decided to put my translation work to good use and put together Eva Santamaría and Anabela for en. Tell me what you think! (On a non-Eurovision note, Two Working Men will be on DYK soon.) Mike H. Fierce! 09:41, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
I have started a Wikipedia:Request for comment on this topic at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on ESCKaz reliability. This discussion originates from questions on the reliability of the ESCKaz website and if it should be used in Eurovision articles on Wikipedia. It has now being extended to fully review all sources used in articles covered by WikiProject Eurovision, including ESCToday and Oikotimes. This is a very important issue to the project as sourcing is a key part of articles, and consensus needs to be reached on which sources should be used when, where and how. This discussion however has so far lacked a wide range of editor participation, and as you have listed yourself as a member of WikiProject Eurovision I invite you to add your thoughts. In particular more input is needed from editors which have a high level of experience with relevant guidelines/policies such as Wikipedia:Reliable sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability, and who have up until now stayed outside this debate, though all contributions are welcome. Thank you. Camaron | Chris (talk) 11:09, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
