Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, TheNewsHerald2000, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits to the page Norman J. Rees has not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and has been or will be removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or in other media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. Additionally, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Hi GermanJoe how can I include these items into the wiki. I am writing a book on this and other spy stories and thought the material was relevant. "Soviet Intelligence, FBI, MW Kellogg and Socony Mobil Oil Company have not confirmed any spying activity. An FOIA request to the FBI is still pending. Governments have been know to manipulate high profile situations, as in the Aaron Swartz case, who also committed suicide after being accused of a crime. Mobile Oil and MW Kellogg have been contacted, but neither responded. A analysis and determination needs to be made whether the alleged spy (violator of trade secrets and non disclosure contracts) was one in fact or someone who worked for other corporations around the world, as many people do in modern time. In the Cold War era such situations were often blurred and favored Government policy regardless of the outcome."

Hello, TheNewsHerald2000. It's probably really difficult to find reliable sources for a topic area like this, but Wikipedia relies on published sources for verification - otherwise the content, even if added in good faith, cannot be verified by other editors and readers (see also WP:V). Also, the content must stay as close to the sources as possible (WP:OR and WP:SYNTHESIS provide additional guidance for this aspect). Unverifiable content (even if technically "correct") is generally unsuitable for inclusion in Wikipedia. Of course, once a published reliable source picks up this aspect and reports about it, the information can be re-added. By the way, please sign all your posts with ~~~~ at the end. It automatically adds your signature to better organize and refer to forum posts. Best regards. GermanJoe (talk) 09:19, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, TheNewsHerald2000. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. GermanJoe (talk) 10:07, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on HEXL Advisors requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. J991 16:07, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Daily Fantasy Sports Sharks

[edit]

Hello TheNewsHerald2000,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Daily Fantasy Sports Sharks for deletion, because it's too short to identify the subject of the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Killer Moff (talk) 10:27, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation

[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Marianwolfe86, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

A tag has been placed on Justin B. MacMahan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". The previous deletion is related to sockpuppety, not notability. So why are you speedily deleting an article that has no notability issues?? I made this post directly from a new static connection and there is no Sockpuppetry. Can we please focus on the notability issues rather than the technical which may be in error. 06:22, 3 August 2016 (UTC)TheNewsHerald2000 (talk)

I tagged this article for speedy deletion for reasons not related to notability (although the article does have some citation issues as well). In addition, I at no point accused you of being a sockpuppet nor did I tag the page for speedily deletion due to creation by a sockpuppet. If I was fully confident in your account being a sockpuppet, I would have tagged the article with WP:G5. However, you must recognize that this article was deleted under a week ago as a result of an ongoing sockpuppet investigation. There is a possibility that I could be incorrect in suggesting that this is criterion for speedy deletion, yet that is why the article is a candidate for speedy deletion. Also, please, for future reference, if you wish to contest a speedy deletion, do so on the talk page of the article in question. I will be transferring this discussion to the talk page of the article in question. Alxeedo TALK 06:59, 3 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Justin MacMahan

[edit]

The article Justin MacMahan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to have been deleted at least three times previously?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:TheNewsHerald2000

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Paste Let’s have a chat. 10:06, 19 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Richard A Kimball Jr. - Healthcare Expert has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no reliable references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. reddogsix (talk) 07:23, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
