- Yes, it's Wikipedia policy to remain neutral, which is not what you're not doing. Deleting the message? You're the one doing the deleting. If you would like to improve wikipedia, provide us counterclaim with reputable source. You're not doing that, you're just deleting all the facts you didn't like. Suredeath 14:08, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I just wanted to thank you for the work you've been doing on the Dhammakaya and related pages. I remember trying to add a few sources to those pages back in March of last year to try to encourage more neutral POV and better legitimate citation, but after endless amounts of deletion and vandalism, I became tired of dealing with it. Your efforts to make those pages better are really appreciated. Quincetessence 08:29, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Nu Wa image
[edit]Hello Suredeath, my fellow wikipedian. I noticed you do not seem to favor my Nu Wa image from Dynasty Warriors 3. However, considering the fact that this image is meant to be an incarnated representation of Nu Wa - as shown by the creator - it is liable to be a direct depiction of Nu Wa. Other than this fact, don't you think it logical that Nu Wa would be seen as a beautiful woman, rather than that of a large ugly snake creature? Even if she is mythological, it is best to represent her true image with full justice; thus I believe it best if Nu Wa from Dynasty Warriors 3 was the main article image, because it obviously best justifies her beauty. Tathagata Buddha
- That's utter nonsense. You don't see a picture of Guan Yu being from Dynasty Warriors being represented as such in his Wiki page. If you want to use the Nu Wa pictures, put it in appropriate page (That would be Dynasty Warrior, the game) or the appropriate section (like the one done in Guan Yu's)Suredeath 18:25, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
Actually, Guan Yu from Dynasty Warriors is most easily seen depicted in his wikipedia article at the bottom. Thus, it seems you are argueing about the placement of the image in the article, not the image itself; such a ridiculous conclusion indeed. However, there is no use argueing -- I will place the Nu Wa image on the bottom of the page were popular culture is of note as to avoid more pointless conflict.
- Tathagata
Hi there. Thailand article (and to some degree Bangkok) is always being repeatedly vandalized. I wonder why it wasn't already protected (and why some admins like to remove protection from it). Unfortunately, I'm not an admin and therefore don't have the power to protect articles. But you can propose it for semi-protection here. Good luck !! --Melanochromis 18:23, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Jenius/Sterling
[edit]You changed the name of the image I had altered to fit the article from Sterling to Jenius. The pic was in the "robotech" section and that was why the name reflected this. There are not 2 articles for the charater(s) so the name was made to reflect this. Dstorres
- I know very well why you change this, but you must see there's a leap in logic in this where a screenshot of the same production is referring to two different person. You may as well post the exact same picture in Macross section, labeled it "Maximillion Jenius", and it wouldn't be wrong.
I says just use something like "Max Jenius (Max Sterling in Robotech)" for the picture.Suredeath 20:29, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Revert on Wat Phra Dhammakaya
[edit]It is perfectly acceptable to link to copyrighted source. Almost all references and links on Wikipedia is to copyrighted, very few are in public domain. However, the links you removed were spam..... -- KTC (talk) 21:30, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, I thought those were spam links because my ad-blocker had stop me from seeing anything on those pages (thanks to the word 'advert' in its URL). Images that are uploaded to Wikipedia that doesn't have compatible license, or a valid fair use reason get deleted (and remove from articles). What you deleted there though were links under the references section. That come under Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Those images are hosted on a geocities site, which mean it normally wouldn't pass the reliable criteria. However, (some of) it looks like newspaper clippings to me, with me not being able to understand what it say, and hence where it came from, I can't comment whether it constituents reliable sources. (Of course, I'm completely ignoring whether the linked to website are hosting those images legally...) KTC (talk) 03:12, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure whether it's our job to police whether external website are complying with copyrights law. Anyhow, it would been perfectly acceptable for someone to simply list as reference / citation the relevant newspaper title/section/date where the clippings came from, assuming those newspaper count as reliable sources. It is not a requirement that references are accessible online. Of course, that would make checking whether the supposing references are valid very difficult... KTC (talk) 03:35, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Work in progress, Fictional places of Eddings, would you help
[edit]Hello Suredeath...Would you be interested in helping with an article/list about the fictional places of the works of the Eddings that I am currently writing in my user space? I really don't know what to do with it, but if you were willing to help me with it, that would be great! If no one thinks it is worth it, I will just get rid of it. Pop on over if you want. - LA @ 06:25, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
The Return of the Condor Heroes
[edit]Hi, I was looking at your edits for Jin Yong's The Return of the Condor Heroes. While I agree with most of them, I still think Gou Fu has feeling for Yang Guo, unbeknownst even to her. I have the Vietnamese translation of the novel (believe it's the second revision if that matter). According to the text I have:
- After Yang Guo saves Guo Fu's husband, she says sorry for all the bad things she had done to him. Yang Guo says that he'd happy if she stop hating him. Then Guo Fu wonders about how she would risk her life for him if he's only show feeling toward her. She wonders if she secretly love him (just wondering, she isnt sure either). The next paragraph goes on about how Guo Fu herself doesnt understand her own feeling when it comes to Yang Guo. The next paragraph has her wondering whether she cares more about Yang Guo or her husband's safety during the battle. The text says that she doesnt know either. Later in the paragraph, she admits to herself that she was jealous of her own sister when Guo Xiang receives all the birthday gifts from Yang Guo. Guo Fu then became angry and look at Yang Guo and Guo Xiang before she realizes that she's now a married woman.
The book I have is the Vietnamese translation. But I've found this english translation that seems reliable. Here's the link. http://wuxiapedia.com/novels/jin_yong/divine_eagle_gallant_knight/book_4/chapter_39 There's a lot of text. So I suggest you Alt-F the phrase "Guo Fu was stunned and the past events flashed past in her mind" That should bring you to the paragraph.Elsonlam1 (talk) 03:01, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Yes, it's called infatuation with heart and what not. It was never developed into love, it's POV anyway.Suredeath (talk) 05:16, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- I agree that it isn't love. I dont think I've ever call it love. But I don't think it's infatuation either. Infatuation implies that Guo Fu knows that she likes him. The text says that she herself could not understand her own feeling toward Yang Guo. She has strong feeling toward Yang Guo that she could not understand (and I am not using "strong feeling" as a euphemism for love).Elsonlam1 (talk) 10:55, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
Would you like to join the Koei Warriors Games WikiProject? It is everything Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, and Warriors Orochi! To participate, add your name to the list of participants and apply {{User WPKoeiWarriors}} to your user page.
If you are not sure what a WikiProject is, it is a club of Wikipedians interested in the WikiProject's subject and helping to improve articles of or related to that subject. I saw you greatly contributed to the Samurai Warriors article, so I figured I'd ask if you wanted to participate in Wikipedia:Wikiproject/Koei Warriors Games. You do not have to, and neither are you obliged; I am just asking. -BlueCaper (talk) 23:27, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Wikipedia guidelines
[edit]You are repeatedly replacing unreferenced and peacock text in Sriracha sauce:
"The first mass marketed Thai-produced Sriracha, and widely regarded as the original, is made by Sriracha Panich (Thai: ศรีราชาพานิช). Sriracha Panich was eventually taken over by the Thai Theparos Food Products Public Company Limited of Thailand which continues to market the sauce under the label "Golden Mountain Sriracha Panich". Panich is Thai for "commercial"."
Phrases such as "first mass marketed" and "widely regarded as the original" are WP:PEACOCK and would have little meaning even if they were given a reliable reference WP:V.
Generally, the history of what company owned a product is not included in Wikipedia, although it might be significant if the product somehow dramatically changes. Thanks. Piano non troppo (talk) 05:11, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
NO, this people originate the source, they are significant.Suredeath (talk) 05:16, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
--
Thank you, but references for Wiki material generally need to be in English. That is particularly true in this case, where WP:PEACOCK language is involved, and where I suspect the company is making unfounded statements about their importance. Regards, Piano non troppo (talk) 05:17, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
Romanization for words of English origin
[edit]On the MOS:JP talk page, a discussion has been started about including or not including romanizations for words of English origin, such as Fainaru Fantajī in Final Fantasy (ファイナルファンタジー, Fainaru Fantajī) (for the sake of simplicity, I called this case "words of English origin", more information on semantics here).
Over the course of a month, it has become apparent that both the parties proposing to include or not include those romanizations cannot be convinced by the arguments or guidelines brought up by the other side. Therefore, a compromise is trying to be found that will satisfy both parties. One suggestion on a compromise has been given already, but it has not found unanimous agreement, so additional compromises are encouraged to be suggested.
One universally accepted point was to bring more users from the affected projects in to help achieve consensus, and you were one of those selected in the process.
What this invitation is:
- You should give feedback on the first suggested compromise and are highly encouraged to provide other solutions.
What this invitation is not:
- This is not a vote on including or excluding such romanizations.
- This is not a vote on compromises either.
It would be highly appreciated if you came over to the MOS:JP talk page and helped find a solution. Thank you in advance. Prime Blue (talk) 11:36, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
