Oob records page rejection

Hi, I am an intern at university in the Netherlands and doing a study on International Business. I created a Wikipedia page to monitor traffic flow and other statistics of a Dutch business. I chose this business because my post graduate end goal is to work in music management. I need to do research of the company for my study, so I wanted to incorporate my findings into a Wikipedia page. This is my first Wikipedia page, and I taught myself from tutorials on Wiki-How.

'What am I doing wrong?' I have found tons of reviews, interviews, and articles about this record label from media sources in multiple countries about OOB Records Artists, and all mention the label. I thought that is what a 'notable' business was, one that has been noted in multiple sources. Do I link all of the 60+ articles I have found and add quotes from them about the artist and label? Do I delete everything and only leave the introduction and wait for other experts like yourself to add more? I just don't see what I did wrong to be denied twice. Thanks for your advice. Because you said I am wasting your time, and if you keep denying my attempts, then you are wasting my time too. So, how, can we solve this problem? Should I send you all the links to all of the credible sources and let you take over? Or can you explain what I need to do, with examples.

I am a student after all, and I need to learn how to do this as I want to have an understanding about Wikipedia. Thanks in advance for your help Stanengebrink (talk) 09:42, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have a bad memory at times. You will need to provide me a link to the page or I cannot help you @Stanengebrink. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 16:51, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't use "new topic" to reply. It confuses my archiving bot and irritates me. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 23:01, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Stanengebrink I've fixed your mess. Please be careful next time. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 23:06, 2 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Stanengebrink, I've taken a look at it. I'm sorry, but 9 citations, with a few duplicates, just isn't enough. Without major improvement between submissions, it just looks like a waste of reviewers' time (we are volunteers, anyway). Also, OOB Records represent bands, duos, trios, and singer-songwriters, really? That doesn't sound like an ad to you? Also, we do not create pages to monitor traffic, we create pages for notable subjects. I'm sorry, but I cannot un-reject your draft at this time. Any further questions, please go to your draft, and click the big blue "ask for advice" button. Another editor will be willing to help you. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 00:40, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Techie,
I am contacting you on behalf of OOB Records in the Netherlands. I've read your comments above to the young student who was creating his first Wikipedia page and it seem you spoke quite harshly to him. 'I've fixed your mess', 'looks like a waste of reviewers time', and in the end rejecting the draft completely. Ouch!
Since I am familiar with the company, and the musicians signed to the record label, and the student, Stan, who created this page as a school project, perhaps I can add insight here. Although to your American perspective, the page is not noteworthy enough to be on Wikipedia, in Europe, as far as independent record labels go, this label has three notable musicians signed to it.
I have taken time to read this page submission, and indeed, the topics didn't go into depth, and agreed 9 citations isn't many, but that can happen with a first time user uncertain of how many citations are needed. How would I go about adding the in-depth information on the notable musicians, and providing a list with 100+ credible citations from national and international magazines, television, venues, articles, interviews and reviews about the three Dutch celebrities? The remaining musicians are less notable, and are known in the music business as 'up and coming artists'. This title is given, not because the music level is inferior, no, it is because they have flown under the radar as independent musicians and will start to gain momentum and notoriety with every new review and interview. That distinction between the three notable artists and the 'up and coming' artistist should also be noted, and I can do that, along with adding the dozens of links of their reviews, interviews and articles from international media sources.
With that said, should I give it a go in Sandbox and see if it meets your approval? Or should I take this to a Sr. Reviewer for advice? To be clear, a record label is notable because of one or more notable artists that are signed to the label. Most independent record labels aren't notable in and of itself, the artists make the label. Once a notable artist have signed on any label, it has brought notoriety to the label and chain of events attracts more notable artists.
I am quite sure I can salvage this. I only need advice if you want to have a look at my edits? should I make the edits live or in sandbox? or should I click advice button and request a new or Sr. reviewer who is familiar with record labels in Netherlands. I am certain if this article page is published publicly, fans of the label artists who are Wikipedia contributors will happily add to content over time. Thank you for your time and advice. Draft:Moriyama Teshima Architects

[edit]

Thank you for your review of the Moriyama Teshima Architects draft page. I've tried my best to apply your note on formality of tone regarding the article. If I've not met the mark, I am happy to make any further changes and edits at your discretion. JLzero02 (talk) 15:16, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@JLzero02, okay, but I'm pretty sure someone else has to review it. Don't worry. Someone will get to it in due time. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 15:57, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My User talk page

[edit]

Hello, TheTechie,

While I appreciate your help responding to queries on my User talk page while I'm busy with things in my off-wiki life, you respond A LOT. Every time you post a message there, I get a big bar across the top of my page telling me that someone has posted to my talk page. Sometimes, I literally can't go 5 minutes without a blaze of big bars notifying me about about new messages which is more distracting than if I took the time to respond myself.

So, please, don't be so quick to respond to every message I get. I mean, I appreciate that you are trying to help but this flood of talk page notifications interrupts my work. Maybe you could check on the page twice a day rather than as often as you are attending to it now. Sound good ? Thanks again. Liz Read! Talk! 00:01, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Liz,
I'll try my best, I remember that you were struggling in real life and wanted to help. I'll try to help there less; for some reason, I'm naturally attracted to your talk page (I watch other admins' too and am not replying there as much). Hope you're doing well. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 01:35, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Techie, I was about awarding you a Barnstar after seeing your good knowledge of Wiki policy especially on Liz's talk page. It damn shows you are in the way. A bit tip? Participate also in AFDs and see around project talks so that other editors will be impressed which I had done so far. You usually respond like a admin always, and like Liz told you, start creating more notable pages and do other things in this project. When you get a bit tired or somewhat, then, go watch talk pages and reply some if you can. Just know you're doing well. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 07:58, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Help on Seeds of Hope Publisher Deletion?

[edit]

Hi, earlier during the end of May I wrote a piece regarding a deleted articl that you responded to, regarding the deletion of Seeds of Hope Publishers. You wrote that I required a "Conflict of Interest" regarding the matter for consideration, and since that I haven't recieved a response regarding wether the article can be edited to prevent deletion, or at least so we can save the download the article information before deletion. Could you please tell me on whether either of these options are possible, or if the decision is still under consideration? Thank you, and any response is appreciated. Devangae200 (talk) 04:00, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That was not me. I think you might have me confused with someone else. @Devangae200 thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 14:01, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And looking at your talk page, I haven't ever posted a message there, only a few others. Please discuss on their talk pages. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 14:03, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Devangae200's block popped up on my watchlist, because I warned them for copyright issues on the Seeds of Hope page. I went to check if there was anything I'd have to clean up and saw they'd posted here. Just to clarify, they weren't confused, and nor were they forumshopping. You did actually interact with them on Liz's talk page. I find that if I'm answering a lot of newbie questions on pages other than my or their talk, the editor interaction tool can be useful to figure out where. I hope you can find that useful! GreenLipstickLesbian (talk) 06:17, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. @GreenLipstickLesbian, sorry, sometimes I just forget, I have a busy life anyways :) thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 00:34, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
