Disambiguation link notification for August 20
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kidnapping, Caucasian Style, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tovarishch. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi. You recently rejected (not just declined) Draft:Raghvendra Sharma as being non-notable. Can you please explain why you decided to reject rather than decline? Curbon7 (talk) 19:13, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hi. I was unable to find any indication of the notability of the topic of the article. Also, the creator of the draft won't be able to continue working on it because of the indefinite block. However, perhaps I should have limited myself to declining. Suitskvarts (talk) 19:59, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
Recent draft decline
[edit]I noticed you recently declined Tiny Toons Looniversity on the basis of it being a copyright violation. While Earwig's copyvio detector is a useful tool, it's recommended to look over any results to make sure that there was actually a copyvio. For example, brief quoted text from an attributed source wouldn't qualify. The draft has been accepted and I've marked the respective article as reviewed, but in the future please be careful before making decisions based off of automated tools. Deauthorized. (talk) 09:41, 4 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, @Deauthorized! It wasn't the quote that bothered me. I realize that quoting is acceptable.
- But is this acceptable under WP:PARAPHRASE? (see link: [1]) Suitskvarts (talk) 10:22, 4 October 2023 (UTC)
- It seems like that text was taken from this fandom page. I managed to find the exact insertion points for those pieces of text; [2] [3], though I'm not entirely sure about who copied who here, or if those two editors are the same person (they're both anonymous editors). This could at least be worth a discussion on the articles talk page. Deauthorized. (talk) 10:38, 4 October 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Suitskvarts:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 2 months outstanding reviews from the current 4+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 November 2023 through 30 November 2023.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
Hirut Bekele's Draft
[edit]- Dear Suitskvarts,
- I am writing to you with an undeniable sense of urgency, passion, frustration, and disappointment, driven by a profound sense of injustice and inequality, regarding the denial of the biography that I submitted for the fifth time.
- I have consistently encountered obstacles and inconsistencies in the review process, which have led to a growing sense of inequality in how similar cases are handled on your platform.
- The most recent denial has left me perplexed as it has come to my attention that a similar artist, was granted the privilege to post their biography on Wikipedia. I have attached the link for your reference:
- These two artist's profiles have a remarkable resemblance in terms of experience, musical history, and the references provided. This raises a fundamental question about the fairness and transparency of Wikipedia's review process.
- I believe that every person should be given an equal opportunity to share their story with a global audience, and I hope that Wikipedia, as a respected platform for information, can uphold these principles.
- I kindly request a thorough evaluation of my biography submission and for you to contemplate the possibility of making revisions.
- I look forward to your prompt responds.
- Regards,
- Benyam
Benyamg (talk) 21:23, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
- Dear @Benyamg!
- It is not about the person you are trying to publish an article about, but about the sources and the way you use them. Several independent reviewers have pointed out to you several times what you need to do to correct the situation. But if you just keep re-submitting your draft without addressing the problem, I'm afraid it will continue to be rejected. Suitskvarts (talk) 23:01, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
Hi Suitskvarts,
In regards to the recent draft of mine you recently declined, I feel my number and usage of sources and citations was significant. Many, many pages of which I used for guidelines and examples for this draft exist on Wikpedia, of which many are far less detailed and have a far lesser degree of information and citation. I'm curious as to see what could be improved on this front as I feel I've covered my bases quite well.
Thank you! Dggravd (talk) 19:58, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, Dggravd!
- In practice, drafts are subject to stricter rules than existing articles. In addition, old and abandoned pages may have poor sources, simply because no experienced editor has looked at them for a long time. Therefore, it is best to focus on the current rules (in our case, these are WP:MUSICBIO and the not entirely official, but useful WP:THREE guide).
- The weakness of your draft is that it relies on non-independent sources, such as the band's label, or the premiere of a song. And we need sources that are reliable and independent, and that they have sufficient coverage. See also WP:SIGCOV, this is important to understand, too. Suitskvarts (talk) 20:21, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
Hi Suitskvarts, thank's for your message and the "promising draft". Could you please precise exact problems with the sources ? I copie wiki France because it is my job in a big part ... I can't do different :) But I am at your disposal to adjust according to your analysis. Bien à vous--Traducteurwiki (talk) 16:33, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Traducteurwiki. It is important to understand that WP is written according to WP:reliable sources, and Wikipedia itself is not such. Moreover, a simple translation from the French WP is not sufficient, since the English WP has stricter standards.
- So, the most correct approach when translating from a French WP is to focus on the sources that are presented in it. If the information cannot be confirmed, one need to find other sources: online or offline. If there is nothing there, then the information should be omitted. Suitskvarts (talk) 19:43, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
- I understand. I'm going to reread the whole thing and leave only what is perfectly sourced. The problem is undoubtedly also that the “Courmes Family” page is missing or additional elements can support the speech on the "Claude-Marie Courmes" page. Bien à vous Traducteurwiki (talk) 21:15, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
- Good evening Suitskvarts,
- as you asked me, I completely reworked my proposed page on "Claude-Marie Courmes" by synthesizing each paragraph and deleting which was not focused on the subject. I also completed the sources on each element of the page.
- Bien à vous Traducteurwiki (talk) 21:25, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Traducteurwiki Thank you for your hard work. You should resubmit your draft to be accepted now. Suitskvarts (talk) 18:17, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
- I try, ... Thanks. Bien à vous.--Traducteurwiki (talk) 18:29, 3 December 2023 (UTC)

Translations
[edit]Hi, I saw on Jean Baechler that you asked if the draft was a translation from fr-wiki. If someone has properly attributed their translation, it will show you this in their first edit summary. They did do so in this case. Here's the edit summary for reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jean_Baechler&oldid=1186475693. asilvering (talk) 17:27, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, @Asilvering. Oh thanks, I didn't notice this before, only paying attention to Template:Translated_page on Talk pages. Suitskvarts (talk) 19:52, 23 November 2023 (UTC)
- Ah, if only everyone used that template... That talk page template is really helpful, but it's the edit summary that is required, not the template. So if you see an article that uses the translated page template but doesn't have anything in the edit history, you may want to make a dummy edit and add that information yourself. -- asilvering (talk) 00:22, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
Draft:2023-2024 FA Trophy
[edit]Hi Suitskvarts,
Nothing against you as you're simply the latest to decline the FA Trophy draft for 2023-2024! I'm not editing the page, simply a user looking to see the page go live. Looking at 2023-2024's page and the approved 2022-2023 page for the previous year's competition -- bar the Eligibility section, which is missing from the draft -- it's exactly the same up to the results sections (which, for obvious reasons, cannot be the same as before).
Can anyone in the approval community outline exactly what's needed to get the page live? As it's extremely frustrating to be in the third round of a live competition and not have a live page by now, especially as all the results logged are correct - I'd do it myself if anyone could pinpoint exactly what's missing.
Hoping for a speedy resolution - at least before next summer's final, anyway!
Cheers. B88 Britannia88 (talk) 20:32, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Britannia88.
- Well, there are already three comments there, which indicate exactly what is missing. There are not enough WP:SECONDARY sources there. Suitskvarts (talk) 16:16, 25 November 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Divine rank
[edit]Hello Suitskvarts,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Divine rank for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.
If you don't want Divine rank to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

- Hello, @MPGuy2824!
I did approved Shinkai (divine rank) as AfC reviewer recently, but what you are talking about must be something else. Was I the right guy to inform? I don't remember touching the page with this title in any namespace.- Update. I got what happened. The page original name was Draft:Divine rank. And I renamed it to "Draft:Shinkai (divine rank)" before moving to mainspace. What you speed-deleted probably was a bug or something.

Draft:Camara_Kambon
[edit]Hi Suitskvarts,
I updated the draft for the article about Camara Kambon accoring to previous suggestions, but can see that it was declined yet again. I can see that you have commented:
"Sources are not cited for some statements. Where does this information come from?"
Which statements are you referring to? I am sure I could either find sources or remove those if it will help me get the article published.
The article is based on extensive personal interviews with the composer. A really humble guy who has always kept a low profile in the industry (hence not a great deal of extensive media coverage yet), who deserves some recognition and his own Wikipedia page for all the impact he has had in the film music industry, and on legendary hip hop albums. His name is already mentioned on several other Wikipedia pages.
Would it be easier to get the page accepted if I wrote a much shorter article about him? I personally know of musicians and artists who have not achieved a tenth of what this talented, humble and super legit guy has achieved, who have longer Wikipedia pages that him.
PS: He will contact Berkley for them to update their information regarding his Emmy nominations and awards (they have the correct information regarding the Grammy nominations).
AnamSoul (talk) 17:01, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, @AnamSoul!
- I see no references after these phrases:
He simultaneously attended the St. Paul’s School for Boys, and later, Friends School of Baltimore during the daytime, while taking evening and weekend classes at Peabody four days a week.
The following year, he composed Paskhaius for the music composition category, where he was a first-place winner. In spring of 1991, Kambon would graduate from Friends School and Peabody with honors in classical & jazz piano and musicianship.
After graduating from Berklee in 1995, Kambon moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a composer, initially working as a pianist, performing locally in clubs and on small tours. During this time he was hired as assistant music director for Fox Broadcasting Company’s talk show The Keenen Ivory Wayans Show.
- Also, you are overlooking an important point! Articles should not be based on an interview with a person, because you can say anything about yourself. Please focus on what independent sources have written about the person: journalists and so on. Otherwise your draft may be rejected again.
- To answer your question, I can't say that the size of the article is that important. It is important that the text of the article is based on reliable sources. Suitskvarts (talk) 18:40, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thank for your reply. I get what you are saying. I will continue working on it. AnamSoul (talk) 18:53, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
