Eriberto Arroyo Mío date of death

Just wanted to point you to discrepancy I noticed at the DYK for Eriberto Arroyo Mío- the text lists one date of death, while the cited source lists a slightly different date. --HectorMoffet (talk) 09:00, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

WikiCup 2014 January newsletter

The 2014 WikiCup is off to a flying start, with, at time of writing, 138 participants. The is the largest number of participants we have seen since 2010. If you are yet to join the competition, don't worry- the judges have agreed to keep the signups open for a few more days. By a wide margin, our current leader is newcomer Smithsonian Institution Godot13 (submissions), whose set of 14 featured pictures, the first FPs of the competition, was worth 490 points. Here are some more noteworthy scorers:

Featured articles, featured lists, featured topics and featured portals are yet to play a part in the competition. The judges have removed a number of submissions which were deemed ineligible. Typically, we aim to see work on a project, followed by a nomination, followed by promotion, this year. We apologise for any disappointment caused by our strict enforcement this year; we're aiming to keep the competition as fair as possible.

Wikipedians interested in friendly competition may be interested to take part in The Core Contest; unlike the WikiCup, The Core Contest is not about audited content, but, like the WikiCup, it is about article improvement; specifically, The Core Contest is about contribution to some of Wikipedia's most important article. Of course, any work done for The Core Contest, if it leads to a DYK, GA or FA, can earn WikiCup points.

If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to help keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. The article National Association for Struggle against Communism has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable organization. Much of the information can't be WP:V.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Javier Silva Ruete, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page APRA (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages

Thank you for your recent articles, including Javier Silva Ruete, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. This can help you too, as the WikiProject members will often defend your work from deletion and try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information. Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Khan Shakir Ali Khan may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • ] with India. After Independence he served four tenures as state legislator, representing the [[Communist Party of India.

Khan Shakir Ali Khan

The article has been promoted, and is in a DYK batch that will hit the main page in a few hours. You need to explain what "naik" and "ryotwarri moharrir" are in plain English. Best if you use an English equivalent term. Regards, -- Ohc ¡digame! 14:29, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

Naik was a British colonial term, so in fact it is in English. I'm working on the moharrir part. --Soman (talk) 15:24, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

A cup of coffee for you!

Hi Soman, Thanks for the edit. Can you suggest me how I can avoid a redirect and edit internal links in the article by editing it to be the present version as "Nagbhushan Patnaik" so that it can be accessed directly in the article name "Nagbhushan Patnaik".Hpsatapathy (talk) 01:41, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
