French Open results
[edit]Please don't add information about French Open results until a player actually loses. The infobox is for their best performance in their career, and we have no idea who will win or lose in the first round at Roland Garros yet, as the tournament is yet to start. SHould a player actually lose in the first round, your edits would be correct, but right now, they are not. Courcelles 18:40, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm... ok then... but they reached at least in the first round. But let's wait then, when they loses. --Stryn(t) 18:50, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

Your request for rollback
[edit]Hi Stryn. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 21:38, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges. A full list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on will be at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

ifpi.fi and singlechart
[edit]Hi! (I'm not sure if the Wikipedia currently notifies about these, but anyway.) Name of Capitol Shooting Incident article
[edit]There are two other articles involving earlier shooting incidents:
Should the name of the current name, 2013 United States Capitol shooting incident, be changed back to United States Capitol shooting incident (2013) for the sake of consistency?

Yksityisyyssyistä haluaisin poiston. Täällä enkkuwikissä riittää ainakin käyttäjän oma pyyntö, fi-wikiin en voi enää kirjautua koska olen hävittänyt kirjautumistiedot. Olet estänyt IP-osoitteeni muokkaamisen vandalismin vuoksi
[edit]Hei Stryn! Voitko poistaa asettamasi eston? IP-osoitteeni on (87.93.119.108), eston tunnus on (#1951649) ja eston kohde on (87.93.0.0/16). IP-osoitteeni vaihtuu kun suljen tietokoneen, mutta tahtoisin muokata wikipediaa tämän päivän ajan tästä osoitteesta. 87.93.119.108 (talk) 11:10, 7 February 2015 (UTC)
- Hei! --Stryn (talk) 11:19, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

Helloo!! Great!! Well , she actually did a song with novaemusik and held a license for one song with blanco y negro once but she did not get signed and she quit in the middle of the promo (you can't even find those songs on youtube anymore.. they were removed) .So I would omit that and leave just the current deal she has since 2012 with Sony ATV/EMI wich is the official one if it's ok . Thank you very much for your patience. I really appreciate that :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Targaryen12345 (talk • contribs) 13:00, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for the info. I pretty much liked "Animal", but yeah, it's not on YouTube anymore. I feel like it's my responsibility to correct the article as I'm the person who started the article here in 2012. I made these changes now to my draft. Is it ok now or something still should be corrected? --Stryn (talk) 08:10, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
Hi again thank you very much :) I submitted a draft with the official info the label gave me and I think we should leave it like that as long it is 100% verifiable.. what do you think? sorry for bothering — Preceding unsigned comment added by Targaryen12345 (talk • contribs) 13:31, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks. Well, you can't just remove those parts of texts where is told about "Midnight" and "Animal". We know that those singles have been released also, so they should be included in the article as they are also part of Santos' music career. --Stryn (talk) 13:39, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

Terrorism support by editing Wikipedia articles
[edit]In case of your very strong position in Wikipedia you can edit articles and mark that changes as WP:POV pushing. But be careful when you do it in case of support of terrorists! The terrorists organizations like Donetsk People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic is the same terrorists as the ISIS or Al-Qaeda, and when you made revert of the edit with clear definition about it - you directly supported them! There is only one Point of view possible on terrorism, if you disagree, them you support the terror --Ipadm (talk) 09:19, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
- I was only reverting vandalism, and I don't think that it's called the same as supporting terrorism. --Stryn (talk) 20:27, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

And the username when I sign in still says neuro.NeuroproteXeon (talk) 03:36, 27 February 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Macbflo (talk • contribs)
- Thank you for reporting. I have no idea what's going on... I have filed a bug report at Phab:T128276. --Stryn (talk) 14:15, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
I see you renamed this user after I performed a block. The rename resolves the block rationale and the user should be promptly unblocked by a reviewing administrator once the COI issues are also resolved. My question is regarding the rename request - I couldn't find it. Generally, if I see a user has gone after a rename, I might hold off on a block. So, to avoid me blocking someone with a pending rename request in the future, could you tell me where they requested the rename? Was it on meta?--v/r - TP 06:31, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
- Hi TParis, you can find the global rename log at Meta. And there is a link to the request, but you don't have access to see the request. The request was left using the Special:GlobalRenameRequest. Regards, --Stryn (talk) 06:53, 7 April 2016 (UTC)
- Huh, some things have changed since I've been gone. I wasn't aware of that extension. Thanks.--v/r - TP 07:08, 7 April 2016 (UTC)

A cup of coffee for you!
[edit]Thank you for volunteering to serve as a scrutineer for this year's Arbitration Committee elections. Your service to the English Wikipedia community is deeply appreciated. Mz7 (talk) 22:50, 12 December 2016 (UTC) |
Yes
[edit]Yes, I really disagree with URunICon because of his selfish. Then, do you want to block me??
IreneTandry (talk) 00:04, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
- You can disagree with anyone, but the problem are your edit summaries that shouldn't be used to attack against other users. And I won't block you. Just change your behavior a little. Thanks Stryn (talk) 11:01, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
No, I won't. I still with my behavior if the other users still accuse me as vandal although I truly contribute to Wikipedia. You're similar with URunICon. If you won't make problem with me, I won't come/reply to your talk page and you may not come/reply/warn to my talk page. That's it. IreneTandry (talk) 11:51, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
- You are making problems yourself if you continue attacking users, but I'm not going to follow your edits or edit summaries anymore, as I'm not that active in this project. But you will get into problems with English Wikipedia admins if you don't change your behavior, best --Stryn (talk) 11:54, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
Then, I will not listen just to you and your ally, URunICon. I know the rule but users like you and your ally URunICon accuse me as vandal and I don't accept it. I give you "the middle-finger". IreneTandry (talk) 05:54, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
- Where did I say you are a vandal? Stryn (talk) 06:04, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
Can you read your own message? Are you blind? "You will get into problems with English Wikipedia admins". You swear at me and accuse me as vandal again like URunICon. I didn't change my behavior because of you and you ally, URunICon. If you stop warning me like "the Lord", I will edit at Wikipedia better like users generally. IreneTandry (talk) 10:48, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
Discussion closed and no reply expected. Not possible to talk constructively with you. Stryn (talk) 10:52, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
Yes, discussion is really close and no talk constructively with you too.... Because you are from Finland, just like URunICon, and I suspect you and URunICon are allies. IreneTandry (talk) 10:55, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

Deletion request
[edit]OK, that makes more sense. I declined it because you'd marked it for deletion because it was a test page, and it's perfectly OK for people to experiment in their own user sandbox. Hut 8.5 21:19, 6 December 2017 (UTC)

Help us design granular blocks!
[edit]Hello :-) The Anti-Harassment Tools team at the Wikimedia Foundation will start building these granular blocking tools in a few weeks and we've asked WMF designer Alex Hollender to help us make some wireframes so the tools are intuitive to MediaWiki users.
We have a first draft of how we think this tool should work. You can read the full proposed implementation here but here are the significant parts:
- Granular blocks (page, category, namespace, and file uploading) will be built on top of Special:Block. These blocks will function as if they were regular blocks and allow for the same options, but only take effect on specific pages.
- We will add a new checkbox for "Block this user from the whole site" which will be checked by default. When it is unchecked the admin will be able to specify which pages, categories, and/or namespaces the user should be blocked from editing.
- Granular blocks can be combined and/or overlap. (For example, a user could be simultaneously blocked from editing the articles Rain, Thunder, Lightning, and all pages inside the Category:Weather.)
- Only one block is set at a time, to adjust what the user is blocked from the administrator would have to modify the existing block.
- Block logs should display information about the granular block
- When a blocked user attempts to edit an applicable page, they should see a block warning message which include information on their block (reason, expiration, what they are blocked from, etc.)
- If a category is provided, the blocked user cannot edit either the category page itself and all pages within the category.
- If the File: namespace is blocked, the user should not be allowed to upload files.
We like this direction because it builds on top of the existing block system, both a technical and usability wise. Before we get too far along with designs and development we'd like to hear from you about our prosposal:
- What do you think of the proposed implementation?
- We believe this should be an expansion of Special:Block, but it has been suggested that this be a new special page. What are your thoughts?
- Should uploading files be combined with a File namespace block, or as a separate option? (For example, if combined, when a user is blocked from the File namespace, they would neither be able to edit any existing pages in the File namespace nor upload new files.)
- Should there be a maximum number of things to be blocked from? Or should we leave it up to admin discretion?
We appreciate your feedback on this project's talk page or by email. For the Anti-Harassment Tools team, SPoore (WMF) (talk) , Trust and Safety Specialist, Community health initiative (talk) 20:54, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
- @SPoore (WMF): your links are broken. Also, why did I get this message on enwiki when I very rarely edit here? I would expect to see this kind of messages instead on Meta. Stryn (talk) 21:01, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
My poem is bad but my apology for the bad links is sincere!

Why am I blocked
[edit]Hi Stryn,
I was wondering why you blocked me. I am a student in a Digital Writing Course on Wikipedia, from the University of Sydney and I need to access Wikipedia in order to complete my coursework.
Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brubyk6901 (talk • contribs) 02:43, 30 March 2019 (UTC)

Global watchlist - Update 1
[edit]Updates associated with DannyS712's Global watchlist script:
- General announcements
- Management has migrated to phabricator; to report a bug or request a feature, please create a new task with the script's tag
- Message translation has been reduced; for common messages that are already translated in mediawiki core, the system translations are used, in order to reduce duplication of efforts
- Recent additions
- New pages are shown at the start of a site's feed
- Log entries are shown at the end of a site's feed
- Basic validation has been added to user settings, applied before saving
- Site validation has also been added; a site (excluding unique projects like wikidata, meta, commons, etc.) is considered to be valid if it is the form of "language.project", where both the language code and project name are valid. It does not, however, check that the actual site is valid; only that it could be. In other words, even though
sco.wiktionary
refers to a site that doesn't exist, it is considered valid, becausesco
is a valid language code (sco.wikipedia
is a working site) andwiktionary
is a valid project.
- Announcements
- BREAKING CHANGE: Backwards compatibility supporting the use of sites as
*.*.org
(like 'en.wikipedia.org' or 'meta.wikimedia.org'), deprecated in version 1.7.5, will be removed soon; all sites should now be saved as*.*
(like 'de.wikinews' or 'fr.wikisource') - BREAKING CHANGE: Storing user sites as
window.GlobalWatchlistSites
, deprecated in version version 1.11.11, will be removed soon; all settings should be stored in thewindow.GlobalWatchlistConfig
object - Both of these breaking changes will be implemented alongside version 4.0; until then, any use of the config page (m:Special:BlankPage/GlobalWatchlistConfig) will result in saving settings in the newest format
- Next release
Version 4.0 should be released in around a week. It will include the new features mentioned above, as well as removal of backwards compatibility for settings and sites.
I've sent this first message to users that participated in the discussion at m:Community Wishlist Survey 2019/Watchlists/Revive Crosswatch tool or otherwise shown interest in the script. To subscribe or unsubscribe from future updates, see the distribution list.

Global watchlist - Update 2
[edit]Updates associated with DannyS712's Global watchlist script:
- General notes
- To report a bug or request a feature, please create a new task on Phabricator with the script's tag
- Recent additions
- Site validation has been tightened. Previously, only the language code and project name had to be valid - now, they must be a valid combination (i.e.
en.wikiversity
exists, and so is valid, butsco.wikiversity
is not valid, because no such wiki exists). - When the global watchlist feed is loading, an OOUI widget will be shown, rather than an animated gif.
- An option has been added to no longer group edits to the same page. For now, this isn't very useful, since metadata for the edits (editor, summary, tags, etc.) are not yet shown, but they will be soon. Until then, ungrouped edits are treated the same as pages with only 1 edit - the minor and bot flags are displayed if applicable. If edits are grouped, the minor and bot flags are only shown if they apply to all of the edits.
- Upcoming changes
- Starting with version 5.0, there will be an option at the settings page to switch to and from a "stable" version of the script. When activated, the script import in your global.js should be replaced, and then the page refreshed with the new script loaded. The stable script will live at m:User:DannyS712/Global watchlist/stable.js, and will be updated with each full release. Otherwise, it shouldn't be edited, providing a version that is less prone to bugs as the script is developed.
- Announcements
- WARNING: Starting with version 5.1, the option to mark the pages of a site as seen be implemented using the
entirewatchlist
API option, rather than manually listing the titles. This is being done to simplify the implementation code. This will result in the same functionality as marking all pages as seen via Special:Watchlist (i.e. even if the page isn't visible due to your filter choices, it will still be marked as seen). If you would like to keep using the current method for a while, please switch to the stable branch.
- Next release
Version 5.0 has just gone live. It includes the new features mentioned above.

[edit]Global watchlist - Update 3
[edit]Updates associated with DannyS712's Global watchlist script:
- Survey
- I am investigating adding more context to each entry that is shown (such as the edit summaries, tags, patrol marks, the user who made the edit, etc.). Is there any desire for such additions? If so, what should be added first, and what is a low priority? Please leave feedback on the relevant phabricator task, phab:T238300.
- Recent additions
- Site validation has been overhauled. Rather than hard-coding a list of valid sites, users will be able to watch any site where they have an attached local user account. If a site is rejected as invalid, please ensure that there is indeed a local account attached to your global account.
- Users will now be alerted regarding the results of attempting to update their settings.
- Live updates have been added - when activated, the script will refresh in the background, and then load the new feed, every 7.5 seconds. In the future, this frequency may be configurable.
- OOUI icons have been added to most buttons.
- There is now an option to eliminate the confirmation dialog when marking all sites as seen.
- Announcements
- WARNING: Starting with version 6.1, site aliases currently used when saving settings will be removed, and only sites in the form of `lang.project` will be accepted.
- As noted in the last update, marking a site as seen now uses
entirewatchlist
, which means that any changes to watched pages between when the watchlist was loaded and when the site was "marked as seen" may be ignored.
- Next release
Version 6.0 was just finalized for the development and stable branches of the script.
To subscribe or unsubscribe from future updates, see the distribution list.
