Just a quick note to congratulate you on the promotion of Freedom from Want (painting) to FA status recently. I know you know all about WP:TFAR (specific and non-specific date slots) and the "pending" list, so this is just a reminder to use them as and when suits you. Many thanks. Actually, I think that editor wasn't quite finished with the article at the edit-a-thon, and its notability right now is questionable based on the current sources, so it might be better to leave it in the sandbox page for now. I, JethroBT drop me a line 02:05, 5 September 2014 (UTC)- Scratch that. I've dug up some sources and, at least for beekeeping, the subject seems notable. WikiProject Good Articles - GA Cup
WikiProject Good articles is holding a new competition, the GA Cup, from October 1, 2014 - March 28, 2015. The Cup will be based on reviewing Good article nominations; for each review, points will be awarded with bonuses for older nominations, longer articles and comprehensive reviews. All participants will start off in one group and the highest scoring participants will go through to the second round. At the moment six rounds are planned, but this may change based on participant numbers. Some of you may ask: what is the purpose for a competition of this type? Currently, there is a backlog of about 500 unreviewed Good article nominations, almost an all time high. It is our hope that we can decrease the backlog in a fun way, through friendly competition. Everyone is welcome to join; new and old editors! Sign-ups will be open until October 15, 2014 so sign-up now! If you have any questions, take a look at the FAQ page and/or contact one of the four judges. Cheers from NickGibson3900, Dom497, TheQ Editor and Figureskatingfan. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 19:04, 15 September 2014 (UTC) To receive future GA Cup newsletter, please add your name to our mailing list.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Old Chicago Main Post Office Twin Towers, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Twin tower. Query
Hello, my name is Nate Banks and I am the guy holding the bullhorn in your pic of 2004 Obama's Float in the Bud Billiken Day Parade. I need help. Before the float began, I was standing in my blue Obama shirt, with my Son on my shoulders. Mr. Obama walked up to me, grabbed my right hand, 1st Lady Michelle Obama grabbed my left hand and grabbed my ex's hand, and the 4 of us put our arms up in victory, with my Son on my shoulders. I am trying to track down that pic. Can you help me. My email is nabanks1@yahoo.com. Thank you very much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.16.129.2 (talk) 17:19, 17 September 2014 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Greg Mathews (American football)
Tony -- I am going through the Michigan players who have articles that probably shouldn't. I've nominated a couple today including Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Greg Mathews (American football) and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ricardo Miller. These are examples where we (you in the case of Matthews and me in the case of Miller) created articles that in retrospect were premature. Please feel free to comment at the AfDs and also to let me know what you think. My plan is to start sifting through a number of "iffy" Michigan players for possible AfDs. Elite 89 Award and triathlon
I noticed you reverted a change I made to Elite 89 Award. I had specifically added triathlon as a new NCAA emerging sport. While there are many sources available for this fact, I think the best one is from the NCAA itself, which lists triathlon as such. The NCAA Division I and Division II manuals for 2014–15 (see the main Division I and Division II articles for references) also include scholarship limitations for that sport. Just wanted to enlighten you. :) — Dale Arnett (talk) 23:14, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
