Speedy deletion nomination of William Hill (bukméker)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on William Hill (bukméker) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. 331dot (talk) 10:10, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
I think part of the problem is you are using a template that does not exist; that is why the text you have put is not being displayed. 331dot (talk) 10:30, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

I am not sure I'm following the status of approval for each change... I only know that https://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Hill_(bukméker) in a clean browser shows an incomplete stage, yet from my user I see the complete version. And now I see it's pending deletion... Can somebody kindly clarify where in the process is this page now? Many thanks in advance!Sebastiansta (talk) 15:12, 14 October 2014 (UTC)
- The different language versions of Wikipedia are separate organizations. The version you link to is hu:William_Hill_(bukméker) on the Hungarian Wikipedia. Here on the English Wikipedia you posted William Hill (bukméker) and then blanked it, so that it has been deleted - it is not appropriate here, anyway, as we already have William Hill (bookmaker) in English. Dear John & all, I really am not trying to stir up a discussion... It is pretty simple: https://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Hill_(bukméker) has not been fully approved, but rather "stuck" in an intermediary editing stage and doesn't seem to progress towards completion. Is there anything wrong with it? I would be grateful for anyone's assistance!!!Sebastiansta (talk) 12:15, 19 October 2014 (UTC)
- That article is on the Hungarian Wikipedia, which is a separate organization, but it seems to be a fully-published article, and it does not look to me as though it needs any further approval.
- On the English Wikipedia, an article can either be submitted through WP:Articles for creation, when it is reviewed by an experienced user, or it can be posted directly. If posted directly, there is a volunteer "New Page Patrol" who may tag it for improvement or nominate for deletion, but no formal approval is needed.
- If you have doubts, you should ask advice on the Hungarian Wikipedia, perhaps at hu:Wikipédia:Kocsmafal (kezdőknek). JohnCD (talk) 14:08, 19 October 2014 (UTC)
Noted, thanks John! Sebastiansta (talk) 14:09, 19 October 2014 (UTC)
Ways to improve Eurogrand
[edit]Hi, I'm Sulfurboy. Sebastiansta, thanks for creating Eurogrand!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. /
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Sulfurboy (talk) 22:25, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
Melbourne Cup
[edit]The information you inserted is in the wrong position under the heading "Recent Years". Flemington Racecourse is mentioned in the lead paragraph of the article and is therefore a duplication. The rest of the information is not controversial, but could be included in a more relevant position. It does not require a reference to the William Hill website, which I suggest is only there as a spamlink. The track diagram, which is far too large, is copied from the William Hill site and may be a copyright violation. All of your previous edits to Wikipedia appear to involve William Hill. Do you have a conflict of interest. Are you in fact only here to promote that organization. Cuddy Wifter (talk) 06:12, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
- I have explained above my reasons for removing your edits. I will continue to remove your edits while you do not address the points I have made. Cuddy Wifter (talk) 07:29, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
I addresses them in your talk page:
Hi,
Just check your explanation, and the picture is the same size and in the same place than the race court panoramic picture.
Also, the link is there, because as you said, the picture is taken from that William Hill page (with permission)
Instead of arguing about interests (that is 100% an assumption of yours) please give me facts if the picture and the text are not good quality or not belongs to the Melbourne Cup entrance.
Please, before erasing again, talk with me, is more civilized than erasing over and over.

- Sebastiansta, as I explained at my talk and at the article talk and as Cuddy Wifter has just explained to you, you cannot use copyrighted images on wikipedia it's a WP:COPYVIO, you can't insert a link to a promotional betting site and pretend it's a reference, see WP:NOADS, and the information is not needed in the article anyway. In addition, per WP:BURDEN, it is your responsibility to justify the material, and it is not justifiable. Now stop trying to add this material before we have to ask an administrator to block you. [edit]Hello, I'm Montanabw. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the page Melbourne Cup, because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Montanabw(talk) 19:08, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Melbourne Cup. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. You are using a copyrighted image, you are using a for-profit betting site as a source, and the material is not necessary for the article Montanabw(talk) 16:41, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. KH-1 (talk) 01:04, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
