ATP
[edit]Since it looks like you're doing a series of ATP articles, would you mind spelling out at least once in each article exactly what ATP actually means? It would give the articles a lot more context. 71.204.176.201 (talk) 08:00, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Hi - Quick Request
[edit]Can you tag the talk pages of any new articles you make with {{WP-Tennis|class=|importance=}}? Importance should be mid for e.g. ATP Buenos Aires and 2006 Indian Wells Masters, and low for e.g. 2004 ATP Buenos Aires (not a Masters tournament), 2006 Indian Wells Masters - Men's Singles and 2004 ATP Buenos Aires - Singles. I know WP:Tennis doesn't have a history of tagging its articles well but I'm in the middle of a bit of a tagging spree, and when I finish soon then hopefully all articles should be tagged. But any that have been created since I started are liable to get missed. Thanks a lot, rst20xx (talk) 20:39, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- Also, please make sure you follow through and make any categories you list, for example Category:2005 ATP Buenos Aires, which I just made. Please tag any categories you create with {{WP-Tennis|class=Cat|importance=NA}} - rst20xx (talk) 20:51, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- And another thing. May I recommend Template:TennisEvents2 and Template:Draw key? For use, see here - rst20xx (talk) 21:01, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you! rst20xx (talk) 21:01, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Your tennis articles
[edit]Hello, I've noticed you started to create articles for the tournament currently taking place in Valencia, including the 1997 and the 1998 ones, and yet, have continued to name them "Open de Tenis Comunidad Valenciana" (Valencia Community Tennis Open). It makes, of course, no sense, and wasn't the tournament's name at that time. In 1996-1997, the event was held in Marbella, and was named the "Marbella Open", and from 1998 to 2002, it was held in Majorca and was named the "Majorca Open". You should move the pages you've created and rename them according to the actual name of the event, and also refer to recent tournament articles (like 2008 Romanian Open or 2008 Legg Mason Tennis Classic) to see what the consensus is in terms of style for these articles. Thanks, --Oxford St. (talk) 12:50, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
- By the way, I'm not even sure the first event of '95 which was held in Valencia was named "Open de Tenis Comunidad Valenciana", as the tournament's website says the '08 edition was the 6th of the "Open de Tenis Comunidad Valenciana". Research needs to be done, but I guess it would be safer to re-name the first event "Valencia Open". --Oxford St. (talk) 13:02, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
- I have modified the tournament's template, renaming the first edition "Valencia Open", and the following ones "Marbella Open" and "Majorca Open". I'll let you move the actual articles, since you're working on them. --Oxford St. (talk) 13:42, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
Your tennis articles - Munich
[edit]Hi, I've noticed your started to work on the tournament currently named BMW Open. You should know these Munich articles currently have the same problem as the Marbella/Majorca ones - the Munich event wasn't always known as BMW Open. You should do some research before starting your work on an event - some googling can be very effective, very quickly, and it would avoid some mistakes. As for the BMW articles from 1974 to 1981 you've already created, I guess they should be moved (not cut and pasted). Cheers, --Oxford St. (talk) 22:00, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Masters Series
[edit]Hi there, I saw that you had been doing singles draws and main pages for the Hassan tournaments. I wondered whether you would help me in creating draws for ATP Masters Series/Super 9 tournaments. I have been working on creating main articles (see template below). Thanks. 03md (talk) 16:08, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
{{ATP Masters Series/Super 9 tournaments}}
- When creating categories for the German Open (men's tournament), please can you name the Category:ATP German Open because there is also a WTA German Open. You've made a good start with those articles. 03md (talk) 08:35, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
- I have moved the Indian Wells articles to their appropriate names e.g. Newsweek Champions Cup and the State Farm Evert Cup. 03md (talk) 21:16, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
- I saw you had edited the name of the 1990s editions of the Canada Masters in the Masters Series templates. According to the Canada Masters#History article it only became known as the Du Maurier Open in 1997 and was simply known as Canadian Open between 1990 and 1996. Do you know whether this is the case? Also, when writing scores in the lead and infobox of singles boxes can you write them using endashes (written as: –). Thanks. 03md (talk) 18:43, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
I thought I should let you know that I have added links to singles and doubles draws on the ATP Masters Series/Super 9 template so you can easily tell which draws have been created (see below). Hope this helps. 03md (talk) 22:11, 18 November 2008 (UTC) {{ATP Masters Series/Super 9 tournaments}}
Are you still doing the Masters singles draws because I noticed you had been doing Open Gaz de France articles recently. 03md (talk) 16:58, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
2009 Wimbledon Championships
[edit]I don't know what you mean here - I have redirected the French and USO articles too. I believe it's too early to create these, since they provide no other info than the dates of the events, which can be found on the 2009 ATP World Tour page, but if you really think they're still useful to some readers, feel free to revert my redirects. Cheers ! --Oxford St. (talk) 15:49, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Tennis
[edit]I saw you had been adding extra info to the PBZ Zagreb Indoors article. I decided to add the previous tournament categories to the infoboxm as well as World Series and 250 Series templates. On the International Series template it shows the tournament as "1998/2006–2008 Zagreb/Split" and I realise that the tournament was not played in Zagreb again until 2006. Do you know whether the Split tournament (played on only one occasion and won by Ivanisevic) was a replacement for Zagreb and, if not, could you create a separate article to avoid confusion. Cheers. 03md (talk) 23:26, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
I noticed you had moved the 2006 Miami Masters to 2006 Sony Ericsson Open but according to the main wiki article, it was still the NASDAQ-100 Open in 2006. Which is the right name? 03md (talk) 22:18, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
- Do you know whether the events held in Brazil prior to 2000 such as Guaruja, Sao Paulo etc. are all part of the Brasil Open or if they were completely separate tournaments. I went to the ITF site and it is not clear because there are so many different listings for Brazilian tournaments. Also, was the women's event held from 2000 to 2002 a continuation of a former event or was it part of the ATP Brazil Open for this period. Cheers. 03md (talk) 11:25, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- Hi there. I know you're currently doing the draw articles for each of the Masters Series/Tier I events. On the main pages would you be able to check and correct dates because the ATP/WTA and ITF websites give different dates for tournaments such as Indian Wells. Also, on the draws themselves could you add the correct documentation template (i.e. TennisEvents for mixed events (e.g. Miami), TennisEvents2 for single events and TennisEvents3 for Indian Wells (prior to 2000), Canada and Cincinnati. This is to make sure that the correct colours are added, as I have done for this Cincinnati article. I have added some such as Pacific Life Open to the template but feel free to add them. Let me know if you are unsure what I mean. Cheers - keep up the good work. 03md (talk) 23:18, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- Another thing I forgot - could you also add a short lead to the draw pages following this format:
a)If the defending champion/s retain/s their title, write "X was/were the defending champion and won in the final (score) against Y".
b}If the defending champion/s loses earlier in the competition, write "X was/were the defending champion/s, but lost in the [round] to Y. A won in the final (score) against B".
c)If the defending champion/s did not compete write "X was/were the defending champion/s but did not compete that year. A won in the final [score] against B".
This is to prevent the articles being tagged for lacking a lead section. I have gone through some of the articles that you have started and added this. Cheers. 03md (talk) 16:25, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
TennisEventsInfo Template
[edit]Hi there, I realise what you are saying and thought I had reverted this (but evidently not) - feel free to remove the extra paramater. What I was trying to do was put in a link to the next year's draw (e.g. on the 1985 Lipton Championships - Men's Singles I wanted to link to 1986 Lipton Championships - Men's Singles, as is done with the links between main pages). I have realised it is difficult to do when the naming is not consistent. 03md (talk) 20:09, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
- It doesn't seem to be possible but I will keep trying (see my edits on Template:TennisEvents and Template:TennisEvents2 to see the difficulty I'm having. 03md (talk) 20:30, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
Tennis before 1988
[edit]Do you have much of a knowledge about the tennis circuits before 1988 for women and 1990 for men. The ATP/ITF/WTA websites do not make it clear the categories that tournaments fell into (unlike the recent Masters Series/International Series etc). I think it is important that we create templates and individual yearly pages for these tours. Thanks. 03md (talk) 14:09, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the information. I have had a look at the page for 1987 on the ATP site and there only seems to be one WCT event, at Dallas. Is this correct? If the data is accurate I will create templates for the circuits and add them to the Lipton Championships page etc. Thanks. 03md (talk) 16:36, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- Do you know why the WCT tournaments stopped after May in 1983 and 1984 - were all the tournaments after this point in the year part of the Volvo Grand Prix? 03md (talk) 18:16, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- I have started creating templates for the Nabisco Grand Prix such as
- , which I have added to the Lipton Championships page. It is not yet complete. 03md (talk) 10:47, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- Could you check the 1987 Nabisco Grand Prix template for any errors, such as incorrect tournament names. I will then create similar templates for 1988 and 1989. I think some of the sponsorship names need to be made clearer in the main wiki articles. 03md (talk) 22:30, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I was going to put them as opens but left it up to you. Another query: do you know what the sponsorship name of the San Francisco tournament in 1987 because the wiki article just says it has had a number of different names. Cheers. 03md (talk) 09:18, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- Hi mate, I have created articles for most of the remaining ATP World Series tournaments (Donnay Indoor Championships, Toronto Indoor and Madrid Tennis Grand Prix which you might like to cleanup and add remaining results to). I was wondering if you knew or could find out if the tournaments played at Tampa from 1981 to 1983 (firstly on hard and then carpet in 1983) and the one from 1991 to 1993 are connected. I will create a page either way. Can you also look through the now complete 1986 Nabisco Grand Prix template and make any necessary link changes. 03md (talk) 22:44, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, I saw that you were doing articles for the WCT season-ending championships and decided to create templates for each year of the WCT tournaments (when separate from Grand Prix). I have so far done 1973, 1974 and 1975, while 1972 was already done. Could you check the links on the templates because I am not sure about the correct names so most have been put as "[Year] [Location] WCT". I am not sure how many of the WCT tournaments currently have main articles. Thanks. Keep up the good work. 03md (talk) 23:36, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your checks. Would you mind doing the same for 1968, 1969, 1970 (only one tournament as far as I can tell but template created for cohesion), 1971 and 1976 - 1977, 1982, 1983 and 1984 are on the way. I will then do the other Grand Prix templates to complete the job. 03md (talk) 22:29, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- Do you happen to know the official name for the WCT Doubles Finals because there is no wiki page. Also, should the 1982 Winter tournament in Detroit go on the 1982 or 1983 template because it was played in 1983. Cheers. 03md (talk) 11:29, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Categories
[edit]- OK, I deleted those categories and removed them from the articles. I think that's probably better, since they likely wouldn't contain anything else. Good Ol’factory (talk) 21:12, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Sydney Indoor
[edit]Hi. Some more information has been added to the Sydney Indoor article about the official tournament names. Could you move the tournaments you have already created to their correct names. Cheers. Keep up the great work. 03md (talk) 17:12, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of 1987 CA-TennisTrophy - Doubles

More templates
[edit]I have today managed to create templates for the WTA from 1995 through 1999, using the accurate tournament names. Could you check through these and the men's templates that I have worked on. Thanks. 03md 23:24, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hi mate, The WTA templates from 1988 to 1994 are now all complete, so could you check the links on these. Well done with all your work on the tournament pages. 03md 21:59, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
I notice that this category you created is unpopulated (empty). In other words, no Wikipedia pages belong to it. If it remains unpopulated for four days, it may be deleted without discussion, in accordance with Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#C1. I'm notifying you in case you wish to (re-)populate it by adding [[Category:1990 Grand Prix Hassan II]] to pages that belong in it.
I tagged the category. This will not, in itself, cause the category to be deleted. It serves to document (in the page history) that the category was empty at the time of tagging and also to alert other watchers that the category is in jeopardy. You are welcome to remove the tag if you wish. However, removing the tag will not prevent deletion of the category if it remains empty.
If you created the category in error, or it is no longer needed, you can speed up the deletion process by tagging it with {{db-author}}.
I am a human being, not a bot, so you can contact me if you have questions about this. Best regards, --Stepheng3 (talk) 03:42, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Tennis articles
[edit]On the tournament articles, in the section saying about the number of titles won by a player, is the figure just for the tournament type they are involved in (i.e. singles or doubles) e.g. Cara Black has won about 60 doubles titles as well as a handful of singles titles. 03md 12:30, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
- If you get a chance, would you mind adding a little bit more info to the article on the founders of the Virginia Slims Circuit, the "Original 9", which I started yesterday and is up for a DYK entry. 03md 14:36, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- That's great thanks - it's made it so much clearer. I am currently trying to expand upon the article for Valerie Ziegenfuss and Allison Bradshaw - I need to get to 1500 characters of prose for DYK. I will make sure you are credited. 03md 17:43, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

1980 Volvo Grand Prix
[edit]Hey mate, Great work with all the tennis articles. Would you mind checking through the 1980 Volvo Grand Prix template which I have now finished. Quite a lot of the links need amending as pages do not currently exist with the correct names. If you get a chance, could you create some of the missing pages, with "Defunct tennis tournament" infoboxes and navbox templates, as well as adding the tournament to the List of tennis tournament articles. I will try and complete all the Grand Prix templates for the 1980s quickly. Cheers. 03md 12:48, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- Could you now do a similar thing for the Template:1981 Volvo Masters - there are again some tournaments missing a wiki page. Cheers. 03md 08:51, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
WTA templates
[edit]Hi mate, Could you check through the tournament names and layout of the 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1983 WTA templates. The other WTA templates for the 1980s will be finished shortly and then articles can be created for each year. Cheers. 03md 20:49, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- Can you look at the 1984 to 1987 templates and create pages for those events that are not currently covered, if you get a chance. 03md 13:43, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- After looking back at a previous discussion I have realised that the name on the templates may need to be changed to Virginia Slims World Championship Series for some of the years. Would you be able to do this if necessary. I have also started creating 1985 tournament articles but some of them are missing main articles e.g. VS of Denver, VS of Pennsylvania - it would be great if you could check through the 1985 template for missing main pages and create them using info from French wiki. There are also instances such as Gastein Ladies where the older editions of the tournament are listing on the French article but not the English. Thanks. 03md 10:17, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
New tennis comments
[edit]Hey mate, Thanks for your great work on the tennis tournament articles. If you get a chance, could you cleanup this page which I have just finished adding details to. I think that I have included all the WTA Tier III tournaments but I may have missed some and the general formatting of the table may need to be cleaned up. I will endeavour to do the same for the Tier II, Tier IV and Tier IV tournaments. Thanks. 03md 10:10, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- Can you try and add interwiki links into your tennis articles - I know for a fact that French wikipedia has articles for all the tournaments you are currently creating - just search on French wiki "Saison 1983 de la WTA" and click on "tableau" to take you to the individual pages. 03md 09:49, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
1996 tournaments
[edit]I just thought I would let you know that I have revamped the 1996 WTA Tour page, using the style favoured for the 2009 page. Could you check it to see I haven't made any mistakes. Good work on the 1996 tournament articles. Will you be doing the 1996 ATP tour articles afterwards? 03md 15:52, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
- Would you be able to just check through the tournament names in the Template:1996 ATP Tour as I suspect some, such as ATP Washington, are wrong. I can then develop the 1996 ATP Tour article and create individual tournament articles. Thanks. 03md 18:33, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
- If you get a chance, please can you create draw articles for the 1996 ATP tournaments as I start new pages and cleanup existing articles. Thanks. 03md 09:09, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
Dear WikiProject Video games member,
You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in recent months.
The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.
All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:
- Editing video game-related pages in the Article namespace
- Participating in video game-related discussions in the Project namespace (WT:VG, WP:AfD, WP:GAN, etc.)
Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.
Cut and paste move
[edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give WTA Leipzig a different title by copying its content and pasting it into Sparkassen Cup (tennis). This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Hi mate, Just a couple of queries. I have created an article for the 1996 ATP Singapore Open but was not sure about how to name it. There was a WTA Singapore tournament that ran until 1994 and various other sports have a Singapore Open e.g. Singapore Open (golf). It would be confusing if there was 1996 Singapore Open (tennis) when they are separate tournaments, despite one becoming defunct.
Also, should mixed doubles victories be included in tournament wins for players on articles e.g. Todd Woodbridge won about 8 Grand Slam mixed doubles titles but they are not listed on the ATP site. 03md 14:12, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
- Can you perform that merge for me as I'm not quite sure how the page should be arranged. Thanks. 03md 22:58, 8 October 2009 (UTC)
Tennis draw articles
[edit]Hi mate, I have made some changes to Template:2009 WTA Tour to incorporate links to the singles/doubles/mixed draws in the template and the same is planned for other years. When you create draw articles, could you therefore add the relevant navbox e.g. Template:1997 WTA Tour so that users can navigate between different singles draws more easily. Can you add it to any other draw articles that you have created. Thanks. 03md 19:44, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- Could you help me apply the changes to the other WTA and ATP tournaments. The templates can then be applied to all existing draw articles (hopefully using a bot). 03md 20:19, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- I have added all the tournaments from 1989 with a WP article to Template:1989 Nabisco Grand Prix so can you add the template to the singles and doubles draw articles as you create them. Cheers. 03md 14:02, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
Dear Totalinarian,
You are receiving this message because either [[Category:WikiProject Video games members]] or {{User WPVG}}

You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 20:38, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on 2002 Kroger St. Jude International – Men's Doubles requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Oddbodz (talk) 17:06, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
The article 1999 Toray Pan Pacific Open has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- I could not find significant coverage of the subject in reliable source. Delete per WP:GNG.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Odie5533 (talk) 23:50, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

1996 Fed Cup
[edit]Just saying that since the ITF refers to the World Group as the "World Group" and not "World Group I", I have replaced all the pages that say "World Group I" with merely "World Group". Hope this is O.K. with you.
However, I am unable to change the page 1996 Fed Cup World Group I to 1996 Fed Cup World Group, because there is already a redirect page by the name of that. So as such I was wondering if it would possible if I could remove it. You see, I'm a stupid person, and I have no idea whether to delete or merge the pages (I have attempted to read the WP policies, but I find it rather convoluted). I was wondering if you're OK with what I'm doing, and if you could let me know how to go about it. Sorry for the inconvience, but I would like to get these things right. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment.
