Joining the Project
[edit]Hi Kishore Patnaik, I saw your message on my talk page. Which project did you want to join? --Shruti14 t c s 21:53, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- Did you want to join WikiProject Hinduism? To join, just add your name here and you may join the WikiProject. --Shruti14 t c s 21:57, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- There is also a WikiProject India if that was what you were looking for. If there are any others you want to join, let me know and I will find out how to join for you. Usually there is a link on the main page of the project. --Shruti14 t c s 22:01, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- For WikiProject Hinduism, the link to join is here. It's just like editing a Wikipedia article, only that you add your name to the list. After that, you are a member of that project. On the pages of the other WikiProjects, there will be a "Participants" page. Edit the page according to the instructions of the page (by clicking the 'edit' link) and add your name. Leave me another message on my talk page if you are still confused. To add your name, type this: [[User:Kishorepatnaik]] or [[user|Kishorepatnaik]] .--Shruti14 t c s 21:51, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

- Kishorepatnaik, the Recent Additions page is only for writing stuff that has already appeared on the front page. You need to make your submission to the did you know page here [T:TDYK] on the appropiate place (make sure that the article follows the rules posted there before posting your suggerence), and the people there will decide it they will include it --Enric Naval (talk) 17:35, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Panduranga page
[edit]That link redirects to Krishna. --Shruti14 t c s 17:03, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- I agree as well, and hope to bring the discussion to Talk:Krishna and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Hinduism/Vaishnavism so that the appropriate changes can be made. I cannot change them myself without consent from the group and someone removing the redirect. --Shruti14 t c s 17:20, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- I am a Vaishnava and have joined as Shruti. --Shruti14 t c s 17:28, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Elephants
[edit]The information was never in the main article, but I do remember an article I saw a LONG time ago about the ancient Indian military according to the Hindu scriptures... I can't currently find the article. --Shruti14 t c s 04:52, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- I am so far unable to find it. Unfortunately it really was a long time ago (several months ago, when I first joined Wikipedia), and I don't even remember what the title of the article was. --Shruti14 t c s 23:12, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
I had previously tagged it for weasel words because it had contained weasel words such as "is often mentioned as the best", which are not allowed under Wikipedia policy (see WP:AWW). I have now edited the article so that the weasel words are replaced by allowed words, have removed the "weasel words", and replaced it with an "expand" tag, since the article needs expansion. --Shruti14 t c s 23:14, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
I won't post my email online for safety reasons but if you click on Special:EmailUser/Shruti14 and send me a message that way, I will receive your message and email you back by replying to it. --Shruti14 t c s 00:20, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Notability of Ancientindia
[edit]A tag has been placed on Ancientindia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- Shadowlynk (Talk) 07:12, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Deletion review for Ancientindia
[edit]An editor has asked for a deletion review of Ancientindia. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedy-deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. -- Suntag ☼ 18:22, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
- also even tho gwen was later on less polite, the links she gave were the wikipedia rules, so please read. thanks, 71.153.24.2 (talk) 03:27, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
hi kishore patnaik
[edit]hi kishore patnaik, i think some other people are angry wtih you because they think u havent been reading the wikipaedia policy, and sometimes you may have unknlowingly done mistake without knowing it was against the wikipedia policy, so please read to not make the mistake, like you said with the weasel word and the article on gewn's talk page, you can know what the policy are and not make mistake again intentionally. i will try to help so other people wil not be angry with you and you wont make mistake.
- wikipedia policy is the rules and any link with wp: or wikipedia: in title is policy or rule, please read and follow
- ancient india yahoo group is good and i will join maybe soon, but wikipedia doesnt allow such groups to be posted because there are hundreds of such groups and anyway they are of little importance when compared to the article of the topic about india, no? so please only post on user talk page and dont ask to distribute the message to others, you should email instead the link to the people to invite them
- also please sign all post on talk page (not article page) with ~~~~ every time, no need to write name after that
- also please read wp:n, this is why some of your artiles were deleted, it may not be correct but now when you say the deleted article meets wp:n they will not delete if you can tell them why it is important to wikipediaa
- also please dont say bad things about others like gwen is grouch and things like that - its not only mean but also against the rules (see wp:npa) - its considered a personal attack against other editor like gwen so even if she is mean do not call her that plaese
thank you, hope you will be good respected editor here in wikipedia. good luck. 71.153.24.2 (talk) 03:25, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Articles for deletion nomination of Abhimani
[edit]I have nominated Abhimani, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Abhimani. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

[edit]Hello, I'm Hzh. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Telugu language, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.
