Disambiguation link notification for April 5
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Wolmido, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page North Korean films (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

For hard work on the important subject of Post-classical history. Thanks!
(But I'd love it if you could write edit summaries in your future work: they're really helpful when you're trying to track how an article has developed!) Alarichall (talk) 21:32, 30 July 2018 (UTC) |

Did you review the sources?
[edit]Its a great resource to get info from others wiki articles....but there is a concern that you actually have not seen the sources you have moved over......must remember you need to seen and verify the source to use them....dont assume the sources are correct. Plus best not to move unsourced info at all. This is just a heads up!---Moxy (talk) 23:37, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
What is your specific concern, with what information, and what source?

Modern History
[edit]Hi Sunriseshore. I see you have nominated Modern History for a GA review. Currently it has three large orange tags at the top. This means it qualifies for a quick fail. You are a new and keen editor so I thought I would see if you wanted to withdraw the nomination. Feel free to ask me any questions on the GA process or anything else here. Re. the GAN for Visa policy of Azerbaijan
[edit]Hello, I see that you have passed my good article nomination! Thank you for that. I am just enquiring as to when you will set the article as a good article? Kind regards, -ASHEIOU (THEY/THEM • TALK) 16:18, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- I did not realize I had to do that,
- I suppose I will add the template right away. Sunriseshore (talk) 16:40, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hiya,
- I've gone ahead and updated it myself. In future, I'd recommend getting the GANReviewTool. It allows you to quickly close GANs without having to manually do much, you just select pass/fail and fill out the little form it gives you. I find it a lifesaver!

Your GA nomination of Post-classical history
[edit]The article Post-classical history you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Post-classical history for reasons why the nomination failed. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into History of the Southern United States. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 23:28, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
Copying within Wikipedia
[edit]You did not identify the source of the material in your edit. It appears to be Mound Builders. Copying within Wikipedia is acceptable but it must be attributed.
This type of edit does get picked up by Copy Patrol and a good edit summary helps to make sure we don't accidentally revert it. However, for future use, would you note the best practices wording as outlined at Wikipedia:Copying_within_Wikipedia? In particular, linking to the source article and adding the phrase "see that page's history for attribution" helps ensure that proper attribution is preserved.
While best practices are that attribution should be added to the edit summary at the time the edit is made, the linked article on best practices describes the appropriate steps to add attribution after the fact. I have done so for you this time, but hope you will follow best practices yourself next time.
I've noticed that this guideline is not very well known, even among editors with tens of thousands of edits, so it isn't surprising that I point this out to some veteran editors, but there are some t's that need to be crossed.~~~~ S Philbrick(Talk) 12:01, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
- I have given many many attributions. Please accept my apologies for letting that one slip by. I am trying to make sure that Native Peoples get more represenation in an article that includes their ancesteral lands. Thanks! Sunriseshore (talk) 12:06, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
