Tony would you please stop canvasing for the deletion discussion. It would be sad to see repercussions happen because of it. Also, The WP:public domain page says this at the top

DYK for Love, Loss, and What I Wore
On 2 May 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Love, Loss, and What I Wore, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the Los Angeles Times calls Love, Loss, and What I Wore a The Vagina Monologues-What Not to Wear mix, and The New York Times calls it a "show about matters of the heart and matters of the closet"? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. In all honesty, I suspect the easiest way of dealing with the March Slav would be to contact the band's conductor directly. Ask for the debate to go on hold while it is, under the presumption that the U.S. obeys copyright laws =) Adam Cuerden (talk) 14:58, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
RE: Template:Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song 1980–1999
The page is not wrong, it is bad organized. Ffor expample, the template should go with A Love That Will Never Grow Old and its two main composers, Gustavo Santaolalla and Bernie Taupin, but no with Emmylou Harris because she didn't work on it and didn't won the award. You should look song by song and add the template to who won the award, similar to Template:AcademyAwardBestOriginalScore 2001-2020. Tbhotch* ۩ ۞ 03:33, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Colonel Bogey.ogg
A tag has been placed on File:Colonel Bogey.ogg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}

You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. "Here We Go Again (Ray Charles song)"
Wow, thank you so much. I'll fix the links you asked me to, and yes, I feel an infobox for Sinatra's version should be included. Novice7 (talk) 16:29, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- I've added the chronology and fixed the Billboard links. I didn't add the infobox for Sinatra version because I want to know your opinion before adding it. Novice7 (talk) 16:59, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- I'll add more information to the article and will upload the cover art. For finding all the entries of a particular song, you could try artist "song". Sometimes a few issues won't come up and we'll have to manually find them. Novice7 (talk) 04:19, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- I searched for the 2011 version. The song has not been released and has not charted. Whether or not it would be released as a single is still unknown as no websites seem to say about the track's individual release. Novice7 (talk) 04:43, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- I found the cover art for the 7" single (link). Can I upload it? Novice7 (talk) 05:05, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, I'll upload it now. Novice7 (talk) 05:09, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- You can fill the artist as Ray Charles and title as Here We Go Again. The duet version charted as "Here We Go Again" – Ray Charles with Norah Jones. Also, I can see that Sinatra version charted for two weeks. The issue dated May 31, 1969 is missing from the Billboard archive. Novice7 (talk) 06:29, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- I was referring to Hot 100 alone. It can be found on the same search website. You can view it by selecting All Weeks(Artist or Title required) option. Novice7 (talk) 06:42, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

There is a cover in that album, but I think that there were no singles released previously to the release date of the album itself.--GDuwenTell me! 21:33, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
I did not heard about any singles of that album released for a specific date, mostly in Willie's site (which I visit frequently) always is detailed in the news section when singles or other things related to albums are released. After a Google search, there were no interesting results, rather than the release date of the whole album. Anyway this might (or not) be useful--GDuwenTell me! 21:53, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

I guess that works. My objection is not to it being classified as a country song, but it should be added to the category properly, and Category:American country music songs is ideally for artist subcategories only. As long as it's in the categories of the country artists who performed the song, it's redundant to also include it in the main category. Eric444 (talk) 17:49, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

I ask you all to reconsider your positions and set aside the differences you may have had with other participants for the good of the project and encyclopedia. Sound Forge
Hi Tony,
In answer to your question I don't think there is a freeware version of Sound Forge as it's a Sony product. I know there is Audacity and Goldwave but I don't think their audio restoration side will be as good (I could be wrong as I have never done a side-by-side test). You'll find Sound Forge in 2 flavours, either the very expensive Pro here or the cut down and much cheaper home version here. I do have the Pro version which I bought in a fit of excitement, but the home version is fine too. Sadly, there are some things which freeware software won't do very well, and that is anything more involved than simple cutting and pasting....
Good luck!

Hector Lopez Defense
He was a terrible defensive player his whole career. Lopez began as a 3rd baseman. Read the entire quote of the source I referenced.
Now, it is not necessary for me to declare that Hector Lopez was the worst fielding third baseman in the history of baseball. Everyone knows that. It is more or less a matter of public record. But I do feel called upon somehow to try to indicate, if only for the historical archivists among us, the sheer depths of his innovative barbarousness. Hector Lopez was a butcher. Pure and Simple. A butcher. His range was about one step to either side, his hands seemed to be made of concrete and his defensive attitude was so cavalier and arbitrary as to hardly constitute an attitude at all. Hector did not simply field a groundball, he attacked it. Like a farmer trying to kill a snake with a stick. And his mishandling of routine infield flies was the sort of which legends are made. Hector Lopez was not just a bad fielder for a third baseman. In fact, Hector Lopez was not just a bad fielder for a baseball player. Hector Lopez was, when every factor has been taken into consideration, a bad fielder for a human being. The stands are full of obnoxious leather-lunged cretins who insist they can play better than most major leaguers. Well, in Hector's case they could have been right. I would like to go on record right here and now as declaring Hector Lopez the all-time worst fielding major league ballplayer. That's quite a responsibility there, Hector, but I have every confidence you'll be able to live up to it.
When did Lopez play 3rd base? After 1960, he basically didn't play it any more.
The James quote I also link to is ambiguous about what part of Lopez's career he was referring to or if it was the whole career of Hector's but remember this. James however grew up watching the Kansas City A's and that's where Lopez started his career.- William 15:50, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

I am trying to add this one that I have put in the nowiki command. When I preview it the pic itself looks ok but I get an extra box that that seems to have part of my signature in it beside it. File:Rossini-William Tell Overture.ogg licensing
Hi Tony, I saw this file at the FSC. I noticed the licence tag you put on it ({{PD-US-record}}) and I see that you're quite experienced with featured sounds. Do you know anything about the consensus regarding the tag (if it has been discussed here or at commons?) and whether or not it accurately portrays the state of music recordings and public domain in the US? I always figured that typical sound recordings were considered copyrighted unless there is evidence to the contrary, and others that I've talked to have thought the same. This tag (unless I'm misreading it) implies that all recordings of music written up to 1911 would be public domain when recorded up to 1972... which just doesn't sound accurate. If this tag is acceptable then I could upload lots of great sound files, but I wouldn't want them to be deleted at a later date if the tag doesn't represent copyright law.ThemFromSpace 11:56, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
Hi Tony!
Someone keeps trying to delete http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omniscient_technology. Sigh. I can never get over jealous people that only want to be destructive and not constructuve. Guess they never enjoyed any real success of their own :( Can you help keep it up? Thanks! Ron — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.198.22.63 (talk) 19:43, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

Your page about your Poker games
Hi, Tony. Don't you consider User:TonyTheTiger/Poker template inappropriate for Wikipedia (even for userspace)?
Would you agree to move it somewhere else on the web? Thanks, --Damiens.rf 15:26, 26 May 2011 (UTC) I have had this debate before. Basically, userfied my bio several years ago. Recently, I began detailing my online poker experience in a highly detailed manner that might not be inappropriate on WP if I was notable. I am going to trim it down some because it has gotten too long.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 15:33, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- I would say it would be inappropriate even for a notable person. I suggest you completely remove it, since it's so distant of encyclopedic purposes. So, would you delete it? --Damiens.rf 22:24, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
- If statistics and results about poker are things notable people have in their bios and things can be sourced, then it's would not be too much for a notable person. I don't know if you have ever seen any of my content creation, but I often produce vast amounts of content with far greater detail than anyone would have believed was worth producing. See people like Rob Pelinka and Tai Streets who have extensive details of high school careers that many might be surprised to find.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 22:42, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
- Well, I know the rules about userspace are lax and rarely enforced, but I would feel bad if I didn't try. I'm posting it to MfD. I hope you don't take it personally. --Damiens.rf 23:21, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

WikiCup 2011 May newsletter
We're half way through round 3 of the 2011 WikiCup. There are currently 32 remaining in the competition, but only 16 will progress to our penultimate round. Casliber (submissions), of pool D, is our overall leader with nearly 200 points, while pools A, B and C are led by Racepacket (submissions), Hurricanehink (submissions) and Canada Hky (submissions) respectively. The score required to reach the next round is 35, though this will no doubt go up significantly as the round progresses. We have a good number of high scorers, but also a considerable number who are yet to score. Please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. Also, an important note concerning nominations at featured article candidates: if you are nominating content for which you intend to claim WikiCup points, please make this clear in the nomination statement so that the FAC director and his delegates are aware of the fact.
A running total of claims can be seen here. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. J Milburn and The ed17 23:38, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
