November Articles for creation backlog drive
Hello Theleekycauldron:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 2 months outstanding reviews from the current 4+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 November 2023 through 30 November 2023.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.

More, if you like: today I have three items on the Main page, almost too much of a good thing! Bach's amazing cantata with the unusual scale, first performed 300 years ago OTD, the nun for the prostitutes, and Schumann's wedding gift for Clara. Sarah Jane Baker publishers and ISBNs?
Hi, Leeky. You seem to have removed the publishers and ISBNs of the books written by Sarah Jane Baker. Can you explain? I always thought that those were useful information about books. --GRuban (talk) 14:02, 8 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hey, GRuban! If I had more time, I probably would've moved those down to a Biblography section. I tend to feel that ISBNs and publishers in prose are more clunky and academic than is really needed by readers to understand Sarah Jane Baker. I'm not gonna push too hard either way, that was just my thought in making the cut :) theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 19:43, 8 November 2023 (UTC)
- Sarah Jane Baker#Bibliography: better? --GRuban (talk) 23:08, 8 November 2023 (UTC)

New editor continues to edit Israel/Palestine content after being made aware of arbitration restrictions

DYK for NYT first said
On 18 November 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article NYT first said, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/NYT first said. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, NYT first said), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
—Kusma (talk) 00:03, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- The underscores probably prevented DYKUpdateBot from finding the hook, hehehe theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 00:03, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
Broken links to Wikipedia:Did you know/Statistics/Monthly DYK pageview leaders
So, I was looking at some DYK statistics, and noticed that the link to the current month's stat page in the rows generated by GalliumBot at Wikipedia:Did you know/Statistics/Monthly DYK pageview leaders/Summary is broken due to an extra backslash at the end (list of redlinks). I think it's coming from vandyke defining monthyeartarget = "/"
when monthyearlist
throws an IndexError.
While looking at the list of redlinks, I also noticed that Wikipedia:Did you know/Statistics/Monthly summary statistics/2022 (a) is showing data for 2023; (b) is actually identical in output to Wikipedia:Did you know/Statistics/Monthly summary statistics/2023/Total; and (c) doesn't match the page name format of the other statistics pages, and thought that might be something you'd like to to know about as well.
Hope that's helpful! 129.170.197.110 (talk) 05:04, 19 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for finding the bug I'd been too lazy to fix forever! I deleted that page and fixed the fallback :) theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 08:10, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
DYK nomination
Hi! I added a source to the hook at Template:Did you know nominations/Quách Thị Trang Square, which I think should address the problem that you pointed out, but never got a response from you. If there's anything else that doesn't work, please let me know. Đại Việt quốc (talk) 22:50, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Đại Việt quốc: Hi, just responded, thanks! In the future, pings don't go through if you don't add your signature in the same edit as the pinged's username. theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 08:06, 21 November 2023 (UTC)

What an entirely pleasant interaction on Talk:National Stupid Day! Always nice to disagree and yet not leave the discussion with a bad taste in my mouth (and as an added benefit, have *increased* respect for the person you don't completely agree with). Thanks for all your work around the wiki, and for approaching discussions with a level head, and kindness. Eddie891 Talk Work 21:54, 21 November 2023 (UTC) |

Maybe we should semi-protect more election-related pages
Just stumbled upon your reverts on the Arbcom candidates page. That's some serious problematic editing you spotted. I'd encourage you to consider semi-protecting such pages when seeing such blatant and severe issues; at this point, there's no reason for *anyone* to be editing that page, and certainly nobody who isn't autoconfirmed.
Thanks for your diligence. Someday, you might want to consider putting your name on that candidate list. Risker (talk) 02:18, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
- I would very much encourage that in a few years. -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 14:05, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note, Risker! Was short on time, so it didn't occur to me (and I wasn't sure whether to revoke TPA/email, so I'm glad Ingenuity took care of that), but I'll definitely take that under advisement for next time. And, that's awfully nice of both of you to say :) theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 20:05, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
DYK for List of variations on Pachelbel's Canon
On 26 November 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article List of variations on Pachelbel's Canon, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Pachelbel's Canon is notorious for being widespread in pop music, but it actually isn't? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/List of variations on Pachelbel's Canon. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, List of variations on Pachelbel's Canon), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Thank you for a cute one! - It's also featured on Portal:Germany. - I'd decorate with November flowers but they already in your archive ;) - I'm not sure if "variations" is really the best name, - it seems not to be in the sense of Variation (music), but I also have nothing better to offer, - "arrangements" doesn't feel right either. - Thank you also for the civility mentioned above! - Happy on a concert day, - the second this year. We sing the Mozart, and listen to da pacem Domine played by the strings. The video of our last concert is on yt, - see my talk if you are curious, or look for Misatango and Idstein ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:16, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
