Greetings - I reverted your change of the Aum symbol at Template:Hinduism_small. Hundreds of pages show that template, therefore your change shows up on hundreds of pages. That particular symbol has been discussed previously. It was decided to have a more traditional version of the symbol: colored red, using a classical version of the devanagiri script. Your stylized, calligraphic black version doesn't meet what others were asking for. If you would like to discuss changing it, I suggest you post a message at Wikipedia_talk:Hinduism-related_topics_notice_board. ॐ Priyanath talk 19:11, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
Mistaken user page?
[edit]I noticed you posted a page at Usuario:Wilfredor that looked like it may have been intended for your user page. Since "Usuario:" is not a recognized namespace, the software considered it a mainspace article, so it had to be deleted. Please note that only the "User:" namespace is userspace. If you would like to place additional content on your userpage, please use the page located at User:Wilfredor. Thanks, and happy editing! Seraphimblade Talk to me 20:59, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
The article Kiwix has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Software with no assertion of notability.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 17:55, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Re: Image qualities
[edit]Hey, I saw your comment on the main page discussion about issues with thumbnails. I'm not sure why other language projects would have the issue, but the blockiness/artifacting only exists with JPGs to my knowledge—PNGs scale much smoother (which is why I usually use them with small images.) An apology
[edit]Just in case you withdrew because of me, it was not my intention to avoid the promotion of the picture. I was just expressing my opinions and maybe many users won't agree with me and the picture would have been promoted :) Anyways, I'd like to apologize to you and encourage you to keep nominating pictures to featured status. I remember the first pictures I ever nominated; they got a handful of opposes and none of them were promoted :/ Regards. — ΛΧΣ21 05:54, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for your message, I do not think nominate more images in a while, at least you understand what an image means encyclopedic here. Your argument was very good and convinced me to withdraw the nomination, thank you very much. --Wilfredor (talk) 13:17, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

I don't think this is actually speediable - it would have to be rather more promotional to qualify for WP:CSD#G11 - so I have tagged it as a sandbox (which will NOINDEX it) for the moment, and will take it to MfD, once I have worked out how to explain to the user in Spanish why it is not appropriate. By the way, you should have left a notice on his talk page when you tagged it, though he has evidently noticed. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 16:08, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

Jimbo
[edit]My initial reaction to Jimbo's comment was similar to yours. He repeatedly unfairly groups the decent users with the trolls, and this does very little to help or encourage the decent users. However, on reflection, if someone had arrange for someone to paint a penis-picture of me and post it on Commons, and if a group of similar users who hate me were in such powerful positions that the image could not be deleted, then I'd want nothing more to do with the site. The difference between me and Jimbo is that WMF, own the site. If I was Jimbo, I'd have those accounts closed along with anyone making a fuss about it. Nobody has a god-given right to be here. If Commons really has become so toxic that the Wiki figurehead wants nothing more to do with it, then it would be relatively easy for Wikipedia to sever any links with the site and for WMF to pull the plug on the servers. And why not? -- Colin°Talk 14:23, 18 October 2014 (UTC)
- They can not, generate a chain reaction, the community would reveal, would create a fork of the project and then would kill the goose of the golden eggs. The best, by far, is to empower the community, a small amount of money (chapters) to distract the community from conflicts while we take the biggest slice of the pie. They do not really care much community, Wikipedia was originated as a way to make money from the beginning, that has nothing wrong while also dealing with the community right now WMF has only helped to fan the flames of the problems of the chapters. Perhaps was it so difficult devote only servers? No! they wanted more money and help is a way to do it. Creating events in the most expensive cities in the world, staying in more expensive hotels in the city, while the crumbs fall under the table for community groups like chickens fighting over waste. --Wilfredor (talk) 17:14, 18 October 2014 (UTC)
- There are some problems with WMF spending, but don't believe everything the haters say. There are many losers on Commons who really need to get a life. I don't believe in "the wisdom of the crowd". Most internet forums like Commons and Wikipedia are populated by young men, and that demographic is pretty stupid and hot-headed. I think a better Terms of Use agreement would help eliminate the bad apples. -- Colin°Talk 18:52, 18 October 2014 (UTC)

- Thanks @ZiaLater: for this article. Look like a very nice article to translate, let me translate it this weekend. You could use for Venezuela Economy article this info. It is very difficult to explain what is happening in Venezuela for other people in other countries, much more difficult to explain to people who are fond of conspiracy ideologies (Comunism, Marxism, Socialism...) .--Wilfredor (talk) 00:45, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

[edit]I created the Units of Battle Hugo Chávez article with a limited amount of information. I was wondering if you could find more of a background on UBCh. - Thanks for your help. Since I know you enjoy my edits, I found some information that surprised me and I added it to the Simon Bolivar article. I never knew that Karl Marx wrote about Simon Bolivar, so I found it quite interesting.--ZiaLater (talk) 05:53, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
- The government of Venezuela has done foolish things, to switch to Bolivar, both in history and in his physical image. Textbooks of children have been changed. The government has also brought thousands of children from Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia and Ecuador to indoctrinate.
- Moving on, now there is a health crisis in Venezuela, 2 in 5 people has suffered from chicunguya, however, I myself have family members who have recently died from this. The state says it's a bacteriological bomb dropped from US, however, does not conduct informational campaigns or fumigation. It really is not the worst chicunguya disease, the health system is sick, the actual figures are manipulated and all chiefs of government health are Cuban doctors without professional training. It all began with the importation of Cuban doctors, many of whom are not prepared. Using plans to import Cuban doctors have brought Cuban paramilitary personnel to control Venezuela and other countries. There are similar plans in other latin american countries. --Wilfredor (talk) 11:15, 22 November 2014 (UTC)

Venezuela shortages article
[edit]I have finally created the Shortages in Venezuela article. It does not have a date in the title since recent shortages have been dated back all the way to 2007 and maybe even earlier. Go ahead and take a look and maybe even fix the sources for the items affected.--ZiaLater (talk) 18:26, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- @ZiaLater:, I'm not sure about the name, perhaps something like "Shortages in Venezuela during the Bolivarian Revolution", or something similar, I've been thinking about changing the article name of Spanish version. I also noticed that you need to add internal links to other articles. I would like to congratulate you for this article, obviously you have a flair for writing, I believe your article in English is better than spanish version and you have made not only with good quality but in a short time. I would like you to take a break after this, you've done a good job. I'd like to help, however, I am translating your articles to Spanish. I will try to add some things in this article also to unify the version in Spanish. Thanks --Wilfredor (talk) 10:43, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
- I have been looking for the history of shortages in Venezuela and have not found much information of shortages before Chavez's policies. I even read in an article that a 70+ year old woman said she never experienced shortages in Venezuela before recently. This makes me want to agree with you on a different title, but as of right now, I wanted to make a neutral title and have a discussion about a different title in the future. I will work on the links today too. Thanks for the compliments!--ZiaLater (talk) 22:11, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
- Ok, I have fixed the list of items section in the article. I'm just not sure if I like the way I organized the items though.--ZiaLater (talk) 00:08, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

BLP violation + not adhering to source
[edit]Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Nicolás Maduro. Thank you.--TMCk (talk) 17:12, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Hello, I'm The Magnificent Clean-keeper. Your recent edit to the page Nicolás Maduro appears to have added incorrect information, so I have removed it for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. --TMCk (talk) 17:12, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Hi @The Magnificent Clean-keeper:, please, discuss it in respective article talk page. Thanks --The_Photographer (talk) 19:30, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Nicolás Maduro. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.
Note:You haven't read our (most important) BLP policy or you don't understand it. Either way, BLP is not negotiable and your standard edit-summary doesn't explain why you think you can dismiss it. Please make yourself familiar with the above and if for some reason you really still think BLP doesn't apply, explain it to me our better the community via talkpage. Otherwise you might end up being blocked which I'm sure is not in your best interest and BTW, neither in mine.--TMCk (talk) 20:00, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Add: Also take a look at top info-boxes on the article's talk page. You'll read:
This article must adhere to the biographies of living persons policy, even if it is not a biography, because it contains material about living persons. Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately from the article and its talk page, especially if potentially libellous.--TMCk (talk) 20:13, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- @The Magnificent Clean-keeper::
Ouch! You've used a template to send a message to an experienced editor. Please review Wikipedia:Don't template the regulars or maybe listen to a little advice. Doesn't this feel cold, impersonal, and canned? It's meant in good humour. Best wishes. (t) Josve05a (c) 20:42, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
Please discuss article related disputes at the relevant talk peages, which would be the most ideal place for an open discussion, and not a one way street of "templating". (t) Josve05a (c) 20:42, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Josve05a: "Ouch!" indeed! With due respect. Please take a look at their contributions [a few hundred since 2006, mainly adding images] and especially the edits in question regarding their policy and editorial experience. Try to apply the latter to that "little advise" you linked and see what you get. And no, I don't use up more time than needed (that is when I don't have it) if some editor doesn't respond to given edit summaries but instead places their own time saving standard summary instead. Also, there is a thin red line in BLPs you can't cross I'm sure you're aware of. And just in case: No, no hard feeling from my side for waging your finger at me. You mean good but I have to disagree, in this case that is. Cheers,--TMCk (talk) 23:17, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Curious why you swapped a svg for the png at Skeletal system of the horse. The new diagram is accurate, but lacks the artistic detail of the former and the typeface is not as readable to my eyes. Montanabw(talk) 00:25, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi @Montanabw:, SVG should be a more easily readable format, you could send a print screen ?, please. I added more artistic version, if you have another model could be important in this process. Thanks --The_Photographer (talk) 14:54, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- Look at the two images, the png has shading along the bones and a wider color palette; the fonts are different and the colors of the text labels are different. I don't know what you mean by a "print screen" - they look the way they look...File:Horseanatomy.png is a more professional design; File:Horse anatomy.svg is cartoonish and the use of shading fails to render the nuances of the skeleton properly. (Just to point out a couple examples, the cheekbone is entirely wrong on your image, it's just a line, it fails to illustrate the three-dimensionality of the skull; the tarsal bones in the hock are also wrong; and you added a funny bump on the distal end of femur that doesn't exist ). Also, the waving mane is simply a distraction, (the horse is standing still; how could its mane be flying in the "wind" anyway?) The italic text labels are also harder to read I don't know why the original version couldn't simply be copied and pasted, there was no need to recreate a whole new image. Montanabw(talk) 16:57, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- Excellent comments, please open the full image and tell me if you can see the same problem. Maybe you need press Ctrl + F5 in your browser to clear the cache, and "print screen" is actually "screenshoot". Thanks @Montanabw:. I will try fix it, however, I will need your help again. --The_Photographer (talk) 17:03, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- The problem is that the viewer sees it as a thumbnail or at 2x from prefs in articles, and then at Commons default if they click to view; at those resolutions, the shading is not enough and the black cartoon lines are too much. The other version (the .png) was better at the sizes actually used. The svg has both too little shading where 3-D effect is needed, but then the black lines outlining everything make it worse, not better - bones are not two-dimensional. Montanabw(talk) 22:06, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Montanabw: Thanks for your review, I tried make a look less cartoon. You can compare this old spanish version with this one last english version, however, we need wait a day for mediawiki thumb regeneration. Let me know if its wrong, I added spatula details and more infor about head and spatula --The_Photographer (talk) 15:40, 30 October 2015 (UTC)

"Spatula"? Can you link to the File: image, not the full sized one, please? I still don't understand why you couldn't just copy the png instead of redrawing the whole thing??? Montanabw(talk) 01:52, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
Help
[edit]I was wondering if you could help me with some polls, especially from September to November. You can take a look here and determine which month the polls took place. Some of the edits on the Spanish Wikipedia are not too reliable as I have found that the dates are incorrect or has data from previous polls. I wanted to have an extra person look this over before I make further edits if that is possible, I would be grateful with any help. I'm almost done with October polls for this, but I just want to make sure everything is correct. Thanks for all of your other help! --ZiaLater (talk) 07:04, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

You deserve it
[edit]The Venezuela Barnstar of National Merit | ||
This is long overdue. You have contributed greatly to Venezuelan articles throughout Wikipedia and have admirably worked with others involved. At a time of unrest, you were present at situations unfolding despite the danger facing you, providing multiple files of what has been unfolding in the country for years now. With historical elements of Venezuela, you have documented them and their work is greatly seen through the many articles in which it is featured. Without you, we would be missing much of the picture of Venezuela in its current situation and I believe that your work will be used for better understanding for years to come. By the way, also watch out for time references that will be outdated when someone reads the article in the future (e.g. "recent", "in the past x years/decade", "current", etc). Laocoön and His Sons is an ancient sculpture which was excavated in Rome, Italy, in 1506. It depicts the Trojan priest Laocoön and his sons Antiphantes and Thymbraeus being attacked by sea serpents. The figures in the statue are nearly life-sized, with the entire group measuring just over 2 metres (6 ft 7 in) in height. The statue is likely to be the same one that received praise from the Roman writer Pliny the Elder, who attributed the work (then housed in the palace of the emperor Titus) to three Greek sculptors from the island of Rhodes: Agesander, Athenodoros and Polydorus, but he did not mention the work's date or patron. Modern scholars are not certain of the work's origins; it might be an original work or a copy of an earlier bronze sculpture. After its discovery, Laocoön and His Sons was put on public display in the Vatican Museums, where it remains. Sculpture credit: attributed to Agesander, Athenodoros and Polydorus; photographed by Wilfredo Rodríguez

March 2024
[edit]Hello, I'm Magnolia677. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Quebec seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 22:53, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Magnolia677: I think it is a fairly discussed and relevant topic to be in the article, if you think it is not neutral you could edit it or add another point of view, but I consider eliminating it completely drastic. Especially because not leaving room for any discussion you simply eliminate it with a generic message that it is not neutral. Wilfredor (talk) 22:57, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- I came here to warn you for the same thing after seeing your edit to François Legault and subsequently seeing that you've done it a lot, but see someone already has. It is not appropriate to use articles as a soapbox or for advocacy, nor to do any editorializing whatsoever. You have now done that at a substantial number of articles, and must cease doing this. While it is possible that some neutrally worded information sticking to facts could be inserted, that must be done without advocacy or editorializing. Seraphimblade Talk to me 23:04, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- Moreover, please do not expect other editors to "fix" your edits. Please also read WP:NOT, and avoid using opinion pieces as sources. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 23:10, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- Could you give me a concrete example, same answer for the other user Wilfredor (talk) 23:12, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
- Not an exhaustive list, as there are many. But as some examples from Quebec:
...government that has irresponsibly treated immigration...
("irresponsibly" is editorializing),This demonization persists...
("demonization" is a needlessly inflammatory term),Some have suggested...
(weasel wording),Premier Legault continues to politicize on the backs...
(more editorializing), and that's just in the first few paragraphs. That is not neutral and not acceptable. Seraphimblade Talk to me 23:16, 16 March 2024 (UTC)- Thanks for the explanation, I will try to do something better in the future and I will call you to confirm. [edit]Hello, Wilfredor,
Thank you for creating Impact of prostitution on mental health.

- Thanks for tag the article, this article needs several improvements but I will be busy for at least these two weeks, but it is a pending task that I have. I think that not only what you mention but also needs more references, some sections seem too full of terminology, also other sections with a more neutral vision. The treatment part needs to be improved and other sections such as hypervigilance that do not have references related to prostitution. This is a job that will take me some time but I plan to start it in two weeks, which is when I will be freer because I took a lot of photos for Wikimedia Commons and I need time to process them. Thank you again for taking the time and kindness to write to me on my discussion page so kindly. Wilfredor (talk) 15:17, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
