Do you have ANY problem with how much you use Huggle? Why every day? Take this as something to respond to. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.25.243.248 (talk) 01:18, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

As do I, Dave. I've committed to respond here and since the request was polite I decided to respond. I think we are of the same mind that the possibility that this user is disingenuous is very high. If I get a real sense of being trolled WP:DENY is close at hand. If I've misinterpreted your intent please let me know. See ya 'round Tiderolls 01:25, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Vandalism: Repeated Deletions of WCLX History By Abusive Contributor 'PeterTripp' and Now By Wikipedia

It's interesting that you backed out my "unsourced" changes when the entire existing article on WCLX is unsourced. Is this just because I haven't bothered to register an account? Your contributor "PeterTripp" is attempting to control the history of this station because he has an infantile dispute with the former operators of the station. If my registering with Wikipedia increases my credibility, I shall do so, but I don't condone the infantile actions of 'PeterTripp', and neither should you. If you only want sourced content in this article, then you should delete this entire article. I am resubmitting my edits, pending your direction. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.20.163.254 (talk) 18:47, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

The entire existing article is not unsourced. I have opinions regarding Petertripp's editing as well as the users that insist on using the article as a battleground. Please, make whatever edits you feel are necessary. I will not engage in an edit war to prove a point, but your edits will be subject to the scrutiny of all editors and will be subject to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Regards Tiderolls 19:40, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
Here we go again. I'll take the opportunity now to point out that User:Petertripp was taken to the conflict of interest noticeboard, didn't respond to his relevant thread, and hasn't made a controversial edit since. The article as it stands is, for the most part, referenced by independent third-party sources. It is of a neutral tone for the first time in its history. I provided sources for the parts of the article I could find references for and deleted the rest; this was reverted by Petertripp, but Tide restored it after the aforementioned COI had settled down. Most recently it has been changed by another completely uninvolved editor who - and excuse me for my frank tone here - removed much of the POV and irrelevant detail that your edit brought. If you have any specific concerns about the article as it stands, and can back them up with references, then have at it; if your only concern with the article is that it doesn't pander to your point of view, then I think we're done here. This back-and-forth POV edit-warring has gone on long enough. SMC (talk) 08:26, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Dear Mister Rolls

I believe you have made a mistake on my Josh Peck edit. Those lines that I put into the interview were the raw, unedited feeling of the Mister Peck we all know and love. Sometimes you just have to infer. Not everything needs to be typed out. Respectfully yours, Cinnamon Rolls —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.15.51.179 (talk) 23:52, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

I didn't know that. But I do know that editors rely on being able to see these messages if they are warning them further. An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of fatal diseases. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of fatal diseases. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Kind sir, you have misinterpreted what vandilism is. Ahem, "edits/reverts over a content dispute are never vandalism" from the vandalism page. There should be no issue as far as I do not discredit the Portal article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mastado (talkcontribs) 00:36, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Without doubt I am capable of error. However, I don't think I am in this instance. I know the difference between a content dispute and vandalism. Your current edit to this page may well stand. Other editors will decide that outcome. If you decide to to add nonsensical content to this or any article, I will revert you. Thanks for your polite message. Tiderolls 00:45, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

I am messaging you in regards to your reverts to my edit on the characters of Half-Life. The character "Dog" is actually spelled as "D0G" as per the creator's designation. My edit was not vandalism; merely a simple correction. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me.Mastado (talk) 02:32, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Everything I've found says the spelling you provide is occasionally used. However, I did not revert you because I have an opinion aboout the article's content; I reverted your edit because you didn't include an edit summary and because you have a history of adding nonsense to articles. Dog, D0g...whatever... Tiderolls 03:16, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Question

Why do you allow them to remove my relevant information?

I added a link to a site that is not even mine, warning users of PayPal.

This is more than useful.

You just want everyone to keep using PayPal, so you remove it. I am sure you work for PayPal.

Perhaps you might engage the editors without attacking them and making accusations. That's just a suggestion...of course you can ignore it. Your choice. Regards Tiderolls 01:49, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Why do people get warnings? Also, what if you edit the page with correct information, do you get a warning too? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.88.214.33 (talk) 01:50, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

People get warnings when they vandalize pages, and if you edit a page with the correct information, you won't get a warning. December21st2012Freak Talk to me at 01:53, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
To add to 12/21/12Freak's correct answer above. Wikipedia has policies and guidelines; violating those will get one warnings. If you read Wikipedia:Verifiability you will find that to be "correct" is not sufficient. You must include reliable sources and it's optimum to gain a consensus for one's edits as well. I hope that helps. Regards Tiderolls 01:56, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Why? read ASAP

I think that it is unfair for people to get warnings. I recently just added something to a page that was useful and correct and someone removed it. :( —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.88.214.33 (talk) 02:08, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

I cannot predict the actions of other editors (or bots). Wikipedia is not a forum for sensationalism. If the subject is notable due to some controversy that would be different. Also, I have no idea whether the source you cite would be considered reliable by Wikipedia standards. Regards Tiderolls 00:50, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the quick response. Well the particular event did somewhat of a buzz in greek media, which why I thought its worth mentioning. If you would engage other editors on the article talk page or contact knowledgable editors at the biography project, you could gather input on the weight of the specific incident as it applies to the person's bio. Please understand that biographies of living persons are subject to rigid and strictly enforced rules for obvious reasons. As to avoiding bots, I can offer little advice as I am no expert in their operation. I do appreciate your patient and polite messages and hope that I have not adversely influenced your experience on Wikipedia. Thanks Tiderolls 01:05, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

The topic "Eh"

The reason for my edit of this article is that the article itself is not true. I'm not sure if you read my whole edit, but I will fully admit to making it slightly synical. This article does not depict the truth at all and the references given are mockeries and intend for comedic purposes. This is a Stereotyped article and should not even be allowed on Wikipedia at all, regardless of the cause. It is a mockery of Canadians and other Nationalities. Simply the only thing that this article should state about any English speaking nationality is that the interpeted word "eh" is actually the word "hey" and that the pronounciation of the "H" is muffled in with the rest of the word. My personal request is that this whole article either be removed from Wikipedia as it has no bearing, or simply changed to include that "eh" is simply "hey." And is often used to illicit a response from another person in the conversation. Thank you. MrRipperKing (talk) 04:22, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for coming here to discuss your edits. I reverted your edit because it was commentary and original research. Wikipedia is not a forum but a collection of facts supported by secondary sources. Hi Tide rolls, I've removed my warning message re: Mexico City from this users talkpage as on reflection I feel their edits were likely good faith, rather than vandalism. I'm not sure if may also want to review your message.

Page protection

Hi, Tide Rolls. An editor has requested to move protect your userpage and talk page after the page move vandalism yesterday. It's your page, so would you like it to be indefinitely move protected, or would you rather leave it as it is? ≈ Chamal talk ¤ 01:33, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi, Chamal. Thanks for the concern. I don't think one incident would warrant protection. However, if you believe I'm overlooking factors that would indicate protection is necessary I'd be interested in hearing more. Feel free to e-mail me if there are beansy concerns. Thanks Tiderolls 05:48, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
Nah, I wouldn't have gone for protection either if it was my page. I was just checking if you'd want it, since somebody had requested it at WP:RFPP. Happy editing then :) ≈ Chamal talk ¤ 06:51, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

Hello

Hi,excuse me,would you happen to be the person who is taking down my Choc-A-Boxx article?

If so,I can inform you,all information on that page is real information. I got some old papers and stuff from the WEA Records company about Choc-A-Boxx,and some other info from other websites,so I do know that all information is 100% true. Please,do not remove my article. I only write true articles,I would never write a fake.

If it isn't you,but you may know who is deleting it,please stop the deletation. I will do my best to inprove that article, the reason you can't find much on them is because they weren't out for long and didn't release much outside of Europe.

Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kablam154 (talkcontribs) 01:52, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

I reverted this edit because it contained commentary that was more appropriate for a talk page, not the article's mainspace. In reverting I replaced a CSD tag that you had removed. I really don't have an opinion on the article (yet), but you are not to remove the CSD tags. An administrator will examine the circumstances and respond. If you want your article to avoid deletion I would advise you to go to the article's talk page and make your case for retention. Thanks Tiderolls 01:57, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Opinion

I entirely disagree, how is it that he is allowed to have a page in an encyclopedia talking about himself contributing nothing. In fact I think it is entirely wrong that wikipedia takes this stance. I have seen articles deleted left and right and I think you guys need to really look in the mirror. My edit was not a mistake, it was feedback on the absurdity of wikipedia's policy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.186.178.171 (talk) 23:59, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

I'm gonna assume for one post that you're not trolling and attempt to explain your error. You appear to be "protesting" against some "wrong" or "injustice". Protests are not really recognized on Wikipedia. Different opinions are encouraged and open discourse is valued. However, railing against wrongs (real or percieved) is not looked upon with much favor. So, you're kind of wasting your time. It's your time to waste, of course, but the wasting of volunteers' time is very bad form. I would advise you to find another direction in which to aim your energies or your time here will be short and very unfullfilling. Entirely your call. Thanks for your polite message. Gunz: The Duel edit

Hello Tide Rolls,

I am very upset over this warning and roll back of my edit on Gunz: The Duel.

I am a very big fan of this game and also my 2 sons. My daughter also played it but what I said in the edit is exactly what happened to her, leading to her suicide on the 17th of October on 2006.

Please, leave the edit there as a warning to other Gunz loving parents.

Recent edits to oak hill high school maine

I am a student of Oak Hill High School, in Wales, Maine, and I would like to attest to the recent edits you have reverted. We are in fact allowed to drive our go karts to school and do partake in transporting ourselves between classes via our go karts. We also do have summer classes entitled "Trash Picking" (A play on words from the Raider mascot) "Overachieving" (Becoming a better student) and also "Sitting" (Sitting and Care 101, a life skills class based around babysitting.) So I believe that your reverts were in fact incorrect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.254.105.149 (talk) 01:08, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Good idea. I haven't really contributed too much, as the articles in my area of expertise are already in a high state of development. But this is one area where I might be able to help. ScottyBerg (talk) 15:32, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
I have come across many opportunities to tweak and fix articles while watching recent changes. As you revert vandalism you will see other things about many articles that will need to be addressed that are outside the realm of vandalism. (formatting, citations that need to be added or added properly, broken image names, etc.). That's where learning the core policies comes into play. You will need to be able to recognize problems and be able to address them without violating Wikipedia's standards yourself. Regards Tiderolls 19:45, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I've actually been reading up on policies in the context of one of the more controversial subject areas at Wikipedia, where I've commented but lack the technical expertise to edit. So happens I've started looking at the recent changes but usually you Hugglers get there before me! I found the vandalism on TriBeCa because that's already on my watchlist. But I think I may get one of the other tools I read about that don't require rollback rights. I'll let you know how it goes. ScottyBerg (talk) 21:28, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Recent edits to Oak Hill High School

I, along with my fellow colleague, attest you reverting our recent edits. Do you even have any affiliation with Oak Hill? Because if you did, you would know that there are in fact students hailing from our lunar satalite, the moon. Also, for an article about Oak Hill, I felt it lacked the school's name in many sentences, so simply tried to inform people that all of these activities were associated with Oak Hill, and not another school in the area. I am simply trying to enhance the school's image, and you are seriously impeding my ability to do so. Next time you delete someone else's work, do some research first. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.253.8.55 (talk) 02:19, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Smitty Sauces & Seasonings From Hell Michigan It is still available today and well known as one of the best mixes around. This is not the case; in the music world it is very well established that earphones and headphones are very different music listening devices and I simply wished to correct a statement that suggested otherwise. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.183.128.140 (talk) 02:00, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

If "it is very well established" then you should not have any trouble providing reliable sources for this position and citing them properly. However, the reason I reverted your edits was due to the fact that the edits were marring the layout of the article and appeared vandalistic. I had no major issue with the content of your edits. Having listened to your reasoning I see no actual need for the content to be added but I will not edit war to keep the content out of the article. Please understand that your edits are visible to all editors and are subject to alteration and deletion. Thanks for your polite message. Tiderolls 02:08, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

have u ever been to burton statues if you had you would probably realise that my edit was infact correct as it is riddled with gangs stabbing each other. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.138.163.79 (talk) 02:20, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

Here's something you might find informative. Regards Tiderolls 02:22, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

CSD

Are you sure about Homo swarm? It's certainly a fertile mine of double entendre, but Dike swarm is perfectly fine, and the term "homologous" is valid. It should be renamed using the correct term and maybe merged, and Google shows no hits, but I wouldn't reject it out of hand as a hoax, despite the nomenclature. Needs an actual source, obviously.Acroterion (talk) 02:37, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

Sorry to answer so late...real life concerns. I wasn't 100% sure when I tagged the article, but I was basing my action on the user's citation. Their link did not reference "homo" at all....and the "homologous" was given as an alternative. Dike swarm has existed since 2008 with no mention of a "homologous" and this was the user's very first edit. I will plead a mea culpa to acting quickly, but I was sure enough to pull the trigger. I hope this answers your concerns. See ya 'round Tiderolls 04:20, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
I now see that the deletion was handled as a "test" rather than a "hoax". Maybe my tag was a bit harsh and I would offer a sincere apology to the article creator if a source surfaces. If the creator had come here I would've certainly entertained any discussion they offered. Regards Tiderolls 04:45, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
I think somebody was having a little geological fun with us - I imagine a dike swarm can be homologous, and I imagine there's a very old joke about it all. If anybody wants to add sourced content concerning homologous dike swarms to dike swarm, they can do so. We don't have a pun tag, so G3 tends to be the default. No problems, I was puled too. Greetings / Do you use Twinkle?

Hello! Well, first of all, it's nice to see you again. One of the comments that I have to make is all in an e-mail that I will zap to you soon. Second, I was just wondering if you were ever interested in using WP:TWINKLE. It's a gadget similar to Huggle that a lot of users (and rollbackers) use, including myself. There is the tasks of reverting vandalism & reporting it, tagging new pages for CSD, reporting users, etc. Since you are a bit notable for your Huggleness, I was wondering if you would give it a try! :-) Have a good night.

Side note -- Twinkle doesn't work on Internet Explorer. It will function on Firefox, Safari, and other browsers. Schfifty3 03:55, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)Huggle is actually faster than twinkle, I used to have twinkle in July/August, 2009 but I got the rollback right later in August which is when I started using huggle. December21st2012Freak Talk to me at 04:05, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
Good to see you as well, Schfifty. I may give TW a try some day, but it will mean a browser download for me as I use IE. I've been using HG so long that I am used to its quirks and jerks. Sometimes it's best to choose the devil one knows :) Thanks for the feedback 12/21/12Freak...good info. Tiderolls 04:29, 27 March 2010 (UTC) I didn't know there was a template for talk-page-stalking...lol
Yeah, there's always the necessary time to wait before trying something new. On the subject of browsers, I would personally prefer to use Firefox b.c. it has nifty add-ons and no slow tab loading. :) Schfifty3 04:44, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
Oh BTW, did you receive that email I sent? Schfifty3 04:46, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
Yes....read and answered. Tiderolls 05:08, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

Excuse me, but why did you direct me to the sandbox?

My edits were clearly not test edits, so your linking me to the sandbox was an incorrect and inappropriate course of action.

If you do not like my edits, that's fine. But I am letting you know that linking to the sandbox is a wholly incorrect action, because I am clearly not trying to make test edits.

Linking to the sandbox may cause great amusement and a few chuckles for yourself and others, but it is an ad hominem attack and it is worthless to proceedings.

If the edits were not genuine and were vandalism, that would also be an incorrect time to link the person to the sandbox.

You may consider the edits so ridiculous that you cannot help but want to offend them. If so, I suggest you condemn the edits in an honest way and try to keep an open mind about how it may be you yourself and perhaps others who have it all wrong.

So I am making a request to not link genuine edits to the sandbox again, even though many other people do it when they see edits they greatly dislike. Thanks for your consideration. 93.95.81.1 (talk) 16:05, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

I kind of see the point you are attempting to make. Unfortunately, this is the incorrect forum to address your !issue. As I do not have any real hope that your position will gain traction, I will not waste your time by directing you to more appropriate venues. I will offer that the word choice you take issue with is most likely rooted in the assumption of good faith and I would wager that this fact is already known to you. Thanks for your polite message. New user here

Hi. I am new to Wikipedia, so please do not flame me. Were my websites deemed unnecessary? I believe a robot undid my edits. - thomas123wooden123 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thomas123wooden123 (talkcontribs) 22:07, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

This is not "flame", it is a templated information notice. I left that message on your talk page after reverting this edit. Honestly, I have no opinion on the link you added to that article; the multiple misspellings you introduced distracted me from reading the complete edit. That's the risk one runs when adding gibberish to articles. It may not have been your intent to add gibberish and that's the reason the message I left references "unconstructive". I hope this answers your concerns. Regards Tiderolls 23:04, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

Please block...

I see that you have warned BillyBlazes. He is going to vandalizm and I want you to block him so we can protect Wikipedia. BjörnBergman 19:40, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

I agree that this user is not here to be constructive. I am not, however, an administrator so I cannot block the user. In addition there is a process that must be followed before a block can be executed. Not to worry, though, this user is making it plain that they will be blocked soon. Thanks for your concern. Sir, I am on the Consignio Accademico of the Ateneo Veneto and updating the website. Could you kindly let me know your affiliation and why you are interfering? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.20.32.114 (talk) 22:35, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

Generally you don't 'update' an article by deleting half or all of it. You're taking the piss and your next edit will get you reported. HalfShadow 22:39, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
