Question

Hi Shruti! May I ask, why have you duplicated the WP:HINDU page. Everything appears twice! If you were unware of this, I will probably revert it unless you can explain to me what you are trying to do. Thanks GizzaDiscuss © 22:50, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

SORRY about this... you can probably tell, I'm new to this. I was trying to edit something else not realizing that the code I entered actually DUPLICATED the page, not fixed the mistake... Anyway thank you for fixing it... Sorry again for the problem Shruti14 ( talkcontribs ) 21:03, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Happy Independence Day !!!
Dear TrulyShruti,
India is celebrating 60 years of Independence, a joyous day for all Indians to celebrate. Lets make a resolution to make India beautiful and fight against terrorism and anti-social corruptions. Follow the steps of Mahatama Gandhi. On wikipedia do the following on this occassion:

Being a proud Indian I take this as an occasion to wish you and your family the best in the days to come on Wikipedia and in real life. Happy Independence Day 2007!!! and Happy Wikipediaing Sare Jahan se achha ye Hindustan Hamara -- Amartyabag TALK2ME 05:42, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Kalki Purana

I think the article needs to be switched to present tense or even past tense (like the book) to cut down on the overwhelming number of future tense statements like "this will happen". A single sentece could explain that even though it is written as a group of events that are currently or have already happened, it is actually a prophecy that has yet to take place. This would match the statment from the lead, which is supposed to be a summary of the entire page. --Ghostexorcist 20:18, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Hmm... sounds like a good idea, it would solve the problem of all of those future statements. I just hope it doesn't give people the impression that it's not a prophetic work... but you're right, I guess we could just write that it is a prophecy at the top. Right now, I'm trying to find articles about other prophetic works to see what they did... Also more information needs to be added to the Kalki Purana article than the events... I'll see what I can do about that... Shruti14 (talkcontribs) 18:27, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Should I go ahead and make the change? OR another idea... some of the prophecy-related articles are written in either progressive tense (i.e. "he would do" or "he will do" instead of "he did") or present tense. Should either of thses be used? Shruti14 (talkcontribs) 14:41, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
If the majority of prophecy articles are in the progressive tense, then just leave it as is. --Ghostexorcist 19:03, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Did you find the original Kalki Purana texts on the internet? If so, you should add a link to the external links section. --Ghostexorcist 19:11, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
OK, as per your suggestion, I will leave it as is for now. Yes, I did find the Sanskrit text on the Internet, here. Thanks for the reminder - it has been added to the External Links section. --Shruti14 t c s 19:17, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Harry Potter roll-call

Hi there. Your username is listed on the WikiProject Harry Potter participants list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active on the project. Your name has therefore been moved to a "potentially inactive" list. If you still consider yourself an active WikiProject Harry Potter editor, please move your name from the Potentially inactive list to the Active Contributors list. You may also wish to add {{User WP Harry Potter}} to your userpage, if you haven't done so already. Conversely, if you do not wish to be considered a member of the WikiProject, leave your name where it is and it will be moved to the Inactive Contributors section. If you wish to make a clean break with the Project you may move your name to the Known to have left section. Many thanks.
Added my name to the "Active Contributors" list. --Shruti14 t c s 00:08, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

My God, Shruti; you know soooooo many languages at such a young age? I really appreciate that! --Pinaki ghosh 13:56, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I really owe that to school and my multilingual parents!! I love to learn different languages. --Shruti14 t c s 02:31, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Hey Shruti, since you seem to be interested about learning languages, here is a brief resource for learning the basic expressions of another language: Bengali (Bangla), the 6th most widely spoken language in the world. This will add a new feather to your cap. :)

For WikiProject Hinduism, the link to join is here. It's just like editing a Wikipedia article, only that you add your name to the list. After that, you are a member of that project. On the pages of the other WikiProjects, there will be a "Participants" page. Edit the page according to the instructions of the page (by clicking the 'edit' link) and add your name. Leave me another message on my talk page if you are still confused. To add your name, type this: [[User:Kishorepatnaik]] or {{user|Kishorepatnaik}} .--Shruti14 t c s 21:51, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
