Per your request on the relevant AFD, I have moved Casa Grande (Museum) to your userspace at User:Star Mississippi/Casa Grande (Museum). Good luck-- Eddie891 Talk Work 21:14, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

Thank you @Eddie891:. Let me know if you want me to ping you before restoring once I've worked on it. StarM 23:19, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, if you could ping me after, that would be great! Best, Eddie891 Talk Work 23:20, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
Will do, @Eddie891:. Based on what I've found I think there's enough for WP:ORG, but should I be wrong I'll let you know as well. StarM 23:21, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
@Eddie891: I had a chance to look into this over the weekened and have deleted the userfied version. Turned out there were two historic houses with the same name. "Ours" wasn't notable, but the other one might be. I'll contemplate a page for that as time allows, but nothing usable from the AfDed one. StarM 18:48, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
Tks for letting me know! Best, Eddie891 Talk Work 11:25, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

User:David Biddulph, User:Star Mississippi, User:AlanM1 - She is now making the usual requests concerning referencing errors about articles on the British royal family, but is now at the Teahouse. Maybe she realizes that the Reference Desk has gotten tired of her. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:45, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

I vaguely recall her doing this once before. I'm curious why she's still allowed to continue. It's not as if her edits are necessary. I'd argue they're a net negative as we (collectively) expend more energy fixing them then the improvements her edits add. Would support sanctions at ANI as she shows no indication of stopping or even combining her posts per day. StarM 17:19, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
@Robert McClenon, Hoary, and David Biddulph: They've now promised to go away for a "long time" at Special:Diff/967772960, hopefully keeping the peace for a while. If we see any more, I concur with bringing a CIR complaint to AN*. The IP range affected is 175.32.0.0/15 (possibly even /13), is not so easily watched because of all the other activity there. It would have been nice to address the logged-out editing issue to make them easier to watch, but letting now-sleeping dogs lie seems a better course of action. —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 13:44, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the update (and showing me how to reply as a bonus!) @AlanM1, Robert McClenon, Hoary, and David Biddulph:. I almost feel bad as I'm not sure if there's a tech competence issue wherein they can't find the updates, or a broader lack of competence to edit. Continually asking the same questions isn't a solution though. The articles are easily enough watched as they're the same general subjects, but maybe this diva quit will be the first ever in Wikipedia history to stick. StarM 16:41, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

Sock tagging

Hi, I haven't seen you around SPI before, thanks for helping out. But, regarding this edit, the sock tags should go on the user page, not the user talk page. Happy sock hunting! -- RoySmith (talk) 02:14, 19 December 2020 (UTC)

Thank you @RoySmith:! You're correct, SPI is entirely new to me, so thanks for the tip and fixing my malformed addition to the SPI report. I'm not sure it's one I will be more involved with, but always happy to help where needed. Wonder if sock season is as fun as wabbit season. StarM 02:37, 19 December 2020 (UTC)

Hi. Earlier I had opened this article to review, then got sidetracked, when I went back to it, I saw that you had moved it draftspace. While I completely agree that it should be in draftspace, it had already been draftified once, and as per WP:DRAFTIFY, if there is any objection to the draftification, it should be moved back to mainspace, "Other editors (including the author of the page) have a right to object to moving the page. If an editor raises an objection, move the page back to mainspace and if it is not notable list at AfD." Shouldn't it be moved back and sent to AfD? Onel5969 TT me 16:41, 19 December 2020 (UTC)

Thanks @Onel5969:. I wasn't familiar with that element of WP:DRAFTIFY, so appreciate you bringing it to my attention. I guess we're going to AfD. Also @DGG: who I'd raised the article with due to his expertise around academics. See: User_talk:DGG#Leandro_Bueno_Bergantin. I'll revert my move and semi-protection. StarM 17:05, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
Star Mississippi, no worries. Working at NPP, I've become quite familiar with draftify. But wasn't sure there wasn't something I wasn't missing. Thanks for all your work on the project. Onel5969 TT me 17:12, 19 December 2020 (UTC)

Did you discuss this redirection anywhere, or did you make it on your sole discrection?

A redirection like this is tantamount to a stealth deletion, and, I suggest someone making it should consider themselves under the same WP:BEFORE obligation as someone nominating an article for deletion. Geo Swan (talk) 08:32, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

@Geo Swan:. No history with the article, found it cleaning out a backlog. Feel free to check my contribs, they're all over the map aside from mostly being 2009-11 notability tags. Could not come up with any evidence (yes, I searched if that's what you're referring to in BEFORE, BRD doesn't require prior consensus either) that it was a standalone concept. There's no discussion of the concept in any reliable sources outside mentions of possible "guest houses" which often alternatively used "safe house" terminology. Feel free to revert if you disagree, but I may take it to AfD down the line. It's not a priority right now other than general clean up. StarM 14:40, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
I think your conflation of "Taliban guest house" and "al Qaeda safehouse" was a mistake.
Creating a More Meaningful Detention Statute: Lessons Learned from Hedges v. Obama, for instance, says: "In Sulayman v. Obama, the detainee submitted a declaration from a political science professor (who was an expert in Yemeni history) that stated that “there is nothing inherently suspicious or sinister about . . . stay[ing] in guesthouses” in Pakistan or Afghanistan." Geo Swan (talk) 15:26, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
Legal scholars at Seton Hall University published over a dozen methodical analyses of the allegations used to justify the detention of individuals in Guantanamo. Students at West Point published an attempt at a rebuttal. Here is a quote from SHU's rebuttal of the WP rebuttal:
Seton Hall’s methodology required that Seton Hall accept all of the Department of Defense’s data and definitions. As such, Seton Hall’s study used the Department of Defense’s terms objectively and accepted their plain meanings—unlike the West Point study—which subjectively interprets the Department’s terms in order to extrapolate different meanings from what was given. It is logically possible that West Point is correct, but that would be a reflection on the carefulness and accuracy of the Department of Defense’s records. However, West Point does not provide any basis for equating guest houses and safe houses other than the obvious problem with detaining an individual in part based on his stay in a “guest” house...
In fact, guest houses are a preferred form of lodging for American, European, and local travelers in the region. Guest houses typically offer budget rates compared with large hotels, and are similar to bed-and-breakfasts. The actual definition of “guest house” is important not only because it is quite different from what is connoted by the term “safe house,” but also because the Department of Defense itself distinguished between the two in detainees’ unclassified summaries...
I think your larger issue might be with the fact that Taliban guest house is (separately, and longer-standing) a redirect to al Qaeda safehouse. Might that need addressing separately? Like I said, feel free to revert. I feel like this discussion might be more helpful on an article talk so others can find it. Not at all saying don't post here - just that it will be more findable as a resource to more people. I'm not a high traffic talk page. StarM 16:16, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

I have removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}} tag from Omar Cuff, which you proposed for deletion. The subject likely passes WP:GNG, and I have added several references to the article.. If you still think this article should be deleted, please do not add {{proposed deletion}} back to the page. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! Eagles 24/7 (C) 20:38, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

Thanks Eagles247 (and I remember you from some friendly NYG-Eagles banter when I was more active). The Cuff Show one clearly addresses WP:N so I think we're all set. Not sure what was broken with my google when I looked. StarM 21:18, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

Please be careful with tags.

This edit is one of two where you used a <small> tag with no coresponding </small> afterwards, affecting the rest of the discussions below it on the AfD daily page. BD2412 T 01:53, 25 December 2020 (UTC)

FYI, being a dean is not sufficient for PROF. The highest position at a university is president (or in some places the vice-chancellor). Happy editing! --Randykitty (talk) 09:19, 24 January 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for that clarification @Randykitty:. Do you want me to reopen the AfD? StarM 14:39, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
    • And I definitely appreciate that for future ones so I know @Randykitty:. My gut is it was trending toward a no consensus, at worst, so reopening is likely going to bring us to the same place. I imagine it may get revisited down the road and as mine was a withdrawn, it wouldn't preclude a future delete consensus. Thanks again StarM 18:05, 24 January 2021 (UTC)

I think it is good that experienced people like you can answer users who have many questions.

Hi. I write to you with great respect. I have no intention of fighting or winning a fight. I just want you to answer questions about the article about Elon Musk. Why are very few users able to edit this article? Why are edits reverted to many users and a few users can edit without their edits being reversed? HAL333 Why can this user remove content without having to explain anything on the talk page? Many well-intentioned users are unable to edit this article because this user reverts most users' edits. The user can modify the article at will and other users must always use the talk page. Why does this user have privileges over the other Wikipedia users?. The user has removed a lot of content from the main article without having to use the talk page. I just want you to answer me. I think it is good that experienced people like you can answer users who have many questions. All my esteem and appreciation towards you. --JShark (talk) 03:22, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

There is a conflict of interest in this article. [1] Apparently I am not the only one who has noticed the same about this user QRep2020. The users Elephanthunter and BoMadsen88 are absolutely right. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest/Noticeboard#QRep2020 --JShark (talk) 05:16, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
Clearly the integrity of this article is not good. It would be good if many users talk about this topic and so there would be no doubts about the integrity of this article in the future. --JShark (talk) 05:28, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

I'm unable to answer your questions as I'm completely unfamiliar with the article. I don't believe I've ever edited it. It looks like this might be handled from your Talk, but in general the Help Desk is the best place to go @JShark: StarM 14:22, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

Saw your message. The Afd was far more complex because of the initiator, but you already knew that. It's closed now, and I am not happy about the closure. I vented my frustrations on the editor who performed the closure, but I'm not going to kill anymore of my time or anyone else's. Thank you though for assessing the situation and giving participates a fair chance. Jerm (talk) 05:34, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

Thanks Jerm. I just saw your note on Barkeep's Talk. I think this was a discussion where either side of the discussion would have been unhappy with the close as it legitimately could have gone either way. I personally don't care for single word closes unless it's blatantly clear. I thought for a half second about closing it when I flagged the nom as a sock but saw good conversation happening. I have a feeling it will be re-nominated cleanly. I never had the chance to weigh the sources so didn't end up voting myself. Have a good day! StarM 15:37, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

Edit War on Silas Texas

verything that I wrote was obviously backed up by the sources.

It says Bear Bayou as one of the alternative names on TexasAlmanac

The community’s name changing frequently is a reference to the names changing from Battle Ridge to Bear Bayou to Silas Baines to Silas. Can’t copy from the source

66% white 33% black, it says 90 white to 64 black, simple math into percentages, again can’t copy from source, you’re asking for too much

And Silas was expanding because it was! The settlement had a gin, sawmill, school, the source mentioned the houses getting spread out. A lot of backup for this one

The area began attracting settlers before the Civil War, The settlement began attracting settlers wanting to disassociate from the civil war, maybe you can change this one, but it was quite hard to reword it.

For 12 years only 5 families would inhabit the area, Bussey, Crump, Hammers, Prince, Sparks and Stockman, change that to 6, and the years were between 1880 and 1892

Silas’ economy was primarily sectored. Because it was! If farming and agriculture starts booming in an area and dominates its economy it is a primarily sectored area!

The other school is mentioned in the Shelby school site, which shows us the school dates back to 1915 and it says it was burned in 1948

Feel free to edit the articles if you think they need improvement, but Dr Salvus I recommend you operate as if FA/GA/DYK etc. don't exist. You don't need to worry about those areas. If the reason you're targeting those areas is because you want to be an admin, I think that's a poor idea at this stage of your editing career. StarM 16:33, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
Dr_Salvus please see my note above, it's definitely how I suggest you operate. While I got an alert, I don't use email for Wikipedia purposes so won't be able to read it nor to respond. StarM 13:14, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
  • @Dr Salvus: I dont know anything what happened with Gela article, or you. But to put everything as brief as possible: keep on editing in the areas that are good at, and in the areas that you enjoy. Also, while editing the articles, like StarM said, dont worry about FA/GA/DYK. Simply keep on editing article(s) to improve them. This method automatically leads to GA. Also, ot would give you all-round experience as well. And if you want become an admin, you should be active in other areas as well, not just content creation. Also, like this great philosopher said in this very short, and fun video: never give up. I strongly recommend you watch the video. —usernamekiran (talk) 12:16, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

Dr_Salvus I encourage you to keep these conversations in one place so that you can refer back to them and really, truly read what is said. For example, JohnFromPinckney said: "I strongly, fervently, urgently, adamantly and emphatically (whichever terms translate to Italian most clearly) urge you to confine yourself to reading our articles (presumably about football, or Italy, or Italian football, or sport) and noticing how they are written, looking for and correcting spelling errors, adding or improving references to reliable sources where you can, and, as you go, pay attention to the feedback you get." My friend @Vaselineeeeeeee: sent me some help. I'll be back as soon as I familiarize them. Dr Salvus 19:47, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

I have read the feedbacks and the WP:ANI. I understood that I do not currently have the competence for the GA, FA, FL, DYK, to obtain additional rights ad for counter vandalism. Instead I think I can edit in all the other topics (especially association football). Do you agree with my thinking? Dr Salvus 09:48, 3 April 2021 (UTC) I think the best way to learn the guidelines is by getting it wrong. I often review my mistakes and feedback. I mark my mistakes in the Things not to do. Happy Easter Dr Salvus 18:52, 4 April 2021 (UTC)

Hi and apologies for the delay, I was offline for easter. I'm glad Vaselineeeeeeee has given you some good feedback. I think the only place I'd advise different Dr_Salvus is that when you make mistakes, if you don't understand the feedback, ask for clarification, just don't repeat the same actions. Hi, Star Mississippi! I was going to post this at ANI, but then decided it was well off-topic for that forum: I play this kind of music, to the best of my ability, which isn't that great. In hundreds of gigs, I've had the great good fortune to perform with many outstanding musicians, many of them with long and interesting careers, but nevertheless very few of them notable by our standards (two or three have articles here, no more). I know that our notability requirements are eccentric in the extreme, but I find it hard to believe that winning one minor award in a competition in a not-very-famous school should confer sufficient notability for a page here. I know of course that your mileage/viewpoint may be different from mine, and thank you for the continued good faith and patience you've shown here. Dangelvoice, please know and take note that if you again add to Wikipedia content copied from non-free external web sources, your account is likely to be prevented from making further edits without further warning. Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:20, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for your thoughts, @Justlettersandnumbers: and you may well be completely correct. I think my initial "likely notable" impression came from the fact that there is some sourcing around the award and that The House That Soul Built' might be enough, but I subsequently realized the latter is closer to a blog than a reliable source. If it ended up in mainspace again I have no doubt it would quickly be at AfD, but I'm not sure the draft is ever going to be stable enough to get there. I believed she was editing in good faith but with a poor understanding of policy (fair for a new user) until the IP and edit warring appeared. While my personal life often intersects with the music world, I don't edit many music articles here as musicians can be a challenging subject and I find N:MUSIC somewhat bewildering at times. Thanks again StarM 19:03, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

My distructive changes

Since in the discussion on WP: ANI you criticized my destructive changes, I would like to ask you how can I avoid making destructive changes? Dr Salvus 13:33, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

You have been given a lot of good feedback from editors throughout the thread. If you have specific questions, I'm happy to answer them but on the whole DrSalvus I'd say keep to areas you understand. I don't believe you're ready yet for more nuanced areas such as featured content but you'd be fine as a regular editor, although I'm not sure how familiar you are with notability criteria. StarM 15:29, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

Are there any other actions of mine that worry you besides the GA, FA, FL and WP: GNG? Dr Salvus 22:11, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

Following of what happened, do you think I have the competence for the DYKs? Dr Salvus 16:28, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
I don't work much in that area, so don't have any specific recommendations. I would recommend you observe discussions before submitting your own. StarM 16:42, 26 March 2021 (UTC)

I have to note [2] - a WP:VPP thread started by Dr Salvus that seems ill-advised. User:力 (power~enwiki, π, ν) 03:02, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

I think I have superficially read the instructions. I thought I had the skills and I was wrong. I will stay away from DYK at least until December Dr Salvus 09:57, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
Dr_Salvus, 's point was not about DYK but rather a thread that I am going to close as it will not succeed and I don't want to see you get piled on. Please stop, or you will be back at ANI and/or blocked and it may well be me. StarM 13:55, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

I realized that I have no competence in this regard. I don't feel like getting stuck or going back to WP: ANI. So I'll stop.Have a good day Dr Salvus 14:04, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

I think you're editing in good faith, but you're younger than most editors and editing in your second language, which is commendable. Please just slow down and observe before jumping in to the topics you don't fully understand. As you learn more, you can tackle more complicated areas. It's not that you can't, it's that you can't yet. StarM 14:08, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

In April I made some good changes and also became a reviewer. Do you think I managed to change your mind about your criticisms that you made in March?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Dr Salvus (talkcontribs)

I assume so if you were granted reviewer. I haven't followed your recent edits, but would just say keep following feedback you receive. StarM 16:06, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

Questions

I would like to ask you some questions about the changes I make from wikibreak to today

  1. Do you think I made destructive changes?
  2. Do you think I understood the feedback of other users perfectly?
  3. Do you think I understood my skills?

Dr Salvus 21:24, 16 April 2021 (UTC)

Hi. I don't think you made destructive changes, or more precisely that you meant to. I think you were editing in good faith and trying to improve our content but weren't sure how to. At first, I don't think you followed feedback from other editors, but it seems from looking at your talk page Dr Salvus that you seem to have improved and I see you're asking questions on the Help Desk. I don't think you were trying not to listen, but I'm not sure you always understood all the info provided. Some areas of the encyclopedia are more challenging then others, and there is a steep learning curve. I think you may have overestimated your skills at first but have since learned you need more practice and are slowing down. I still think you're a little too worried about getting tools like rollback, but that may be our age difference showing. Hope this helps. StarM 01:21, 17 April 2021 (UTC)

Thanks so much. However, it is not true that I am obsessed with being a rollbacker because I have read and understood the other users' feedbacks Dr Salvus 06:45, 17 April 2021 (UTC)

I've read the discussion WP: ANI a million times and realized what I was wrong. I think I'll be back soon to apply for a GA or FL. I promise that this time I will be much more responsible and think at least a billion times before applying. But I ask you to be more tolerant because I am a human. I would also like to tell you that I have read your experience as a sysop and I have decided that it is a stupid wish that I can become sysop Dr Salvus 16:23, 20 April 2021 (UTC)

I'm glad you took the time to read Dr_Salvus. I don't think you're ready for GA/FL, but that's your choice to edit there. If you do and get feedback, I just ask you to truly listen to the feedback and ask questions if you don't understand it. That was more of what the issue was last time. StarM 16:44, 20 April 2021 (UTC)

Please, could you make revisions 1019341564 and 1019341902 invisible? The reason is very easy to understand. Dr Salvus 20:07, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

Done, sorry for the delay, I just saw this message. If you want to request oversight, use that link to contact someone who has access. StarM 23:51, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

Done Dr Salvus 11:47, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

Not really, you just asked someone else who gave you the same answer I did, rather than following the link I gave you. You didn't need to go to the Help Desk. This is what I meant about following directions and why I'm not sure you're ready to delve into GA/FL or other more advanced areas. But best of luck. StarM 14:27, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

Really? Are these changes visible to the sysops? Dr Salvus 14:44, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

Yes, which is why I suggested you request oversight and Help Desk told you the same thing. StarM 15:24, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

I requested oversight with email. Dr Salvus 15:36, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

Do you think it might be a good idea to have a mentor who can help me not fail GA, FA, and FL nominations with the WP:FAM? Dr Salvus 07:52, 6 May 2021 (UTC)

Sure, you can ask, but I'm going to be honest. If you don't know that you shouldn't close AfDs (or any discussions) on articles you created, you're probably still not ready for featured content discussions. I really think you're rushing, but it's your choice to do so. StarM 13:54, 6 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello

sock nonsense
The following discussion has been closed. Please do not modify it.

Hello, I noticed that you had removed the deletion tag from the article Kongad Kuttisankaran. It was nominated for deletion at January 14th 2020 for not being notable. Later the notability was established and the deletion tag was removed. But later when User:Kashmorwiki was found out to be a block evaded Sockpuppet the deletion tag was added for another reason. Sir you had removed the tag for the reason as it had been nominated for deletion once and deletion was declined in regard with your edit summary. Shouldn't the article be deleted as it was created by a Sockpuppet who has had a history of disruptive editing. Perthirvin (talk) 12:04, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi. Please don't restore a declined speedy. This article may meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion as a page created (emphasis mine) does not mean it must be deleted. There are edits by other editors, and it doesn't appear clear from the AfD that the editor was editing in bad faith. You're welcome to take it to AfD for discussion Perthirvin. StarM 15:16, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

I am specifying on the article Kongad Kuttisankaran....It has no substantial contributions by other users...please take a look at its edit history.... Thanks for your reply Perthirvin (talk) 15:18, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

I personally disagree that it's a clear-cut speedy, but others may disagree. Feel free to take it to AfD Perthirvin. StarM 15:23, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

With reference to the edit history.... The only edit made by a user other than the Sockpuppet is John B123...other than that there are no other edits made by other users excluding the addition and removal of the deletion tag by various users.... That is what I'm telling that there are no substantial contributions by other editors other than the Sockpuppet (User:Kashmorwiki) in the article.... Kindly go through the edit history....Thanks Perthirvin (talk) 15:24, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

I'll let it stand as I really don't care about the subject matter, but I'm not sure about your note Perthirvin that If not an Admin can decline it. You might want to avoid that comment in the future as it reads like admin shopping. You don't like my (admin) opinion so you're shopping for another one who agrees. Also, I'm not "Sir". StarM 15:39, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Okay thanks for that, I'll take care on that...I'm really sorry if I was being discourteous or rude or if you felt bad... Perthirvin (talk) 15:41, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

I didn't take it as rudeness, don't worry. StarM 15:58, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

You should also look at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Perthirvin. I have something to add here. When a user creates an article, it is not owned by the user. It is a page that the user has submitted to this project. Lets keep aside the fact that Kashmorwiki is a sock. What is the point of deleting some well sourced articles if it satisfies all our notability guidlines. I have some good experience with Kashmorwiki. We have worked together to improve several Indian football related articles. He/She has created more tham 95 articles and only one got deleted before he/she was blocked. From my experience, he/she is a good faith editor. No user has opposed this fact. Deleting a page based on the creator of the page rather than the content of the page is totally against the functioning of an encyclopedia since it results in the removal of legitimate content. In his/her talk page, Kashmorwiki said someone is taking revenge on him and I feel the same now after seeing all this.Poppified talk 17:56, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for this background/link, Poppified. I don't know Kashmorwiki as well as you do as I don't think we've done more than cross paths on the occasional article. The consensus is far from clear on the user's talk, ANI and that's a part of why like you, I don't think it was a clear speedy. It may or may not be deleted, but deserved the discussion it's now receiving. StarM 18:01, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Lets see whats the outcome of this SPI first.HappyEdittingPoppified talk 18:28, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Indeed. I weighed in with some background where I had it. You might want to add a link in one of their Teahouse threads too StarM 18:33, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

Now the SPI is closed, let me tell my findings here. It seems somebody is is a mission to delete articles created by Kashmorwiki due to personal issues. Do you have any idea how to put an end to it. I have now copied the sources of all his remaining articles as a backup.ThanksPoppified talk 18:47, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

It's sadly a game of whack-a-mole Poppified. I think there are enough eyes on the Kashmorwiki situation that people are watching their creations for any malicious nominations. I also put a note in Perth's Teahouse thread so the editors who weighed in there know that Perth's question wasn't in good faith. StarM 18:54, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

This user placed lot of his/her articles under G5 and unfortunately all of them got deleted. Its really unfair to see this taking place targetting a user out of bad faith. Luckily I have the sources with me. Can I recreate these articles. Or do you have any other suggestions? Thanks Poppified talk 18:58, 11 May 2021 (UTC)

(Talk page stalker) Hai Star Mississippi. I am Ken. I'm here to inform you about my concern regarding the future of articles created by Kashmorwiki. The socks of AARYA SAJAYAN are frequently placing CSD tags on the articles created by him. One of them is Bergwalt, who kept CSD tags in many of his articles, and made delete some of the articles under G5 criterion. I agree with the with the fact that the articles created by Kashmorwiki can be deleted under G5 criterion, but I'm against the act of doing the same with well-sourced articles created by him. So far, many of his well-sourced articles have been deleted under the criterion. We are working here preserve the quality of Wikipedia right? Quality articles are always an asset to Wikipedia. I've copied sources of some of the articles created by Kashmorwiki, which was deleted by the frequent tag placement by the sock user. Kerala is an Indian state who loves elephants, and the elephants are a trend among the people of Kerala. Kashmorwiki created articles for many popular and historic elephants in Kerala, which was deleted by admins. So, as I said earlier, I have sources of some of the articles created by Kashmorwiki, which was later deleted. So, is there any offense on me recreating those deleted articles with the sources which was copied by myself? Feel free to make any opinion regarding the issue. Thank you for making use of your valuable time to read this. Ken Tony Shall we discuss? 09:40, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
Hi Ken Tony since you are an established editor, you're welcome to re-write any articles. The issue is the creator, not one of notability as we saw on the first elephant AfD. Part of why I wanted to keep the one I declined the G5 on is because it's going to be a challenge to re-write since I can't read the Malayam sourcing. If any of the others are primarily Malayam-source based,I'd ping other editors so it's not all on you to read and add to the sourcing. Maybe Poppified who also agrees with you that the content is worth preserving? To be clear, English-language sourcing isn't at all required, it's just that the other texts may not be accessible to non-Indian editors who might want to help rescue the ones in danger of deletion. I saw from Wikipedia:Teahouse#Are_these_articles_eligible_for_deletion that all but one were saved. Perhaps you can ask Doug Weller if there's anything from the deleted one that wasn't written by Kashmor that he could restore for you? I'm currently on my phone and can't do restoration of revisions easily or I'd look into it for you. Hope this helps. StarM 13:53, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
I'll take a look - some crazy socking here, this thread was started by a sock, see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/AARYA SAJAYAN/Archive. I've struck through their edits. Doug Weller talk 14:27, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
(Talk page stalker) Star Mississippi Thank you for your feedback. I will follow based up on this. The most saddened scenario was the deletion of the article of Guruvayur Padmanabhan. Its death was covered by some international medias. It was too late for me to copy its source. So I have asked the deleting admin to restore it. Hope this will work. Thank you. Ken Tony Shall we discuss? 14:46, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
(Talk page stalker) I don't think there is an other Malayalam editor who have a good knowledge on elephant topics than Kashmorwiki. This also includes me. His sign itself had an elephant emoji. I will try my best to work on these articles. Thank you. Ken Tony Shall we discuss? 14:53, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
@Ken Tony:[1] [2][3][4] but I'm not sure they are all RS, and the last one is a mystery to me and in any case would need a title and page number. Doug Weller talk 15:10, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

@Doug Weller: This of the article of Chengallur Ranganathan, an elephant, who died in 1917. Regarding the reliability, The Hindu is a reliable source. Mathrubhumi is the second-most leading Malayalam news agency. I'm not sure about the third one. The importance of the subject is that, it is the tallest captive Asian elephant to have ever lived, as per records. I think they are enough to make it pass GNG. @Ken Tony: sounds like it should be. It's the 3rd and 4th sources I wasn't sure about. Doug Weller talk 15:43, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Thanks Ken Tony. Unrelated to this conversation, I own a copy of this book and when I'm back in the same place that it is, happy to also check to see if Chengallur Ranganathan is mentioned as some of the other elephants were. As far as I'm aware, the elephants have all been deleted for sock reasons, none for notability-although a question about that was raised at the Teahouse-so you'd be fine to work on these articles Ken Tony as you noted the sourcing meets our guidelines. I'm really hoping the sock farm trying to knock out Kashmorwiki's creations takes a pause. I do not like this version of whack a mole. StarM 16:42, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Star Mississippi Thank you for the reply buddy. I firmly believe that there should be only friendship among Wikipedians. Spamming was immense on the articles created by Kashmorwiki. I felt like many of them were having grudges whatsoever on Kashmorwiki, and was making use of the current situation to hit back on him. So I felt pity for him, and wanted to help this Wikipedian, as his edits had a good motive. So for a final time, I'm asking once more again. There is no offence in recreate them right? Can I go on to take my next steps? I need a final verdict to go ahead and do something bravely. That's why I'm asking over and over again. Thank you. Hi Ken Tony you're welcome to use the sources Doug IDed as well as any others you're aware of to write the article. Whether you do so in draft or main space is your choice based on your own preferences. StarM 18:49, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Sports in Albania

I dont like the way you deleted my edits in Sports in Albania the mediterranean olympic games was an big success for the Albanian females it isnt fair to pipe the people down who just want to tell about the history of an successfull nation at sports in Albania. Xonilatifi25 (talk) 15:06, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi Xonilatifi25. You're welcome to re-add the information using reliable sources, which you did not to do when you added the information back, which is whyI removed it. Wikipedia is not a reliable source, nor was the webpage you linked. It is of no relevance whether JohnFromPinckney or I are Albanian or not. StarM 15:10, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

But then also then prove me wrong because i did back now back my sources up. It isnt fair to not accept my opinion but i understand your point and i want to say sorry i overreacted in my opinion. Xonilatifi25 (talk) 15:29, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Can you clarify how https://www-old.cev.eu/Competition-Area/History.aspx?ID=1263 is aXonilatifi25 reliable source? It does not appear to be one to me. Wikipedia does not accept anyone's opinion, which is why sourcing is required, Xonilatifi25 StarM 15:34, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Can you then deny ? That the Albanian women's didn't qualify for the Womens CEV Cup i did put also a anouther reliable source out were it is written, that the womens of Dinamo Tirana achieved those feets. Wikipedia isnt for everyone but for the ones who know the Sporting History of an successful sporting nation in Albania, and thats not you of course not. Xonilatifi25 (talk) 15:38, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

The onus is on the person who adds the information to verify it according to reliable sources. You have not done that as this also does not appear to be a reliable source. As such, I have reverted your edits. Please do not add the information back without using reliable sources as that would be considered an edit war, and you may be blocked. StarM 15:42, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

I can't understand why you have so much hate towards an nation instead off helping me you just remove the success an Nation have at sports. But i dont care about your comments you hate Albania thats why you removed it i posted an link were the official CEV Page put an link off the Tournemant in 1990/91 they did qualify and also won the Mediterran Games at Volleyball in 1987 !! Xonilatifi25 (talk) 16:00, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Xonilatifi25, you will find you have much greater success on Wikipedia if you learn and follow the rules here, one of which is to assume good faith. Accusing Star Mississippi of having "so much hate towards an nation" is completely inappropriate. Please see also WP:NPA. StarM's changes, like mine, have absolutely nothing to do with love or hatred of Albania or any other nation; we're just trying to protect Wikipedia articles from randon, unverifiable additions. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 17:13, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Then tell me why do you keep removing my posts even with an reliable source that dosent make sense the Albanian womens did won off the biggest Olympic competition gold in the Medirerrean games in 1987 so you should also account a bit and not just remove things. Xonilatifi25 (talk) 18:53, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Xonilatifi25 as JohnFromPinckney and I have mentioned, the onus is on you to prove the information you're adding by using reliable sources. If you're going to be a successful wikipedia editor, I really recommend reading up on reliable sources. StarM 18:57, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

JohnFromPinckney i want to say sorry for my behavior you are right at the end people can talk all the time, so i need to also put evidence on the things i post in Wikipedia so that everybody can understand that , i really like to say thank you because it also helps me to be an much better autor ✍🏻 and content creator in Wikipedia. You are absolutely right. And i like the discussion with you because at the end we all want a better Wikipedia aswell. But dont get me wrong their is still to less information on Sports in Albania. Especially Basketball and in Football we should post more information but i will do it to by posting realiable sourches in their. Xonilatifi25 (talk) 07:55, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

That's great, Xonilatifi25 as that's the best way to improve content in any subject area. StarM 13:09, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

The Albanian under 21 Qualified can i not even mentioned sorry but now you kinda wind me up serbs posting things they didnt won as country but with yugoslavia and you still gonna dont believe me, Albania did qualify once in their Under 21 History.... Xonilatifi25 (talk) 08:24, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

If you use reliable sources, it doesn't matter whether I or anyone else believe you, Xonilatifi25. The sources will make it clear. StarM 13:18, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi, StarM. First, thanks, and second, I hadn't even thought of DS (just what a time-sink some efforts are). But having seen the recent notice, I'm wondering: how's a person supposed to know when DS might apply, if nobody places a notice (and the talk pages of the affected articles [heh, broadly construed] aren't explicitly tagged)? I've just had a quickish scan through the pages linked in the formal notice, and only at the bottom of WP:ACDS do I finally find what I was looking for: WP:DSTOPICS. Do you think this should maybe be included in the notice? (Or is it, and I haven't found it?) Best, — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 16:43, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi JohnFromPinckney. DS alerts are a new-ish area to me as well. I generally only consider it when it seems the editor is going to be an issue and we'll need to prove awareness if problematic editing persists. I may well be wrong, but hearing the word "truth" from a new user especially combined with his jumping to accuse both of us of racism when we were just asking for sources is red flag territory. It took me forever to find the correct template, so wholly agree it could be better surfaced. Perhaps at Wikipedia_talk:General_sanctions? StarM 18:24, 21 May 2021 (UTC)

Sport in Albania

I think their is important room to improve the Sports in Albania , since in my Opinion do not have many editions added. Balkan Basketball Championships needed to be added. I was reacting really hard i agree but you also did an mistake by deleting many off my comments i did. Albania have an amazing theirfor should be more known to it. And why can i not mention so many sport departing topics their to?

We need a topic for Albania at the Mediterranean games since we won in many important sport disciplines like Basketball, Volleyball with our womens too. I dont wanna get blocked so i just appell for also agreeing with me i never would just put them randomly here they are our history too. Xonilatifi25 (talk) 00:55, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

I didn't delete any of your comments, but rather unsourced information. You refuse to learn or listen, and I have no interest in further discussion with you if you're going to continue to repeat the same edits. The place to discuss improvements is the article's talk page. And please heed the warnings on your own Xonilatifi25 StarM 17:53, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

Instead of helping me you showed what you wanna tell but i will write my own text with sources towards the Albanian National Team and many other Sporting topics , i dont wanna discuss with you since you only delete and even with facts you delete them , you showed your caracter i will be on wikipedia forever no worries i can have my say as i deserve too.. I refused to learn hahahah thats a good joke by itself i can say that to you!! Who cant accept facts and try to make a sporting page small!! Xonilatifi25 (talk) 23:26, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

Feel free, I'm not watching the page and have no interest in your edits. But if you don't learn to use reliable sources, other editors will remove the content as well. Happy editing. StarM 01:00, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
