Asa

[edit]

Hi Mahveotm,
I'm sorry for leaving this note on your talk page. Please delete it if you do not want it on your talk page afterwards. I got the thank you notification you left me. I'm just curious, are you a fan of Asa? If so, would you like to work on creating articles about her first two albums. I can create an article about her eponymous debut album and you can create an article about the Beautiful Imperfection album. I would like to bring the Asa article to GA status; I am going to expand the Bed of Stone article and will nominate the Lucid article for GA; I'm sure it will pass in no time.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 01:45, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for Creation: List of reviewers by subject notice

[edit]

Hi Stormy Chamber, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer.

Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer.

To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process!

Sent to all Articles for Creation reviewers as a one-time notice. To opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page. Regards, Sam-2727 (talk)

The D'banj content is not defamatory. He has even deleted any references to that on his public pages. Thanks.York4044 (talk) 05:50, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@York4044, you better quit with the POV pushing. The only plausible step at this juncture is to seek consensus at the talk page of the article if or not that information should be included at this time seeing as the so called survivor has categorically tweeted & downplayed/debunked all this hoax bs & conspiracy theories. Until a consensus is reached I’d request you quit with the edit warring else I’d have to take you to the WP:ANI for your WP:NOTHERE behavior. Celestina007 (talk) 06:44, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There is no POV pushing. The person in question has released a statement. I will edit the language to person and not survivor but everything else is accurate. That's why "allegations" were used. York4044 (talk) 23:53, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

PERSONAL APPEAL TO JOIN AFROCINE 2020

[edit]

Hello Stormy Chamber, I must admit - your new username needs some getting used to. That being said, I want to personally appeal to you to participate in the months of African Cinema starting in October. One article from you will go a long way in bridging the knowledge gap. May I suggest that you consider Redemption, a Mozambican film that won multiple awards at AMAA 2019? You may also create on a subject you are more comfortable with. Thank you so much for always being a much needed support system when things look down in our wiki journey. I am expecting your inputs at AfroCine 2020 :) HandsomeBoy (talk) 15:22, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @HandsomeBoy:, sure, would be happy to help out! You do owe me a drink anytime you're in Lagos.

Why was this draft accepted?

[edit]

Hi Stormy Chamber, I can see you were the reviewing editor that accepted this article: Draft:Federal Government College, Kaduna to mainspace. I have moved this back to draftspace as it is not ready. My reasoning can be seen on the article creators talk page. Any ideas? Maybe you made a mistake here? Just so you can see the difference, here is another article by the same editor which has been declined and this has more content than the one you accepted. Steven (Editor) (talk) 18:06, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What's more concerning is if you look at the edit history of Federal Government College, Kaduna, you will see that the editor had only made two edits after I moved it to draftspace — the first was a straight submit for review and the second was to add the Federal Government Colleges Of Nigeria template, then you accepted it. Discussion about your closing of Djibouti City

[edit]

Hello, about the discussion in Talk:Djibouti (city) from 3 years ago, the original nominator that requested a move, opened it a few hours after the closing of another closing discussion despite people saying that it should be snowed and speedy closed. And their user contributions show that he was only requesting changes to capital cities, in which most of their proposals failed due to no clear community consensus like in Talk:Luxembourg City. Please let us discuss about the closing of the discussion from 3 years ago since I think that it was hastily opened and closed. PyroFloe (talk) 02:33, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @PyroFloe:, I no longer get involved with RMs.
Regards, Stormy Chamber (talk) 08:54, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. Since I am starting a move review for the said page, this is just a notification to you as you are the one that closed the said RM discussion. Best regards, PyroFloe (talk) 10:38, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Welcoming New Volunteers

[edit]

Note that the dates observed in bold under the underlined title of message help reflect and clarify the most current & oldest messages with the most current being at the top and the oldest being at the bottom.

Welcoming New Volunteers
(25/06/2021)

We hereby want to officially welcome new volunteers who have recently joined the collaborative project and have volunteered to work in WP:NIGERIA. The arrival of new volunteers is often associated with the confusion of “what to do” on their part, it is then behoove of us to treat them with care, guide them, and protect them from the general pitfalls a new editor would most usually fall into. We are also admonished to clean up after them if they err and encourage them, most especially when they are genuine editors with potential to do good work not just for us, but for the community as a whole. Once more, we hereby thank all new editors who have volunteered to work here and hope they enjoy their stay here.

Requests for uncreated articles
(24/1/2020)
Greetings & a great weekend to you all. It would be great if the (Requests for uncreated articles) section in our wiki project can be attended to & at least one article be created this weekend as some requests have been pending since 2016. I believe this would be pivotal to the encyclopedia as a whole & a means to get editors who have gone inactive to revive their Wikipedia activities.

WP:AFC Helper News

[edit]

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Cheers, Primefac, via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 16:00, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
