Hey Starbeam, why did you remove the table with the future tense forms and past tense forms in the Modern Hebrew conjugation article? Now it is way less clear how the conjugation works than it was previously, so would you restore it?Merijn2 (talk) 17:46, 5 October 2019 (UTC)
- I removed it because it's largely predictable, and a giant bulky table seemed to be kind of annoying to memorize. I can put something back for them if need be. But please tell me you didn't/ won't touch the rest of the stuff i changed. Starbeam2 (talk) 18:07, 5 October 2019 (UTC)

Voice casts in video game articles
[edit]Hi there. Sorry to undo so much if your work, but please see WP:GAMECRUFT point #11. Wikipedia doesn’t include voice casts in articles. Thats probably why you were finding so many popular articles that didn’t have them. Anyways, just wanted to let you know so you don’t waste any more time on that. Thanks. Regarding the BTVA sourcing
[edit]Hello there. Since you're relatively new to the project (and if you haven't done so), I would like to direct you to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Online reliable sources, which contains very useful information on how to use sources for anime and manga (including the voice actors). The actual details for using BTVA as a source are in the situational section; please note that "Roles and lists that are not check-marked (covered by a screenshot), despite being listed under that actor, cannot be used. BTVA Award sections can be used, but only the staff's choice (not people's choice) is notable for wins. Other site sections such as actor biographical data, trivia, side-by-sides, voice-matching analysis, polls, credits count, and forum sections are not verified and should not be used." If you have any problems, please drop a line here, or on my talk page. Thanks, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 09:59, 13 November 2019 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for February 14
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited German exonyms (Vojvodina), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Krajišnik (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of List of German exonyms for places in Italy
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on List of German exonyms for places in Italy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of German exonyms for places in Italy. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. [edit]Hello, I'm Mr.Sarcastic. I noticed that in this edit to Greek exonyms, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mr.Sarcastic (talk) 08:00, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Modern Hebrew Verbs: Tables
[edit]Dear Starbeam2,
When refactoring the tables in Modern Hebrew verbs, please try and keep all entries previously made that details conjugations intact.
Also, avoid "WIP" edits, not best practice in updating information, it's better to publish completed edits than to have missing information.
I'm reverting some tables back, but will incorporate your edits as they present additional information, as well as being more neat & concise.
Just a quick little formatting thing with tables, use of "<br>" for new lines within a table, makes it a little more compact for what you're aiming for!
Thank you for your time in reading this, hope this isn't too much of an upset for you, and appreciate the effort work you've put into this.
Kind regards,
EruannoVG (talk) 03:30, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for giving me the heads up on my edits, as well as keeping my design and information. I really appreciate it.
- Tho, I should mention I used visual editor whenever possible to save time, so I'm unsure what much of your instructions would have me do. I also do work-in-progress mentions on longer articles (such as the Hebrew verbs article and List of stage names), as I am unable to do swooping edits in my sandbox or in one go for technical reasons. Again, I only use visual editor for scratch work, so maybe there's a trick I'm missing to getting larger edits done in a single update?
- Starbeam2 (talk) 03:59, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Starbeam2,
- My means of editing is just using Wikitext markup where I've used "<br>", as well as a text editor program to edit different lines simultaneously.
Unfortunately I'm not familiar with Visual Editor is (I had to look it up!) so I'm unable to help there for the time being sorry. - What I meant by complete rather than WIP was that parts changed must be complete before submitting,
e.g. work and complete 1 or 2 tense conjugation tables, submit, then work on the next tables, rather than changing all the tables and not filling the details in.
Don't worry too much about larger edits, that can quickly get frustrating to handle and manage! - I hope that answers your questions. All the best to your future edits!
- Kind regards,
- EruannoVG (talk) 13:05, 9 January 2021 (UTC)
A Thousand and One Nights (1969 film) English cast
[edit]Hello! According to the edit history on the page for A Thousand and One Nights (1969 film) [1] it looks like you added the English cast for the movie's dub to Wikipedia. Do you remember where you got that information? I'm trying to find a source for it and I haven't had much luck yet. Thanks for your help! (Amonduul (talk) 16:21, 23 April 2021 (UTC))
- Most of the cast is sourced by ear, from deductions done on BehindTheVoiceActors "Whose Voice Is This" forums using comparisons with other movies by the same dub studio (Spa Roma). The exception to the rule is Frederick Neumann as Aldin, who is also the director. Roman-English dubs had the same person as the director dub the lead. To be clear, I neither made the deductions nor do i represent BTVA.Starbeam2 (talk) 17:51, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

[edit]An article you recently created, List of stage names beginning with X, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:

Hey so, last year you changed a link in Z to point to Scottish Gaelic instead of Scots language. It was in the comparison table you made, which originally had Scots pointing to Scots language. So, User:HappyWithWhatYouHaveToBeHappyWith was confused about that and asked why "Scots" pointed to Scottish Gaelic in the talk page. I ended up changing the link to point to Modern Scots, since that seemed correct, but if it really should point to Scots Gaelic then just come to the talk page. Qualms with your changes to "Anglo-Saxon runes"
[edit]Some of the changes you made to the article on Anglo-Saxon runes are strange. Letter names aren't usually capitalised. A bunch of the rune name spellings you added aren't from the surviving rune charts, and aren't standardised/modernised spellings of those names. The Letter column you added to the rune combination chart is puzzling. Hurlebatte (talk) 03:03, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
- Letter names are capitalized because they're proper nouns. I truthfully don't understand how copying exact transcription quirks of runes is necessary in a chart meant to introduce them.
- The letter name spellings are not from the surviving rune charts, but they are the words being referred to and the charts still contain the cited form. Orthography everywhere was freeform and only relatively consistent for centuries on end, so it helps to have an indexable spelling. As for the standardizations, what do you mean? Keep in mind the runic labels are the only time <j> is used for anything Old English.
- Lastly, the "letter column" labels the rune letters making a cluster. There's nothing else to that. Starbeam2 (talk) 04:21, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
- I don't think letter names are traditionally capitalised, and this is reflected elsewhere on Wikipedia.
- Some of the rune name spellings you inserted aren't just unusual, they're completely unattested, and some even use letters that aren't in Old English. For example, you have "Ødil (ǿþel)" written for ᛟ.
- Labelling the runes in the combination chart is redundant because the preceding chart gives the names of the runes already. Hurlebatte (talk) 14:22, 8 September 2023 (UTC)
- Why do the letter/ rune names have to be lowercase? Those are proper names distinct from anything else, and i'm not the type to do things simply because they've always been done a certain way. I'm not going to die on the hill, but i feel i'm missing key information.
- I have seen <ø> used for scholarly writings of Old English, marking dialects that had the phoneme. I know the exact <ø> letter is a modern indexing convention, like the marking of long vowels, and did not occur in the corpus of the language itself. Plus, most of the writing is for and on West Saxon, which lacked it. Generally speaking, i do not see the need to use verbatim transcriptions; given spelling was variable for centuries, the fact it only represented the scribe's singular dialect, and that much of what is posted is not a direct quote. Again, not a hill i will die on.
- As for labelling runes in the combination chart, it's to sort them easier. But i get it takes up space. Starbeam2 (talk) 18:25, 8 September 2023 (UTC)
- Shared standards have various benefits, which is why there's a trend in modern times towards shared standards.
- The spellings you inserted aren't attested at all, and they use letters Anglo-Saxons never used like J and Ø. You're downplaying the strangeness of these spellings. Hurlebatte (talk) 16:59, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, standardized systems have benefits. They also have flaws, i'm not asking to do things idiosyncratically.
- As for the spellings <j> and <ø>: Ø has been used before me, just only in scholarly transcriptions. The <j> matches cognate runes. The purpose overall is to have one rune = one letter. Regardless, i realize it's not worth me arguing over, so it's not a big deal if you edit it back. Starbeam2 (talk) 19:13, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
