Trektastic

[edit]

Nice job fixing up the trek articles!! Live long and prosper, Qapla'! Starspotter (talk) 19:09, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. One more episode and I'll be done with season 2. I wish there was more stuff on the production of each episode. I bought at auction a few years ago some production memos from Bob Justman to Gene Roddenberry about "The Enemy Within" and they are a fantastic read, I am sure notes and memos were probably sent for all the episodes if only we had access to them all electronically.@Starspotter: StarHOG (Talk) 20:06, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Broken ref

[edit]

FYI, the ref you broke with this edit wasn't the YouTube clip, but rather the Encyclopedia reference used elsewhere in the article. Fortunately, a few hours later a bot came by and corrected the error. --EEMIV (talk) 00:05, 7 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Empath

[edit]

Hi, I'm pleased you like my additions to The Empath page. All the info I added comes from the same chapter in the book (These Are The Voyages TOS: Season Three), although I felt it might be confusing and unnecessary to include specific page numbers. Yes, I tried to simplify and use my own words, rather than just lift them directly from the book. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jakeywa (talkcontribs) 18:09, 27 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit revert for The Man Trap

[edit]

" ... it first aired on September 8, 1966" is literally incorrect, and the addition I made to indicate that September 8, 1966 was its first airing in the US was not redundant, despite the earlier mention of Star Trek being an American show. The knowledge that it is an American show does not automatically impart knowledge that the show actually first aired in Canada two days before, which isn't mentioned until two paragraphs later. Discussions about an article's content should be held on that article's talk page. Let's move it there, please. StarHOG (Talk) 16:15, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Easy there, I'm the one trying to make your watered-down statements into something neutral. Yes, I used pro-choice and I recognize that was an error, but your warning is bullying and frowned upon by Wikipedia. StarHOG (Talk) 15:54, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Correction to Paradise Syndrome

[edit]

Hello, StarHOG-

I have obtained copies of the Paramount Television Daily Production Reports from the UCLA library special collections (Roddenberry collection) for Star Trek production no. 60043-58 (originally titled “The Paleface” when filmed but changed a month later to “The Paradise Syndrome.” These reports state that this episode was filmed either on the Gower stages (June 11, 17, 18, 1968) or at Upper Franklin Canyon (June 12-14, 1968). It was not filmed at the Hollywood reservoir. I’ll be making a correction to the Wikipedia production section to this effect as the issue is now definitively settled.

Best,

— Jim — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jfanson (talkcontribs) 23:26, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm moving this discussion to the episode's Talk page in hopes other editors may have some references that can help resolve this. StarHOG (Talk) 14:50, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Talk: Addiction - Your point is well-taken.

[edit]

Here is what I wrote on Talk:Addiction:

Note: I moved my response to StarHOG's reply to this RfC because I think they (StarHOG) has a good point about the purpose of an RfC (see below, "I came to this page as a result of an RfC ..."). My intention is to keep their (StarHOG's) RfC reply "pure" so to speak and move the debate, which they did not seek, down here.

Are you okay with my edit (diff) wherein I moved the "debate" text down to General Discussion? - Mark D Worthen PsyD (talk) [he/him] 02:44, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mudd

[edit]

Where did you get the information that "Mudd's Women" is the sixth episode of Star Trek? It is the seventh episode on Netflix, so if you are right then Netflix has for some reason inserted something else into the sequence, perhaps a later episode which they have decided to move, which seems very odd. JBW (talk) 11:49, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It has now occurred to me that Netflix may have included a pilot episode. I'll check when I get a chance. JBW (talk) 12:06, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I have now confirmed that Netflix counted a pilot as episode one, and then the subsequent episodes were all pushed back by one. Not a helpful way to do it, in my opinion. JBW (talk) 19:54, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Netflix isn't responsible for documenting which episodes were aired first or being helpful in this regard. That's not their job. I'm glad you figured this out on your own and that you did some fact finding and research about it. A lot of people come onto wikipedia and change the episode numbers because of Netflix! Thanks for working it out and understanding. Some people aren't as inquisitive as you are! And please don't let this dissuade you from making edits on Star Trek articles that you find fault with. I get things wrong all the time. StarHOG (Talk) 22:36, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, of course they aren't "responsible" for documenting which episodes were aired first, but I still think it would be less likely to cause confusion if what they called, for example, "episode 1" were what everybody else calls "episode 1". They could give the pilot some other name than "episode 1", such as, perhaps, "pilot episode". JBW (talk) 20:52, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

...and perhaps the most important point of all is thank you for correcting my mistake. JBW (talk) 20:54, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
