Hi Sodabottle, could you please intervene in this article. Raji ect is constantly adding unencycolpedic content. I have reverted his edits several times, but he continues to reinstate them. Thanks, —Abhishek Talk to me 04:37, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
Hi Sodabottle, If someoone repeatedly deletes for the wrong reasons and liberally misuses the terms 'unencyclopaedic' 'vandalism' etc. I believe that I am right in reinstating. Relevant citations on Helix and BMTC should not be deleted under the wrong pretext of vandalism. I have no desire to prolong this conversation. We can only educate the ignorant. If knowingly someone wants to delete constructive changes, these communications will not be of any use. Raji ect (talk) 05:55, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up
Only you turned up at J&K map [1] irregularity, others who have india in their watchlist turned a blind eye due to political reasons. I just want to be objective here than being blindly patriotic. Your suggestion of changing color of Himachal pradesh is not accepted as 4 colours are voted against in all locator maps uniformly. If you revert that image file once we can stop that lone opposing editor using wp:3r, he is author of that image but i regret his decision not to budge to reality. This one was deleted last November[2] as principle filming had not been confirmed, and it was pretty much too soon for a shelved film. When the article was recreated and sent to AFD,[3] I was able to source that it had indeed come off the shelf and that filming had begun August 2010... and as of last January it had completed its New York shots. Happily, the nominator withdrew. Could you look in and see what you might be able to do to further improve and source the article? Thanks much, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 01:36, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
Clarification on Image usage
Hi Sodabottle. I just want to clarify that can we use images available in tamil wiki articles or other languages wiki articles "Images" used on English wiki articles. Example: Vijay(actor) in tamil wiki to English. Ungal Vettu Pillai (talk) 08:52, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- Images can't be used across wikis, unless they are in Commons. If they are properly licensed move them to commons. For example, the vijay photo seems to have a valid license proven by a OTRS ticket. For such images upload the picture commons with the same description and with the same licensing info adn the name of the original uploader. --Sodabottle (talk) 08:58, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- Many thanks, Sodabottle. Ungal Vettu Pillai (talk) 09:01, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
Mentoring students: be sure to check in on them
This message is going out to all of the Online Ambassadors who are, or will be, serving as mentors this term.
Hi there! This is just a friendly reminder to check in on what your mentees are doing. If they've started making edits, take a look and help them out or do some example fixes for them, if they need it. And if they are doing good, let them know it!
If you aren't mentoring anyone yet, it looks like you will be soon; at least one large class is asking us to assign mentors for them, and students in a number of others haven't yet gotten to asking ambassadors to be their mentors, but may soon. --Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 20:08, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
groups of students in need of mentors
Hey Sodabottle. One of the classes working with the Wikipedia Ambassador Program, Jonathan Obar's Media and Telecommunication Policy, is working in small groups and would like us to assign a mentor to each group (rather than having students request the mentors they'd like, as other classes are doing).
I invite you to sign on as the mentor for one or more groups, especially if any of the topics catch your interest. To sign up, go to the course page and add yourself as "Mentor: you" in the section for that group. They students and/or professor or campus ambassadors should be cleaning things up soon to list all the usernames for each group and add a few more groups. Once you know who the students are in the group, you can leave them each a quick introduction to let them know you'll be mentoring their group.
Thanks!--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 19:08, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
Infobox clarification on leaders of politics.
Hi Sodabottle. Just want to know can we construct infobox update in MGR, Karunanidhi articles to include their political office details as Chief Minister and other various position they held in the political arena. See for Ex: Anna, Rajaji etc., Also can we do this on ALL related other articles of leaders of Tamil Nadu. ---- Ungal Vettu Pillai (talk) 08:24, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yes we can, use Kamaraj, Anna and Rajaji as samples, officeheld should ideally be descending in time (last office held first)--Sodabottle (talk) 08:28, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

help
I removed a large body of incoherent text from Kongu Vellalar article, some of which i believe could be legitimate content. I am trying to sort through the mess and decide what can go back into the article and realize i really dont know much about the subject. any help will be appreciated. --CarTick (talk) 18:11, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- sorry. I have to pass on this. I have strong POV about the subject (basically any caste) and find it hard to maintain objectivity. Will probably make matters worse if i wade in (I have a thin skin - if i get one tenth of the abuse you endure in Nadar/Nair articles, i am afraid i would do something stupid and get indef blocked :-))--Sodabottle (talk) 19:17, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- fair enough. thin skinned isnt helpful. just kidding. :) may be just this benign question. The Gounders as we know it in movies (e.g. Chinna Gounder), are they all just Kongu Vellalars? --CarTick (talk) 19:26, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yes and specifically those in the western districts (cbe, tirupur, salem, namakkal, erode). This is where they are numerically and socially dominant. There are a fair number of kongu vellalars in some southern districts, but they are a minority and you won't find chinna gounders there :-)--Sodabottle (talk) 19:31, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

About Vijayanagar rule in Tamil Nadu

- Please prod them if they are departmental functions and dont if they are college wide events. The afd poster is comparing college wide tech fests with depearment symposiums. Sarang, Pragyan etc are all college wide tech fests, who get better coverage and publicity than single department functions like chemfluence. --Sodabottle (talk) 03:13, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

- Its a combination of things overloading the victim's body - a sort sof system shock. For the old and infirm, when they have already reached the "no solid food" stage, the oil bath (usually done in the early hours) lowers the body temperature, slows down metabolism and heart rate. The kidneys are already overloaded, so now they pump liquids (i have heard of milk being used too) to induce renal failure. 90000 Tamil words donated to Tamil wikipedia
Are you aware how the above worked out?Yogesh Khandke (talk) 16:42, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
- It was for the Tamil wiktionary. It was a straight forward donation - there was an existing dictionary, we asked it to be released to PD and they agreed. They handed over a CD with the content, it was uploaded with a bot. Is there anything specific you want to know about this?--Sodabottle (talk) 16:48, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
- I am trying to do the same thing for Marathi, would you share the correspondence with a Marathi/English translation?Yogesh Khandke (talk) 17:07, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
- I dont think there was a formal correspondence/appeal for this particular donation. It was more like some Ta. wikipedians knew people in the Govt/ university and put out feelers. And when we we approached the TN Govt for a Wikipedia essay contest as part of the World Classical Tamil Conference 2010, they said ok for this too. But i have done the same process again formally for getting a similar donation from the Norwegian education ministry for the words in their Norsk-Tamil dictionary. It was done through email and they are still considering the request. I will forward my correspondence with the Norge educational ministry. --Sodabottle (talk) 17:23, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

- In this case it was the university that was the copyright holder and not the govt. Thus no GO reqd. It is a decision taken by the university. And no they did not "transfer the copyright" - they let us reprint the information with CC SA 3.0 and GFDL wiktionary uses. I dont have the official correspondence - it happened offline mostly and i wasnt involved in the effort.--Sodabottle (talk) 17:48, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

AAI Data
I agree with you. Can Reinstate time period, if major changes occurs whenever AAI data out. But my question is past 3yrs data remains same. No major changes. Thats why.
--Bijuts (talk) 10:01, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
The following datapoints are available:
Data from April 2006 to March 2008 : http://www.aai.aero/traffic_news/mar2k8annex3.pdf Data from April 2007 to March 2009 : http://www.aai.aero/traffic_news/mar2k9annex3.pdf Data from April 2009 to October 2009 : http://www.aai.aero/traffic_news/oct2k9annex3.pdf Data from April 2010 to December 2010 : http://www.aai.aero/traffic_news/dec2k10annex3.pdf
You can see that data for Nov 2009 to March 2010, ie of five months is missing, out of 58 months total period . You can see that throughout the available data. That is good enough reference for the ranking, without the qualifier of time period. I suggest to remove the time period qualifier from the ranking (Or insert the precise period qualifier)
--Bijuts (talk) 10:07, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- IMO it doesn't matter the ranking has stayed stable over the past three years - people are still doing the wrong time period comparison and arriving at wrong conclusions (especially when they want to project their favourite airports ahead of others). So my opinion is let the time period stay, but i am not averse to mentioning a longer time period - but do that uniformly across all articles)--Sodabottle (talk) 10:14, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Marking articles students are working on
Howdy, Online Ambassador!
This is a quick message to all the ambassadors about marking and tracking which articles students are working on. For the classes working with the ambassador program, please look over any articles being worked on by students (in particular, any ones you are mentoring, but others who don't have mentors as well) and do these things:
- Add {{WAP assignment | term = Spring 2011 }} to the articles' talk pages. (The other parameters of the {{WAP assignment}} template are helpful, so please add them as well, but the term = Spring 2011 one is most important.)
- If the article is related to United States public policy, make sure the article the WikiProject banner is on the talk page: {{WikiProject United States Public Policy}}
- Add Category:Article Feedback Pilot (a hidden category) to the article itself. The second phase of the Article Feedback Tool project has started, and this time we're trying to include all of the articles students are working on. Please test out the Article Feedback Tool, as well. The new version just deployed, so any bug reports or feedback will be appreciated by the tech team working on it.
And of course, don't forget to check in on the students, give them constructive feedback, praise them for positive contributions, award them {{The WikiPen}} if they are doing excellent work, and so on. And if you haven't done so, make sure any students you are mentoring are listed on your mentor profile.
Thanks! --Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 18:14, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Professor Obar Concerns
Got a message about an hour ago from Professor Obar of the Media and Telecommunication Policy project and I think it is viewed best in full:
Can you please communicate to the online mentors that I DO NOT want them moving student material into the main space for them. This is a big problem. I have noticed that this has happened with a number of the projects already, for example, in the broadband.gov article and the media cross-ownership article. We need the students to be doing this on their own, of course so they can learn how to do it, and also so that I can grade what they've done. How am I supposed to follow student submissions if the data is associated with online mentors? A BIG PROBLEM ALREADY... please help me with this. None of you responded to my post about this on the discussion page. This is about to get out of hand. Jaobar (talk) 05:27, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
With that, of course, please only give instructions on how to move, don't do it for them. Please only let them know what to do and let them do it themselves. If they run into problems, provide further instructions. Do not it for them. This seems to be making a mess of Prof. Obar's grading system and I would like to avoid that. Hello,
My name is Nira Pandya and I am a student at Syracuse University, New York. I am currently editing articles for a class that I am enrolled in and I found that it would be very helpful if I can pick you as a mentor. I came for a study abroad program to India for 6 months last year and I was an intern for an NGO, ActionAid, and hope to edit the ActionAid article. ActionAid has a lot of presence in India in the NGO sector and I have found some scholarly articles that I can use to reference my work - I will also be giving examples of ActionAid India more specifically. Thank you and please let me know if you'd be able to help with any questions I may have or review my work as I am a new Wikipedian. Thank you!

Airport Rankings
Hi Sodabottle, per your suggestion, DileepKS69 and Bijuts have increased the time period. I in a way do not agree with changing the time period because, only since the opening of T3, Delhi airport has become the busiest in the country (this happened around Oct 2010 and the period we mentioned earlier, ie, Apr-Nov 2010 includes this). Previously, DEL was second only to BOM. So we have to regularise the time period in all airports and rank them within that period. What say? —Abhishek Talk to me 04:05, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- hmm. This is tricky. I would suggest, regularise the time period for all airports, but in case of delhi and bombay - where rankings have changed recently, mention both timeperiods and positions (i know its messy, but its better to include both)--Sodabottle (talk) 04:26, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
I suggest to keep the word "For the period of Apr–Nov 2010, it was the" only to DEL and BOM airports. --Bijuts (talk) 07:02, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) I think the recent rankings have to be included, as its exclusion will mean that a wrong image is being sent out. The timeperiods, should be mentioned properly. Yes Michael? •Talk 07:44, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- I disagree with Bijuts. We have to mention the same time periods for all the airports. COK may be an exception as its ranking hasn't changed over the last four years. But it's best to regularise the time period for all the airports. —Abhishek Talk to me 18:14, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Addition of non-English titles to article
Is this title addition in Punjabi alright? Thanks, —Abhishek Talk to me 11:10, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- native script addition is done under two conditions - for transliteration purposes in the official language of the area, and if a substantial number of people in the area speak that language. Is punjabi a major language in Delhi?. if so, the addition is fine, if not it should be removed.--Sodabottle (talk) 13:07, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
- I do not know if Punjabi is a major language there. —Abhishek Talk to me 15:41, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Hi
Okay, I will keep this in mind and usually from now onwards will either enter everything within quotes or change the language/words. Moreover, the point that I stated was what I believed was a universal fact and general public-opinion as mentioned everywhere in media and, thus, I didn't mention any reference/source specifically but if you insist I will try to do so from now on. Thanks for bringing these points to my attention. Regards--Bugnot (talk) 05:08, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
The Srirangapatna Page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seringapatam Hi, I've added a bullet to the "In Literature" section of this page. However, I'm not sure how to source it (I've been through the various Wiki help pages, but can't find an answer there). The editor is not sure whether I can reference "The Project Gutenberg EBook" for my source. So my question is, first, can I? If I cannot, should I give the reference to the original edition in 1868 or arbitrarily to a modern edition, e.g., Penguin classics? Thanks. Joan.salkin (talk) 14:11, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
Image on ta.wiki
[5] is likely a copyvio. I couldn't find the cc-by release on kollywoodtoday and only a standard copyright notice. Maybe more, these images are now being transferred to en.wiki/Commons so I noticed. cheers —SpacemanSpiff 20:46, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
- I believe some years back, ta wiki admin Terrance obtained permission from kollywood today through email for a CC release. There is an OTRS ticket mentioned in the ta wiki image [6]. Can you check this ticket and see if this is valid? (or point me to someone with OTRS access and i will go and ask them)--Sodabottle (talk) 20:49, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
- Nevermind, i found one indic otrs volunteer familiar with this - sreejith. i will ask him to verify the ticket.--Sodabottle (talk) 20:51, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not an OTRS volunteer so I can't see that, but unless there's a ticket no, it can't really be taken as verified -- I've run into this problem with so many actor/actress images here and on commons over the past year. In this case I saw that the uploader added the OTRS tag on ta.wiki, but nothing to verify it. If there is an OTRS ticket for kollywood today then it should state which images are covered (kinda like what the IndiaFM/Bollywood Hungama release is like) since many of the images on Kollywoodtoday aren't theirs to give. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 20:57, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
- Nevermind, i found one indic otrs volunteer familiar with this - sreejith. i will ask him to verify the ticket.--Sodabottle (talk) 20:51, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
- There is a ticket no and Terrance is usually very knowledgeable/conscientious about our copyright practices. He is currently on a long wikibreak so cant ask him directly. I have asked Sreejith to verify the ticket and see what exactly it covers.--Sodabottle (talk) 21:03, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
- Where's the ticket no? The reason I came to you was because I couldn't find one on the tag and I still can't seem to find it...if there's a ticket no, I wouldn't have had any cause for concern.... :( —SpacemanSpiff 21:09, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
- 1139159. It isnt mentioned in the tag, but the url to the ticket is mentioned, i got it from there.--Sodabottle (talk) 21:11, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, now I see it, thanks. I've cancelled the deletion requests for the derivative images as it has an OTRS ticket. But maybe you should modify the ta.wiki tags to expose the tickets like we have on en.wiki/Commons, I only looked at the OTRS link which took you to meta :) cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 21:17, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
- Done. i have modified the relevant template to show the ticket ID explicitly.--Sodabottle (talk) 21:23, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

The OTRS ticket is valid. I just verified it now and modified the image page accordingly. --Sreejith K (talk) 17:56, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I stumbled upon some suitable images on picassa for Nayanars but did not upload them as I could not figure who they were. Please read the Tamil and let me know who (write their names l->r here on your talk) they are so I can upload them on commons. If you want, you can go ahead with uploading on commons, else I will do it. There may be repetitions in the photos. Pardon me for that.

Tamil people article.
Hi Sodabottle. Just one reminder in 'Tamil people' articles. Why is there Annadurai image missing at infobox, where his name is listed below. I do not know what is the problem on this, but if allowed I can produce a 140x190 image of Annadurai & post it over there. Please give your suggestion on this. Thanks.!!!! ---- Ungal Vettu Pillai (talk) 03:49, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
- It seems the image that was there was deleted from commons. Yeah go ahead, take an existing properly licenced one of Anna from commons and crop it and add it.--Sodabottle (talk) 06:25, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Sodabottle. I recently came across this site. I want to include some very significant images on to english wiki Annadurai article as per the importance under fair-use policy. I would like to list out the one which I want to be included are as follows, not all only 5-6, which are significant some color & some black&white. I feel it is fair from our point to use these on the significance of importance to cover. And importantly nothing to hide here as we have a clear source available. Like to hear your suggestions also because I dont want to face problems later. Thanks!!!

Wiki-novice help?

Kindly discuss before indulging in accusations. Your edits on Christian topics at times, not only corrupt the facts, but also add an element of amateurish and negative colour to them. An editor without any constructive contribution on a particular page should first update his/her data-bank. Could you please point-out where my earlier edits on the above subject lost neutrality? Please ensure that the Indian Christian articles on Wikipedia are edited unbiased, but in a free and fair manner, without any fear or favor, just like Hindu, Islamic, Buddhist, Sikh articles. So no more threats in future, O.K.! Your criticism, always welcome!--Kumaripriya (talk) 14:00, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- calling someone "preacher non-nonpareil" is blantant pov pushing. You have been warned multiple times by multiple editors before not to add such language to Wikipedia articles before. have you forgotten when you tried to add stuff about "infidels" to Christianity in Tamil Nadu article?. If you think i am threatening you, then its your problem. Keep violating wikipedia policies and you will find yourself blocked from wikipedia.--Sodabottle (talk) 15:29, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- Oh make an allusion that i am any fanatic of any sort, i will report you to the administrators. You have done his before and consider this your final warning.--Sodabottle (talk) 15:32, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- Pardon me for intruding! Just want to ask. I had this doubt for quite a long time. I find extensive usage of the term "martyr" in the context of articles related to Christian saints (Devasahayam Pillai, for example). Is it the right term to use? Isn't "martyr" a term used in praise of someone or some cause and therefore, POV?-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 16:52, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- It is christian POV. IMO as long as we blue link Christian Martyr, we are only presenting it as christian POV. --Sodabottle (talk) 17:21, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

K Kamaraj
Hi Sodabottle. I beleive true facts at times are seen as puffery and dealt wrong. Karmaverar Kamarajar in tamil title was the right way to credit him on top of his image. If it is not allowed there, please atleast make efforts or allow to include it on the lead paras, which is a true fact and a must to be included there. Experienced users like you please do give more values on these issues. Its sometimes feel very sad when people like you also (from the same land) stand opposing knowing all the values behind. ---- Ungal Vettu Pillai (talk) 11:52, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- Calm down and dont make this personal (dont you think it is strange for me as someone who left all my "tamil" values behind, to be contributing to tamil subjects here and in ta wiki?) The fact is "karmaveerar" is not his name - it is a honorific title given to him posthumously. I have no objection to mentioning "karmaveerar" as one of his honorifics inside the article, preferably in the legacy section. Dont put it in the infobox as part of his name- it is against our honorifics/title policy. The puffery part comes where people try to make it as if it is his actual name. Inside the article mention it clearly as a honorific given to him. Treat it in the same way "puratchi thalaivar" or "amma" or "kalaignar" is treated in the MGR/JJ/MK articles. --Sodabottle (talk) 12:06, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- Sodabottle. You always come up with something. Isnt it?., but just like many other occasions I will take your words. But I dont find any where in the article there is a section that entitles him as 'Karmaverar'. No Legacy -- part is there to highlight it. Thats why I felt to include on the opening paras on intro. Also I never question on your values or feelings as I can sense you based on your hard efforts. I just asked just like that. nothing behind. ---- Ungal Vettu Pillai (talk) 12:25, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- You always come up with something. Isnt it?., but just like many other occasions what is this supposed to mean?. That i come up with excuses to somehow thwart your additions?. It looks like a borderline insult, but i will take your nothing behind explanation at its face value and let this go.--Sodabottle (talk) 12:32, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
List_of_Kongu_Vellalar_Kootams
Hi and thanks for your earlier note re: the Konguboy sock. Can you possibly pass a comment regarding List_of_Kongu_Vellalar_Kootams ? It is a long, sprawling, uncited list and is extremely confusing. For this reason I have started reverting further additions to it and prompting contributors to cite the information if they want to avoid the revert. This might be regarded as a rather an extreme measure, given how much of it is already uncited, but I'd appreciate your thoughts. Obviously, it is perfectly ok for me to do what I have under normal guidelines but there is a side to me that thinks perhaps I am being harsh. Am watching here, so no need for talkback.- Sitush (talk) 16:08, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
- It is a highly contentious topic. One for which no scholarly work (let alone consensus) exists. Most of the published sources on caste in TN are highly outdated (like Thurston) and the current day publications are usually done by amateur casteist historians with agendas. I suggest removing anything unsourced and lock it to a "only sourced entries" version. Next time i head to the library, i will look for Tamil books to source the list (they wont be neutral by any chance, but can be used for attribution)--Sodabottle (talk) 16:17, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
- That suits me just fine. Glad to have someone review what I've been doing. I'll add a note inline on the article, although I suspect that it will be ignored. As for Thurston and his ilk (Iyengar etc), well, I couldn't agree more. I'd love to find some modern, authoritative source to debunk those older books in a short & accessible way but as things stand I have to do it in a piecemeal manner, as I've been doing in my more or less total rewrite of Paravar. I think that a big problem with these things is the clash between Wikipedia's policies of verifiability etc and the subcontinent's long established, and still prevalent, emphasis on oral history. I have no idea how that circle can ever be squared but something will have to give because of the WMF push for more editors from that area. Still, not my problem while the policies are as they stand right now. - Sitush (talk) 16:25, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
Rites of passage in TN/Kerala
Hi, I'm wondering if you know the correct spelling of WP articles for pre- and post-puberty rites of passage called (in one source I have read) "talikettu" and "sanbandham". There is clearly a spelling issue here due to the transliteration from Indian languages. but I'd be surprised if there is no article for them. I did think that talikettu might be "thalikettu", but that turns out to be a film etc. Be grateful for any advice so I can continue fixing things up before an awkward editor comes off his block period. - Sitush (talk) 12:12, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
- in Tamil the pronunciation is "Thalikattu" (தாலிகட்டு) and sambandham (சம்பந்தம்). "Tha" and "Ta" are used interchangeably sometimes in indian language transliterations. I have no idea how they are pronounced in Malayalam, but it should be very close to the Tamil ones.--Sodabottle (talk) 12:20, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Sockpuppet
I just happened to wake up and see a couple of folks I respect on my watchlist accused ridiculously of sockpuppetry. Thanks for helping clean up after him/her. I take it they must have accidentally gotten mixed up in some controversy? Can I expect to be dragged into this now? Valfontis (talk) 10:55, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for blocking him. He is a long term sock with three SPIs and nearly 20 sock accounts identified so far. He has been patiently popping up now and then for the past four years. Recently he has lost it completely because a lot of people became aware of his activities and are reverting him on sight. So he has become frustrated and tagging everyone reverting/thwarting/blocking him as his own sockpuppets. As i am involved in the latest round of blocks (i filed the lastest SPI) he is vandalising my user and talk pages. :-). I don't imagine there will be any fuss about this - he is a know troll and sock master. I will file another SPI to see if there are any sleeper accounts.--Sodabottle (talk) 11:00, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- You're welcome--insomnia has its uses. Thanks for the information. Good luck with the SPI. I'll keep an eye out though it looks like I don't usually edit in his/her areas. Cheers, Valfontis (talk) 11:05, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
Hi! Just want a speak a word or two with you regarding the "Devasahayam Pillai" article which we had already discussed about. This article used to be previously ridden with so much pov and hatred that it was some cause of concern for us. However, due to an extremely commendable job by User:Fayenatic london, most of the article had been neutralized. See here. Now, I observe that User:Kumaripriya has been adding some pov stuff to the article. Now, the "Controversies" section is completely gone and the whole article reads like a propaganda pamphlet. I've affixed the NPOV tag to the article, but just want to consult you before reverting User:Kumaripriya's edits. -The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 13:28, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

why not the truth be published?
You own many awards from Wikipedia and what's the use until you allow truth to be published on Wikipedia. You know what happened to Sri Lankan Tamils and why are you so silent. You just visit the Velupillai Prabhakaran page and see a man who fought all his life for the welfare of Tamils in Sri Lanka is how much defamed. Are you a supporter of M.Karunanidhi? Just have a look at the following links:- http://www.dinamani.com/edition/Story.aspx?SectionName=Editorial&artid=410793&SectionID=132&MainSectionID=132&SEO=&Title=%3Cfont%20color=%22red%22%3E%E0%AE%A4%E0%AE%B2%E0%AF%88%E0%AE%AF%E0%AE%99%E0%AF%8D%E0%AE%95%E0%AE%AE%E0%AF%8D:%3C/font%3E%20%E0%AE%A4%E0%AE%AE%E0%AE%BF%E0%AE%B4%E0%AE%BF%E0%AE%A9%E0%AE%A4%E0%AF%8D%20%E0%AE%A4%E0%AF%81%E0%AE%B0%E0%AF%8B%E0%AE%95%E0%AE%BF%E0%AE%95%E0%AE%B3%E0%AF%8D..!

- Arun, that section you added is a opinion. It has to be reworded as criticism. You cannot say "karunanidhi did Y because of reason Z". That is not what we do in wikipedia. The dinamani and asia times links you cite are editorials - opinions of the editors. This can be included as "karunanidhi did Y and has been accused by (some people) of doing it because of reason Z". You see the difference between the two?. The first is repeating an opinion as if it is a fact. the second is reporting the accusation as made by others. --Sodabottle (talk) 11:19, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
