Draft:John Lewis Opera
[edit](Copied from User talk:AntientNestor): I'm sorry, but I need specific help. Otherwise I shall just give up on the John Lewis article.Terry123jenkins (talk) 16:49, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Terry123jenkins:You do need help with this. My suggestion would be to save all your text in a file away from Wikipedia, then savagely prune to salient features only the draft posted here. At a manageable size it will be easier to get the piece passed. (Any reviewer can do this—in fact it may helpful at that stage if it is another reviewer.) At that point start to reinstate your saved text, bit by bit. The small additions will be assessed (and possibly corrected if necessary) by a much wider pool of editors.

- I can see no point in cutting the text and reinstating it later. If it is acceptable later, then it should be acceptable at the outset.
- You have still not given me any precise information on what you consider the problems to be. If you are not willing to tell me exactly what these are, this conversation will just continue with no resolution. I have found with all the academic articles I have written that an editor will make any changes that are necessary, and then seek the author's consent. Why is this not possible here? - You are looking to get a reviewer to accept the article. I have made some suggestions. You don't have to take any notice of these in any way.--AntientNestor (talk) 20:55, 5 March 2023 (UTC)

- I would like to make the following points about the references included in my submission. The first reference contains factual information about the early opera performances. It is an in-depth description that is not available elsewhere. The second reference is completely independent, secondary and reliable.
- The last two, which I assume you have not seen, are hardly passing mentions. They are reviews of the annual performance in the U.K.'s only magazine devoted to opera. They are around the same size as reviews of professional performances (around 500 words), and were chosen as they show the change of venue and final performances. 87.112.120.122 (talk) 09:05, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
