Wikipedia turns 20 – Australia and New Zealand Celebrate
As a fellow editor of Australian articles on Wikipedia through The 5000 Challenge, I wanted to let you know that there will be an Australia/New Zealand Online Community Celebration of Wikipedia's 20th Birthday on Friday 15 January 2021 from 7.00–8.30pm AEDT (6.30pm SA, 6pm QLD, 5.30pm NT, 4pm WA). If interested, please register to receive the link.--Oronsay (talk) 21:20, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
2022 A-League season
According to a couple of sources, the next A-League season will take place entirely in 2022. "It’s expected the following season will be entirely played in the 2022 calendar year"[1] "The following season is likely to be played in the 2022 calendar year, fitting neatly with the World Cup in Qatar, which is slated to begin in November"[2] BLAIXX 23:35, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Blaixx: "expected", "likely" - these are rumours of what might happen. Per WP:CRYSTALBALL we only update what is confirmed to happen. Once can confirmed we can change it (with proper sourcing of course). --SuperJew (talk) 08:05, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- Either way we're making a guess as to when the next season will start but sure, I'll leave it as is until there's rock solid confirmation. BLAIXX 22:04, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Blaixx: Some pages have that parameter empty until confirmation, and that is probably the way it should be. --SuperJew (talk) 23:07, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
Montreal Impact revert
Hi SuperJew, I saw that you reverted my edit on List of Major League Soccer hat-tricks due to the double re-direct. The reason I did that is because I'm going to eventually move Montreal Impact to a disambiguation page because both iterations of the club are fairly notable, although the most recent one (now known as CF Montreal) is still primaryname for now due to recentism. I went through the list and about 35% of the links to the Montreal Impact page went to the wrong ones, so I just redirected them all. Since it will eventually become a disambiguation page, I'm just doing the re-directs in advance. I narrowed it from ~1000 (of which probably 400 went to the wrong team) to about 20 left RedPatchBoy (talk) 18:08, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
- @RedPatchBoy: Ah okay. Why not just redirect it straight to Club de Foot Montréal then? --SuperJew (talk) 18:44, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
- A large portion of the articles needed to be redirected to Montreal Impact (1992–2011), so I found it simpler to just paste that and then delete the date and write MLS, since I was doing both at once. I just found it quicker that way, than to keep switching back and forth. RedPatchBoy (talk) 18:48, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
- Okay cool :) --SuperJew (talk) 18:49, 23 January 2021 (UTC)

As you will see I have cited it directly from the players claims, as contentious as it is it is literally important to every Australian whether they watch AFL or not, due to his previous roles as Nine CEO, as a game show host across Australia, and his rolls within the AFL and outside of it as a commentator. you should more than understand why it is important given your own race. --210.1.220.106 (talk) 08:49, 9 February 2021 (UTC)

literally important to every Australian whether they watch AFL or not
. As I said it should appear in the body (properly sourced and with WP:NPOV) but not in the lede. And no need to bring up my race. --SuperJew (talk) 09:03, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
The article Madeline Searl has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Does not meet WP:NFOOTBALL and not likely to pass WP:GNG. The only piece of coverage found that was more than a name check was an injury announcement.

2021 FFA Cup preliminary round 7
The preliminary round is a part of this season for 4 clubs. This will be played at the same time as the finals series for the A-League, and using the same squad as is described in the club season articles. To put these matches into the next years articles means it could result in goal scorers whao are not in next years squad, which IMHO would also be inconsistent and ambiguous. Whilst the Round of 32 onwards would be a part of next years articles - for the two winners and the 8 other A-League teams - the whole preliminary competition is being played before the end of June, which is also the date that has been used for the definition of the timeframes for the 2020–21 in Australian soccer article. Matilda Maniac (talk) 22:51, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Matilda Maniac: But isn't it preferable to keep all of the 2021 FFA Cup in the same season page? Like for example the transfers of Ulises Davila from Nix to Macarthur and of Stefan Marinovic from Nix to Hapoel Nof HaGalil were announced before the end of the 2020-21 A-League but we will include them only in next season's page as that is what they will effect. --SuperJew (talk) 22:54, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Matilda Maniac: The games will be played in August. --SuperJew (talk) 07:18, 11 June 2021 (UTC)

FFA Cup game between Perth Glory and Melbourne Victory on the brink of being shifted to Melbourne's AAMI Park as Football Australia spokeperson Peter Filopoulos said last Friday and Melbourne Victory will be likely to now host the game as Perth Glory are now set to be losing hosting rights also home ground advantage for the match after Western Australia premier Mark McGowan on September 23rd has banned anyone from Victoria entering Western Australia including professional sports teams as of nearly three weeks ago after Victoria has been classified as a extreme risk by the Western Australia premier. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2402:B801:2846:3100:4438:E8D:27A:DF2A (talk) 14:53, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

Edit-warring

I suggest discussion instead of thoughtless edit-warring. --Pete (talk) 22:45, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Skyring: Haha that's very funny. The Bold here is you (picking up FootballManager2002's edit) changing away from the stable version. I Reverted back to the stable version, and as this has been discussed many times, it borders on vandalism, especially with breaking links and changing historical names just to push your point. Now you need to Discuss and make the change again only if the conensus changes in favour of the version you want to change to. --SuperJew (talk) 22:50, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- The fact remains that you have made three quick reversions. You should know better than that. And, just quietly, but I suggest that you discuss the situation honestly. This isn't going to go away because the fact is that the sources don't back you up. --Pete (talk) 22:55, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Oldham squad
I don't know why you removed the new goal keeper. Please review https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/teams/first-team/ and todays game https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58036216 . So ye, why are you removing the goal keeper? Also, did you check all the new signings? You really should be more careful. Govvy (talk) 23:16, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Govvy: Hey mate, not sure who you are referring to who is a new goalkeeper. Or what signings you are referencing. I don't follow all the news on Oldham Athletic. As I wrote in the edit summary, the update was per https://twitter.com/OfficialOAFC/status/1423978907880067079. If you feel the official list published by the club is missing information, you should check with them. --SuperJew (talk) 05:35, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Govvy: Also, when editing squad lists on team pages, please make sure that the two columns have the same amount of players (or if odd number, than one more in the left column). Your edit here resulted in the left column having two more players. You really should be more careful. --SuperJew (talk) 05:37, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- Lol, you really make me laugh, you removed Number 13, Kacper Danielewicz from the squad list, you went by the twitter post, however as pointed out he was in the days squad and on the first teams website page. (Which is somewhat a mess). And why ping me for a trivial thing such a column alignment, that such a simple fix and such an easy mistake to make, everyone does it! :/ Govvy (talk) 10:51, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Govvy: Again, I don't follow the news on Oldham Athletic and updated based off the Twitter post from the official club page. I didn't know if Kacper Danielewicz is a new signing or an old signing who wasn't removed from the list yet or what. He doesn't even have a Wikipedia page I can check. I actually searched him on Google, and it showed he's a youth player for Oldham Athletic, so I thought it makes sense that he might've been called-up to the bench for the senior squad last season, but this season he's still in the youth and doesn't have a squad number. You should stop making assumptions about other editors' knowledge and be more careful. --SuperJew (talk) 11:42, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- What are you on about? He was issued with the squad number 13, they can't change that till January! You haven't even looked at the BBC link I gave you. Seriously, https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/teams/first-team/goalkeeper/kacper-danielewicz/ First team, number 13, please, enough now. Govvy (talk) 12:27, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Govvy: What do you want from my life? I merely explained to you why I removed him - he didn't appear in the club's squad numbers update and I didn't know what his story is. What should happen in such a case is that you (who knows better) should've added him back to the relevant page with the correct sourcing and that's it. No need to post messages on my talk page with no clear purpose. --SuperJew (talk) 12:33, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

I think it's too late to say that you're assuming good faith when you use the word "vandalism"...
... Don't you think? Dawnseeker2000 05:59, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Dawnseeker2000: No, I don't. Unless you explain why you are removing this information of the publishers of the sources, it looks like vandalism. Especially as you ignored my previous edit and made the same edit again without explanation. --SuperJew (talk) 06:00, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Goalball at the 2020 Summer Paralympics – Women's tournament shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. - Hey how are you? Bit busy as I've started third year of studies, so doing mostly basic upkeep ;) --SuperJew (talk) 08:35, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
- Great to hear from you. I've been well except that recent result in Saitama. What a bummer :( MaskedSinger (talk) 08:38, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
- Yep, it was a bit of a bummer, but not unexpected in my opinion. We still have a lot of work and development to go through :) --SuperJew (talk) 08:50, 21 October 2021 (UTC)

WRONG MOVE
I've noted that you omitted a big chunk of Articles submitted by Kenyan editors on the Achievement section of Months of African Cinema campaign inalleging "they dont exist" which is not the case. Kindly refrain from interfering with our work.--Ms Kabintie (talk) 08:28, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Ms Kabintie: On all the articles I removed, when I clicked the link, I reached a page which says "من ويكيبيديا، الموسوعة الحرة لم يعثر على هذه المادة في ويكي بيانات.", which per Google Translate means "From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This article was not found on Wikidata. ". Perhaps you made a mistake with the linking or name of the article. Please check and if indeed the article was created link it correctly. --SuperJew (talk) 08:37, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- Furthermore, please do not write in all-caps at me - this is akin to shouting and can be considered rude. --SuperJew (talk) 08:38, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- Dear Jew SuperJew apologies if the caps made you feel that way, that was not my intention. It's also been brought to my attention that the entries were erroneously made under the Arabic tag and not in English where they are. We have rectified this. Next time please comment on the talk page it will help guide the new editors who are updating the entries.--Ms Kabintie (talk) 08:58, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Ms Kabintie: Thanks for the apology. I did assume good faith, but pointed it out to explain. Thank you for rectifying the article links. Make sure you indent answers with ":" as I have fixed up. --SuperJew (talk) 09:32, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message
Hey, I just created his article. I'm trying to find information about his early career, and this article seems to have quite a bit of useful information. Unfortunately, it's hidden behind a paywall: do you (or someone you know) have a subscription? The article also seems to be available on other news sites (also behind a paywal). If you can find other stuff about the guy, feel free to add it to the article. Nehme1499 13:23, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
- Ok nvm, I found a way to read it. Still, if you find other stuff let me know :) Nehme1499 13:34, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
- Great job Nehme1499! I added a little bit. Unfortunately I don't have any access to paywalls - I try to see via Google search previews or what people write/post on Twitter. Sometime outline.com helps, but lately seems to not work for me. --SuperJew (talk) 13:56, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
