AfD nomination of Jaclyn Case

An editor has nominated Jaclyn Case, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jaclyn Case and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 14:59, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Infobox conversion

I see you've been slowly converting the various infoboxes over to use the generic Adult one. Could you be so kind as to do me a favour and tackle the one in the Ron Jeremy article next? Tabercil (talk) 19:23, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

When you see private and personal information (like real name or where they went to high school) about someone that doesn't have a citation, you should just go ahead remove it instead of using the [citation needed] tag. Vinh1313 (talk) 16:38, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Was curious about why you listed Image:Edsim clitoral glans innervation.jpg on "Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images." As the copyright owner we grant permission to copy, distribute and/or modify this image as stated in the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License. If we have the incorrect license attached to this file please let us know so we can change it. Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

--BioSim (talk) 18:42, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

We changed the copyright/license for the image caption. We also removed the "warning" on the image's internal page. Just to clarify, were we supposed to remove these "flags," or is that left for an administrator after the 14-day period? Please let us know, and thank you again for your assistance in this manner.

Hi, I have uploaded the photo Image:Bangkok_microzonation_map.jpg in Seismic microzonation page. The picture is my own creation and I want to release it in public with only two conditions (1) Anyone can use it freely for academic and business use but proper reference should be given to my paper published in http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/journal/106564765/abstract (2) The picture should not be distorted beyond its original purpose meaning it should not be distorted to give any wrong meaning

With these two conditions what copyright tag should i be using?? Rabin (talk) 23:04, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello, I have uploaded the photo Image:C.Mitnick.gif. The image was taken down due to a question of copyright and license. This image is a headshot used by CBS and NewsCorp entities. I also took the two pictures you commented to me about, saying that I didn't put their copyright info on them, but if you go to the pictures, it says clearly that "I created this picture entirely on my own."Hellohowareyoudoing (talk) 21:17, 29 May 2008 (UTC) User:hellohowareyoudoing —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hellohowareyoudoing (talkcontribs) 20:26, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi. You said there is some sort of concern regarding the chart I created for the up coming Canadian federal election (see subject/headline).

I created the chart MYSELF - and took quiet a while to do it, too. The data I used are available from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/40th_Canadian_federal_election

Please advise. --Can-eh-dian Redhead (talk) 13:19, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

OK! You may be the copyright holder but it doesn't say what is the copyright status for this image. To do it, please add a copyright tag to explain it's copyright status. See more on Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. --Sdrtirs (talk) 13:31, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the question. I'm the publisher [and designer] so I just put a note on the talk page to say it was fine. Anything else I need to do? The whole work is GNU. --Duncan (talk) 12:05, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Tag added to dextrorphan_3d.gif

Hello, I wish to inform you that I have added a tag to the dextrorphan_3d.gif image. Thanks for informing me of it lacking a tag. Cheers! C6541 (talk) 12:13, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Do not delete the station sign, as this is a source. Services no longer operate to these destinations displayed, but are still displayed on the platform. The point is that the station remains the same as it was many years ago, and is an important addition to the page, considering that Ellesmere Port to Warrington Line also mentions this fact regarding station signage. There is no other way of providing proof that the station signs actually say that. I would advise you to read the article before attaching any tags. In terms of the level crossing picture, "it compliments the article by providing a visual reference". Particularly as very few stations actually have these, it would be stupid to remove it. I once again would advise you to unmark these images. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.241.86.34 (talk) 17:33, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

These pictures were taken by ME on my Nokia N95. What exactly do you want for proof? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.241.86.34 (talk) 17:41, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, the copyright tag I think I would use is

Elton again... sorry

Images now all have correct tag. On another note, is it permitted to have a redirect set up so that 'Ince and Elton' will redirect to 'Ince and Elton railway station'? If so, how would this be implemented? Thanks. S. Thomson 18:06, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Deleting the Image of Brian Alters

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

The image Image:Brian Alters.jpg is owned by Brian Alters and he gives his permission freely to use it. I believe I made that clear when I uploaded the picture. However, it apparently did not have the proper tags from the copyright tag page, and you had it deleted. These tags are greek to me except for {{GFDL-self}} which, in my case is not appropriate, since I do not own the picture.

I have now uploaded the image again as Image:Brian_Alters_2.jpg. It would be nice if you could give me explicit instructions on how to prevent the image from being deleted. I do not want it to happen again! pionade (talk) 14:15 PST, 3 July 2008

Gettysburg Railroad Station Pictures

Why should the images on Gettysburg Railroad Station be deleted? Can you at least explain this to me?(Ryckje01 (talk) 15:50, 11 July 2008 (UTC))

inform the correct person about deletions

Be careful with deletion notions (like this and evidently also those you have left on the pages of several of the prev. users that have commented on your page). You should inform the person who uploaded/made the photo, not some random person who commented on it. Take this photo, which resulted in you leaving the previously linked deletion template on my page. As it clearly states in the box below the photo, the author of that photo is the user InaKoys. Notice that informing the uploaded/author generally is a requirement, i.e. if you fail to inform the correct person, you risk having the deletion request fail by default. Rabo3 (talk) 19:34, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for explaining why the message came to me. I still can't see how I created a page on commons by editing a page on Wiki. But never mind.

Sorry for any time I wasted. Btline (talk) 19:38, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Just for the record, that's incorrect and based on a misunderstanding. Btline didn't create the page - it's simply because of the "hole" in history that occurs when moving things between various wiki's. Regardless, you should always inform the person who uploaded/authored it, not some random person who commented on it. In this case [3] for example, the person who should have been informed is Loganberry (or alternatively his account on commons). Rabo3 (talk) 19:50, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
OK! Blame WP:TW! Sincerly, Sdrtirs (talk) 19:55, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

And now the thing I added to the image page has been wiped. Can you reinstate it please? It provides useful information. Thanks, Btline (talk) 20:01, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

inform the correct person about deletions2

As noted in my previous comments, you should inform the correct person, which, as noted in my previous comments here on your talk page, is InaKoys. The original author is either stated in the box below the photo (as in this case) or in the file history section (near the bottom of the page). Infrequently, where both these are missing, you're left with the last visible editor. I have explained in previous posts why the "hole" occurs in history. Note also that when something is moved by the automated or semi-automated process to Commons, the original file on e.g. English wiki is deleted automatically. What you then see on English wiki is not the original file. Rather, it is a hotlink from Commons. Notice also the quote below such files: here; This is a file from the Wikimedia Commons. The description on its description page there is shown below. If you click proporties over the photo it'll also confirm that it simply is a hotlink to the photo on Commons (i.e. not actually hosted on English wiki). For this reason, your current request for deletion of the above mentioned file won't work, as it isn't an independent file on English wiki. When you use a photo from Commons on e.g. English wiki, it will always automatically make such a hotlink page. To delete this page, you'd have to delete the photo from Commons, as that's where it really is. It is the same in all photos with a box below the photo stating: This is a file from the Wikimedia Commons. The description on its description page there is shown below. Try for example clicking on the various photos in the wiki article Bird (same in other versions of wiki; check e.g. the photos in the Portuguese article for bird). You'll notice that most originate from Commons and have the above mentioned quote below the photo (i.e. the first page you get to when clicking on the photos may give the impression that they're hosted on English [or Portuguese] wiki, but they're simply hotlinks from Commons). Regards, Rabo3 (talk) 20:46, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

CSD I2 tags

To explain it better to anyone who want to communicate with about this subject, I'm using WP:TW and the script says that CSD I2 is for an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image, like the {{Db-noimage-notice}}:

A tag has been placed on Image:Discrete probability distrib.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Discrete probability distrib.png|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

So, please change it if isn't right, I mean the notice, the script or the information, to everyone base on correct information.

Just a favor to ask, reading messages better can save us some time. --Sdrtirs (talk) 21:01, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Forwarded message and reply

Sdrtirs left the following message on my talk page:

{{Db-i2}} tags
Hello! Explaining what I have done, I just base my edits on the existing information. To explain it better heres the link notification about CSD I2: {{Db-noimage-notice}}. --Sdrtirs (talk) 19:57, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

My messages to your talk page were among many (several of which you removed [diff]) about improperly tagged images and notices left on the wrong user talk pages. You had been tagging images which fit the "available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name" description. Such images, if the specific WP:CSD#I8 conditions are fulfilled, should be tagged {{Db-i8}} and {{Db-nowcommons-notice}} should be posted on the image uploaders' user talk pages. — Athaenara 21:30, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for the information! As I explain it before, I based on the information given by the script WP:TW and if this information is misleading, then it should be changed to fit standards. You are going to delete this image because it is "available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name" yet you will notice the one in en.wp is newer than the one in commons has several misspellings fixed. Please, update the commons image before you delete this file. --MarsRover (talk) 01:32, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Bad job with your photo deletion practices

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Image:ChoppaNightvision.jpg. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.

I've noticed several instances where you have made some questionable calls in regards to images uploaded on Wiki. One of which was mine, which has since been uploaded again. Please take the time to ask yourself if you are really helping or hurting the community, and if you're giving enough notice. Some people don't Wiki all day and night like yourself. You have been reported to an Admin for further action.

--InvisibleDiplomat666 18:20, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

An image without a source information or a copyright information is challenged for deletion. I remember that was the case of this image. So, if you don't want your content to be deleted, please provide all information needed.--Sdrtirs (talk) 18:29, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Notice is what you give people when you're going to do something with their property, intellectually or otherwise. Just like a foreclosure, you should give plenty of notice. Seems like you would benefit more from actually working with people instead of trying to get kudos for monitoring copyrights. Especially when you don't seem to know what you're talking about.
If anyone would like to start a vote on whether this user has benefited the Wiki community with his deletion practices, please contact me and everybody else that shares a similar opinion on this talk page. What like 100 people think you make a bad call at least once a session.
--InvisibleDiplomat666 17:26, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
If Wikipedia didn't have rules about copyrights, I would never had been blocked for violating the rules. So, I learn the rules (and I still learning) and I'm committed to help anyone who needs help! This is what is called by learning with own mistakes. Each message I send is an invitation for participating with Wikipedia. And don't forget, Wikipedia has the capacity to undelete any content that was previously deleted. But this is a dilema: copyright respect and sharing information. I'll try my best to accomplish those two. In fact, I'm only a human, I can make mistakes!--Sdrtirs (talk) 17:45, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Lewis Library (re: speedy deletion)

Uh, yes, hello. You tagged one of the images I recently uploaded for speedy deletion, since it has an identical copy in the Wikimedia Commons. What happened was that I had uploaded the original image, but later realized I hadn't put a license tag on it. Without really intending to (I'm new at this, obviously), I created a duplicate, somehow. One version now has the license tag it needs, and I'm not sure what to do about the other one. Please make sure that the one without the license is the one that gets deleted. Any suggestions? JWut89LA (talk) 22:48, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I just wanted to say that the edit you reverted on Hurley's page by 208.127.57.94 was not vandalism. He/she made a necessary edit. I noticed you left him/her a message on the talk page, which you might want to remove/correct. Thanks. Busillis (talk) 12:13, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

At this stage I'm not sure that I can get the organization which sent me the photo to give additional permission, but, if you read the emails from them to me, you can see the sequence of ervents leading to the pix being sent to me to upload. You are right. Please delete. Thank You--Ambrosius007 (talk) 07:09, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

I see you've nominated this for deletion, is the link changed to the commons version automatically by bot on deletion or do users have to do it? Justin talk 09:11, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Dear Sdrtirs,

Thank you for your comment regarding that edit, but please do not accuse me of vandalism. My intent was merely to post a humorous comment on the talk page, not on the page itself---I reverted this after realizing my mistake. Frankly, I'm surprised you've spent the time reproving me for an error I have already corrected---there are certainly more pressing and constructive tasks to be performed on this site than chasing down the latest reverts. --Wolf m corcoran (talk) 20:28, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

It seems to me that you moved to Commons and deleted a picture which I uploaded without looking at its restrictions:This image might not be in the public domain outside of the United States (this especially applies in Canada, China (not Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan Area), Germany, Mexico, and Switzerland). The creator and year of publication are essential information and must be provided. See Wikipedia:Public domain and Wikipedia:Copyrights for more details. Maybe I am wrong, as I am not familiar with all policies. Kindly check again, and, if necessary, revert the move. Thank you. --Ambrosius007 (talk) 07:18, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

I expected your response a while ago. I will ask for speedy deletion in light of existing restrictions mentioned above if you do not respond within 48 hours. Thank you! --Ambrosius007 (talk) 14:10, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Um, my permission is right here [4]. It is included in the photo summary as well, and has been for some time. Is it not supposed to be there? Lady Galaxy 00:32, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Also, see this [5]. That user said I did it right... Lady Galaxy 00:33, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Why?

Why are you arbitrarilly targeting ALL of my pictures for deletion? This does not make any sense, nor is it fair. I am only trying to help enhance Wikipedia. Rbonaccorso (talk) 14:35, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the response, but I believe there is either a double-standard or users who are more "creative" in their fair use descriptions as I have only uploaded images based upon what I have seen on other sites and modelled after them. It is not my intention or goal to break any rules. Rbonaccorso (talk) 00:56, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for telling me about that it'd be deleted - I've now put a copyright tag on it. -darrenm540 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Darrenm540 (talkcontribs) 16:11, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Jessica Lal Murder Case and Ajit Jogi ;former CM of Chattisgarh and close confidante of Late Shri Rajiv Gandhiji

Sir, I do not know who you are ,but please note that I have given a reference of all the Wikipedia pages as well as my blog on "organized crime and terrorism in India" ,whereby I have also posted documents and pictures ,authenticating all that I have written on Wikipedia, having first hand experience in person of the said events. Let me also apprise you of the fact that I have given an intervention in the Supreme Court of India, for the release of Mr.Manu Sharma who has been falsely implicated in the Jessica Lal murder. The presence of Mr.Manu Sharma on wikipedia is itself due to the Jessica Lal murder case. According to Indian Law a person is presumed to be innocent till his appeal rests with the Judiciary of India ,no matter at what level or hierarchy .It may be the junior courts or the apex court but the presumption rests with the judiciary that "let not an innocent be punished ;no matter you might release 8 wrong doers. So please let the public know the real facts. Not a single word I have written is without documentary evidence. The case pertains to the strategic interests and internal/external security of the country.Neither am I promoting a leader by the said changes nor should you unnecessarily use Wikipedia to besmirch and willify someone. All this long text to ask for not deleting this image... I don't want delete any image! In this case, this image is a fair use and is orphan. It must be linked in an article, but I'm not familiarized with the subject, I don't know where to link. --Sdrtirs (talk) 15:22, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Your recent Twinkle action

Wikipedia offers many user talk templates to warn users about possible violations of vandalism ({{uw-vandalism3}}), the three-revert rule ({{uw-3rr}}), and other policies and guidelines. You should use these templates carefully.

These templates serve to explain the respective rule to new editors. When novice editors break rules, it is quite possible that they are unaware of it, and educating them is helpful. On the other hand, most editors that have been around for a while are familiar with these rules. If they break (or are about to break) one, it is frequently the result of some dispute, or temporarily heated tempers. In such situations, sticking to "did you know we had a rule against this" mentality tends to be counterproductive in resolving the issue, as it can be misconstrued as being patronising and uncivil.

A personal message tends to work better in these situations. If you have a question, why not ask the experienced user your question? You may begin a dialogue that will prove much more effective than a template.

Note, however, that templating at all — to regulars or newcomers — may be taken as rude by being impersonal (biting the newbies). No one likes to feel they are being bureaucratically processed. Writing what the template says in your own words, with reference to the particular situation, is more likely to communicate well if the editor is amenable to reason. Failing that, you can append a personal message immediately after the template.

Having said this, those who receive a template message should not assume bad faith regarding the user of said template. They may not be aware how familiar the user is with policy, or may not consider it rude themselves. They may also simply be trying to save time by avoiding writing out a lengthy message that basically says the same thing as the template, which is, after all, the purpose of a template.

All this text because of this. Personally, I think that WP:DTTR policy is a discrimination to all other users, thinking that an administrator is an user (like others) with sysop operations. And, when I see an image that missing something, I have to notice the uploader of that, according the rules for all users, even the user is administrator or not. The image description don't say if is an administrator or not, to do that I have to go to the user's page to see if is an administrator or not to know what kind of notice if have to send... All discrimination is against Universal Declaration of Human Rights. So, if I ever been blocked by this, what it would makes Wikipedia look like?--Sdrtirs (talk) 13:37, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
WP:DTTR may be a discrimination to all other users, but it's just as ridiculous to put 15 templates on anyone's talk page. You could have notified me with a single message, not with 15. And the messages you gave me don't even make sense. There is no speedy deletion criterion which matches what you said. Tell me what's missing, show me the policy that says it has to be there, and maybe I can help you. Anyway, here's an explanation for those images. I'll let you do the work of putting them on each separate page, since you apparently like doing such mindless tasks all day. By the way, I'm not an administrator. Anthony (talk) 13:49, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
  • Image:Ram_002.jpg - delete it
  • Image:Fringestime.png and Image:Kettle_Falls_Elementary_School.png - ineligible for copyright
  • The rest (Image:Herringbone.jpg, Image:Scottishbond.jpg, Image:DSCF0348.JPG, Image:Kennywood.jpg, Image:Kennywood_racer_blurred.jpg, Image:Kennywood_phantum.jpg, Image:Duquesne_incline.jpg, Image:Wawa.jpg, Image:Vetstadium.jpg, Image:Sandhill_publix.jpg, Image:Closet.jpg) - all taken by someone I know personally and released under CC-SA. This person does not want his/her name associated with Wikipedia. I personally guarantee that they are under CC-SA. So figure out what you want to do with them. I don't care. I guess I could upload them all to flikr under a pseudonym and then someone could take them from there, since this seems to be allowed. Or I could create a sockpuppet on Wikipedia and claim that I took the pictures myself. But isn't that ridiculous? How is author: SomeStupidWikipediaPseudonym any better than author: anonymous? Show me the policy I have to follow.
Simply go to Wikipedia:Image use policy.--Sdrtirs (talk) 14:04, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Responding to your email

You sent me an email, and I quote:

In case you care to defend yourself, I wanted to let you know I've written about you at http://blog.p2pedia.org/2008/08/image-source-problems-and-possibly.html

After reading your email, I thought that this was a childish thing to do. So, be more mature and peaceful. Regards, Sdrtirs (talk) 16:45, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

What would be nice you to do

  1. Eliminating all bad things that you said about me.
  2. Learning Wikipedia rules. I'm not guilty if you don't know Wikipedia policies and don't blame me for following rules.
  3. Being patient and showing your point of view. It could be different from others.
  4. Helping others to achieve rightness to their edits.
  5. Enjoying being on Wikipedia and sharing knowledge.

Sincerely, I expected from you a more cooperative attitude. If someone doesn't something, for example, rules or procedures, may always ask for help, like you did when you asked me what was the policy that I was following. As you saw, I replied your message indicating the policy, didn't I? So, something nice from would be grate. Regards, Sdrtirs (talk) 20:13, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Templating the regulars

With regard to your statement that Personally, I think that WP:DTTR policy is a discrimination to all other users, thinking that an administrator is an user (like others) with sysop operations.

  • Your sentence doesn't parse, grammatically, and there is no such thing as "a discrimination", nor is a "regular" the same thing as an "administrator".
  • It's preferably to refer to other editors as "editors", not as "users".
  • WP:DTTR isn't policy, it's an essay. Essays are advice.
  • Treating editors who have different levels of experience differently isn't "discrimination", it's simply a smart thing to do. See, for example, "teaching your grandmother to suck eggs". -- John Broughton (♫♫) 15:44, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, did you say there is no such thing as "a discrimination"?--Sdrtirs (talk) 23:02, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
How to File a Discrimination Complaint (government site).--Sdrtirs (talk) 23:09, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
There is a difference between a word used as an adjective and the same word used as a singular noun. The example you offer, above, uses "discrimination" as an adjective. See Noun#Countable and uncountable nouns for further information. As stated in that section of the the article, another example of a grammatically incorrect phrase is "a laughter. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 01:28, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

You were blocked for a whole 31 hours, once, back in February. Why are you making such a big fuss now? --Orange Mike | Talk 13:48, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

May be if you wish to tell me what had happened, I can try to help out to know what went wrong. WP is still a better place but people gets dishearted when they dont understand the policies. -- Tinu Cherian - 14:30, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

Comment

To repeat what I said at Image_talk:Kapoor_JabWeMet.jpg. If you were blocked wrongly, even a long time ago, we have forums for that sorta thing at WP:AN and WP:DR, please though do not disrupt content to try and draw attention to your situation, it will only make things worse. MBisanz talk 14:27, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

Using the phrase I was blocked on Wikipedia to using this image on their actor's biographical article. The same is this image. But if this image pass, then the other I uploaded too, so there wasn't any reason to block me. as the basis of a content decision is almost always, if not always, the wrong basis to make such a decision. Lets see how the DRV plays out. MBisanz talk 14:42, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

Could you please explain this tag: " 08:52, 10 July 2008 Sdrtirs (Talk | contribs) (4,164 bytes) (Tagging Image:British South Africa Company 1889.jpg which is up for deletion per CSD (TW)) (undo)" which was attached to the article Edward Arthur Maund. Regarding your recent spate of edits such as this, this is an inappropriate use of PD-textlogo. This licensing is only valid for when the logo is made of a simple typeface: Image:Los Angeles Times.svg is a good example. Any text logo that requires some sort of creative choice such as Image:888 logo.gif will be protected by copyright (someone had to decide that the 8s should have the illusion of perspective). Please go back and revert your license changes. Thank you. howcheng {chat} 18:05, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

September 2008 ???

Dear Sdrtirs,

You put this note in my talk page today. I am not sure why or about what.

I am working on the Polish heraldic clan Sas coat-of-arms and some of their variations as Biliński coat of arms and Garczyński coat of arms, may be I will do the same with Sas II coat of arms today... if I get time, (I am working in the w:pl: Sas (herb szlachecki) and else). All this works are still going on, so they will remain as stubs some time.

I may do a lot of mistakes but I never vandalise. Please tell me what is the problem in order to revert whatever I did wrong.

By the way, I noticed that it is an issue in w:pt about the categories concerning Polónia or Polônia. May you tell me what is the proper word in Portuguese? I would like to help.

I did take a look in your MySpace... you have very beautiful she-friends... congratulations!

Best regards. (You can write me in Portuguese if you wish – I understand it quite well even I do not write it). --Gustavo (talk) 20:37, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

  • OK, I will pay attention. May you tell me what is the proper word in Portuguese? Polónia or Polônia? Thank you and regards.

Hi Sdrtirs

I am the original author of Image:Port Melbourne Foreshore Near The Port Melbourne Yacht Club.jpg and Image:Port Melbourne Bayside Foreshore Promenade.jpg. I just have found you left the message in my talk page on 17/08/08. Please delete the Image:Port Melbourne Esplanade.jpg and Image:Port Melbourne Promenade.jpg you identified. So far I have no idea why the user Commons:User:File Upload Bot Magnus Manskewho duplicated my images I contributed to the Wikimedia Commons and placed these two duplications in Wikipedia. Thanks--Donaldtong (talk) 14:16, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Barnawartha

I'm afraid that you might want to work on your reading comprehension.

I am not the author of the original page, but I have undeleted it in the past because lazy editors can't be bothered to read the image notes and thereby notice that it is indeed released under a free license. Rebecca (talk) 14:36, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

But there is no proof that this image is from the author and not a copyright violation. So, this image is now for discussion. You may explain your point of view and say why you believe that this image is not a copyright violation at the discussion page. Have good edits. Regards, Sdrtirs (talk) 14:40, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
Several established users have repeatedly corresponded with the author of this image, and we have confirmed that he is fine with them being released under a free license. That's where we are. You can throw your weight around all you like, but you will not remove correctly freely licensed images from this project under my watch. Should you re-add the notice after ignoring the image notes and my explanation here, the tag will be re-removed, should you nevertheless go on and delete the image against policy, it will be undeleted. Cheers. Rebecca (talk) 14:46, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
Honey, don't you dare threaten me. As a long-time admin, I'm well aware of the image use policy, and you're way out of line to be threatening another editor with blocking. Rebecca (talk) 14:47, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
