Don't you read those same locutions in research journals in which the authors are primarily addressing their colleagues rather than their students? I certainly do. Michael Hardy (talk) 06:00, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Grey School of Wizardry
[edit]I had to revert your entry on my talk page, because it only posted a few words and erased several months of material for some reason. I don't know what you meant to post there.Rosencomet (talk) 20:43, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- I don't believe I was aware of the previous article. Where can I view a copy of it, and see why it was deleted? In any event, I don't think it was right to delete this one only minutes after I began it, giving me no opportunity to expand it or establish it's notability. The Grey School does, indeed, exist, and has many students and some well-respected faculty members. I am neither affiliated with it nor with Church of All Worlds, but still think it deserves an article.Rosencomet (talk) 20:58, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- I am sorry that was the case, but a link to the original nomination for the deletion of the article is on the page which I linked on your talk page. You may want to enlist help to properly craft the article if you believe it is notable, but it will require more verifiable and reliable references than a link to the organization's own website. --SimpleParadox 21:03, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- I saw your note on Viriditas' talk page, and I accept that you are not part of the little group following my work. It seems to be a coincidence, although Pigman voted for it's deletion and may have been the one who both changed the tag to speedy delete and disappeared the article minutes later. I have never seen that happen before, except in the case of a deragatory and unsupported article about a living person. In any case, I'll try to create a better article off line before trying again. Maybe I'll give you a heads up so you can help stop it from being deleted without reading by some over-zealous editor.
- Would, say, links to five articles by third-party sources about the Grey School support it's notability? What should I look for?Rosencomet (talk) 20:14, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure it is the quantity as much as the quality of the sources. According to Wikipedia's guideline on reliable sources, the article "should rely on reliable, third-party published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy." Newspaper articles are generally considered to be reliable, but the best thing for you to do is to post questions about your sources on the reliable sources noticeboard and get some admins or editors to weigh in on your sources. If you do that and recreate the article, I will by all means do my best to "help stop it from being deleted without reading by some over-zealous editor." I hope this helps! Cheers. --SimpleParadox 20:23, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Hello SimpleParadox, I removed your report on WP:AIV on user 76.235.83.104 because the vandal hasn't vandalized after his/her final warning. Thanks for the good vandal-fighting work, and please report them again if they continue to vandalize. Thanks. Regards, Keilana 23:18, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- Keilana's too quick for me :) It may help to double check the timestamps in cases like these to avoid prematurely reporting a user to the noticeboard when the situation doesn't require administrator intervention as of yet. We have to be particularly careful with dynamic IP addresses in the sense that we should only report -> block after edits have been made after a final warning, as these addresses can be changed and another unrelated user may be hit by the block. Just a friendly reminder. Spebi 23:20, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, don't worry about it at all! I've made the same mistake several times. Happy editing, and just ask if you ever need any admin-y things done. :) Regards, Keilana 23:28, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

Deleting other users' comments on talk pages
[edit]Wolfkeeper, I would appreciate if you would refrain from deleting other editors' comments on article talk pages without their permission as you did here [2].
One shouldn't compound poor grammar with poor manners. Cheers, --SimpleParadox 17:18, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I didn't do that, there's a bug in the wikipedia server/ui that does that sometimes. I had absolutely no reason to delete your comment.- (User) WolfKeeper (Talk) 17:25, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, very good. I responded on your page, as well. Thank you for the quick reply. --SimpleParadox 17:31, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Baseball Newsletter
[edit]The Baseball WikiProject Newsletter Issue I – July 2008 | |
This month's newsletter was designed and written by Wizardman, jj137, and Blackngold29. If you would like to contribute to future newsletters, please contact the Baseball WP outreach dept. |
Baseball has a history unlike any other sport. It has been played in countless countries throughout the decades, and it will undoubtedly continue play for many more. On this eve, some the finest players the sport has to offer will take the field at the Yankee Stadium. Four popes spoke there, Pelé scored goals there, "The Greatest [football] Game Ever Played" was battled out there, John Philip Sousa lead a band there, George Costanza worked there; but what do all these events have in common? They fail to reach the level of greatness that the baseball that was played there did. In 1923, a man named Babe Ruth decided to build a new house, and over the years, that house was a home to some of the greatest baseball ever played. If I were to list out all of these great moments, it would be longer than the bill for the New Yankee Stadium. So I'll sum it up by saying that we can remember these great moments by adding them to this place we've gathered at for future generations to read about, to learn about, to dream about; but more importantly we can watch tonight and we can remember how baseball is unlike anything else that we will encounter in our lives. — Blackngold29 |
