Thank you for the warm welcome! I'm mostly active on the Hebrew Wikipedia (This is my user page), but I'll visit here too from time to time. TheStriker (talk) 22:42, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited BFG (weapon), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page German. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

The page 2023 Hamra junction shooting has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done for the following reason:

WP:G5 / Arbitration enforcement: WP:A/I/PIA, WP:ARBECR

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 11:57, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi TheStriker,
You may like to apply for the permission at WP:PERM/EC based on your hewiki experience, but I lack experience about whether such requests are usually granted. Asking doesn't hurt, though, I think. If you're extended-confirmed, either manually or later automatically, I'll restore the deleted contributions on request of course.
Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 12:04, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I apologize for the mess and thank you for providing me the information regarding the topic. I was merely editing the Hebrew article and assumed that creating an English article won't hurt. Is there any chance of restoring the article into a draft? or it would require me to get the permission first? TheStriker (talk) 12:17, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No worries at all. The content is definitely not lost; at very least I would send you its contents on request as soon as you're extended-confirmed. Drafts are affected by WP:ARBECR as well, though.
If an extended-confirmed user creates the article, perhaps as a small stub, you can then use the talk page of the article to propose adding exactly the text you had already written. That would be fine. If the article is created and you would like to do this, please notify me and I might send you the wikitext of your article for this purpose. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 12:46, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@TheStriker / @ToBeFree - just a follow up, I granted +ECU per the WP:PERM request; I restored that page and it is currently at Draft:2023 Hamra junction shooting. I suggest using the "Submit the draft for review!" process on it, though that is not strictly required. You may use the "Move" function to move this page back to article space if you are sure it is ready. TBF, hope I didn't step on any toes here per your notes at PERM, please ping me on my talk if this needs administrative follow up. — xaosflux Talk 14:40, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much, Xaosflux! 🙂 Looks good to me! ~ ToBeFree (talk) 14:43, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you both for the help! I've sent the draft for review, maybe there are some grammatical errors to be fixed before uploading back to the article space. TheStriker (talk) 14:48, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hm hm, I may have made a mistake by suggesting a permission request. Your input would be welcome at Wikipedia_talk:Requests_for_permissions#Granting_extended_confirmed_on_discretionary_basis. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 23:39, 9 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Seems to be fine. Of course your opinion is still welcome, but I think you can keep the permission and no further input is necessary. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 00:08, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
