Wikipedia Wars and the Israel-Palestine Conflict...please fill out my survey?
[edit]Hello :) I am writing my MA dissertation on Wikipedia Wars and the Israel-Palestine conflict, and I noticed that you have contributed to those pages. My dissertation will look at the process of collaborative knowledge production on the Israel-Palestine conflict, and the effect it has on bias in the articles. This will involve understanding the profiles and motivations of editors, contention/controversy and dispute resolution in the talk pages, and bias in the final article.
For more information, you can check out my meta-wiki research page or my user page, where I will be posting my findings when I am done.
I would greatly appreciate if you could take 5 minutes to fill out this quick survey before 8 August 2021.
Participation in this survey is entirely voluntary and anonymous. There are no foreseeable risks nor benefits to you associated with this project.
Thanks so much,
Sarah Sanbar

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

On deleting talkpage discussions on article talkpages
[edit]On edits like [1], see WP:TPO (WP:REDACT may also be of interest). Hat/collapse if you want, but removal is likely not the way to go. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:42, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- Right, I'm relatively new here so I try to err on the side of caution. Given the edit history of the editors involved, I will also be undoing the removal I did on this talk page Julia Grant (transgender activist).
- Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. Theheezy (talk) 09:59, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- We learn the strange ways of WP as we go along. Such edits are unlikely to cause the end of WP as we know it, but you never know if other involved editors will go "meh" or get quite annoyed. That said, WP:TALKOFFTOPIC is also a "thing", but clearly didn't apply on the Julia Grant "case". Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 15:32, 2 July 2023 (UTC)
- Well as they say, *nobody* expects the Spanish Inquisition. Theheezy (talk) 15:57, 2 July 2023 (UTC)

do not remove comments from other users
[edit]as you did here. ValarianB (talk) 12:58, 10 July 2023 (UTC)
- Feel free to restore it if you believe it conforms to wikipedia policies, and if you dare. Theheezy (talk) 13:40, 10 July 2023 (UTC)
Umm...
[edit]I will give you 24 hours to strike through these comments: [2] [3] [4] which show a bizarre level of personalization and a penchant for conspiracy theories that is at a pretty cringe inducing level. If you would prefer, we can take this to WP:AE and see what they will say. They have basically asked me to file more complaints there about things like this, and while I have little to no desire to do so, I think that's the right thing to do if you do not change course dramatically. jps (talk) 20:29, 10 July 2023 (UTC)
- Please begin WP:AE. Theheezy (talk) 20:35, 10 July 2023 (UTC)

. Courcelles (talk) 17:02, 11 July 2023 (UTC)I'm not sure what's up here, I initially had the impression of a compromised account, but a second look made me discard the idea. While the approach to WP was sometimes awkward before, it seems that lately you were in troll mode, even advocating for your own block. In any case, assuming that you'd like to edit Wikipedia to improve an article on mathematics or game theory in the future, indefinite blocks are not necessarily infinite. I suggest to then appeal as the above message says, explaining what happened and specifying what you intend to work on. I first noticed your account recently when you deleted talk page threads where other participants posted, against WP:TPG (for that, there is archival). Au revoir for now, —PaleoNeonate – 22:50, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
Oh, this was an unpleasant surprise when I learned of it, and I'm sorry to hear about it. On the other hand, like Neonate, I'm nonplussed by your dead man walking routine. In any case, I hope you can come back from whatever was interfering recently with your previously productive output, and come to contribute again. Feel free to ping me here (you do have TP access still, right?) if you want to discuss options. In the meanwhile, take care, Mathglot (talk) 08:34, 22 July 2023 (UTC)
