Love You Two

Hi, Sandstein

I know you recently deleted Love You Two after a deletion discussion due to unreliable sources, so I have a favor to recreate the deleted page because the show will air this month, I really need to restore the deleted page, or you will restore this if you accept my favor. (Mc Eduard Figueroa (talk) 07:19, 2 April 2019 (UTC))

I don't undelete pages, but you can ask at WP:REFUND to restore this to your user space. Sandstein 09:33, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

Deletion of P.P. Suneer is unacceptable

The decision to delete the page P.P. Suneer, is wrong and unacceptable. The whole India is talking about him, searching his details in internet; but Wiki think that he is "irrelevant"? He is very much relevent. Check the news link for details. https://bangaloremirror.indiatimes.com/news/india/meet-p-p-suneer-rahul-gandhis-rival-in-wayanad-says-confident-of-springing-a-surprise/articleshow/68688678.cms

Please re-install that page. A humble request.

There is or was no page with the title P.P. Suneer. Sandstein 11:03, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

Nishidani foul-mouthing again

Nishidani has ended his umpteenth voluntary editing hiatus, and is back to his usual foul-mouthing.[1][2][3]

Since you commented on the last WP:AE regarding Nishidani, which was based on his bad language, that you would not tolerate his continued battleground-like conduct,[4] I want to bring this to your attention. Perhaps a last warning is in order. Debresser (talk) 20:28, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

If you think action is needed, please make a request at WP:AE. Sandstein 11:03, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
Do you think the above diffs are sufficient grounds to justify a request at that forum? I do not mean to ask if you will act on it, I mean to ask if you think that I am not seeing things that should be seen in a different light. I wouldn't want editors at WP:AE to think that going to WP:AE is a step that I take lightly. Debresser (talk) 11:34, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
It's not an obvious case for sanctions. Yes, there's vulgarity, but most of the discussion seems to be relevant and about content. It depends on previous conduct and sanctions, I suppose, but off the cuff I wouldn't impose sanctions just for this. Sandstein 12:36, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

Concord Orchestra

Hello Sandstein, My article about Concord Orchestra was recently deleted after a discussion. Is it possible that I continue to work on it as a draft? Is there any way to restore it? I am sure to have more references in English soon. I am sorry that there were not many participants in the debate. I have applied to WP Requests for undeletion and they told me to contact you. Thank you for you time! Best regards Dariakupila (talk) 11:41, 7 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi. I don't undelete pages, but you can ask at WP:REFUND to restore this to your user space. Sandstein 16:33, 7 April 2019 (UTC)

Hello Sandstein, I have already asked there and this is what I got: "this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Concord Orchestra, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, Sandstein (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. — JJMC89 (T·C) 23:03, 6 April 2019 (UTC)

Should I apply now to deletion review or where? Thank you.

Best regards, Dariakupila (talk) 05:46, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

You were misunderstood. I do not object to another admin restoring the article as a draft, I just won't do it myself. Sandstein 08:46, 8 April 2019 (UTC)

/* Hinduism */ Why Vishva Shakti Durga Mandir Wiki gets Deleted?

Hi Sandstein,

I am secretary of Visva Shakti Durga Mandir Association, located at 55 Clarey Ave, Ottawa, ON K1S 2R6. Deletion review for Concord Orchestra

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Concord Orchestra. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Dariakupila (talk) 06:05, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

Deletion of SheerID

Hey Sandstein,

I tried making a change to the SheerID wiki page with updating our new logo and changing our CMO (I changed it to our new CMO). I saw that it got flagged for deletion for trying to fluff up and write up about the company. I was just trying to update those two things with our present change. If there is a way we could get our page back with adding our new logo, I would be extremely happy. Seems as if maybe an algorithm just flagged it since I tried to change the logo?

AE sanction

Regarding my AE sanction:[5]

I think there is nothing "vexatious"[6] about the report, as I am the victim of Nishidani hounding me, harassing me and using inappropriate language.

As I argued on WP:AE, his behavior is related to the IP-conflict.[7]

Regarding my use of the f-word 3 times in a decade, that is not to be compared with Nishidani using it systematically to intimidate other editors, as I explained there as well.[8]

I have no problem with editors seeing things not my way, but to call this report "vexatious" and to sanction me for posting it, that is not justified, IMHO, in view of the circumstances. Consequently, I would ask you to reconsider your sanction of me. Debresser (talk) 18:53, 7 April 2019 (UTC)

I have read and considered these arguments you made at AE, but I disagree. I would not have sanctioned you if you had not previously been warned not to misuse AE, but as it is, I believe your contributions to that forum are not helpful in identifying actual misconduct. Sandstein 19:07, 7 April 2019 (UTC)
I am fine with you disagreeing with my arguments, but I think you too agree that the report was made in good faith. You may remember that a few sections above I asked you if reporting the usage of the f-word would be legitimate, and I heeded your recommendation, and didn't report Nishidani till he started hounding me on two articles and harassing me on my talkpage. I added there that I would not want admins to think that going to WP:AE is something I take lightly.
Likewise, I think you agree as well, that there was actual misconduct from the side on Nishidani. Now, if you think that WP:AE was not the correct venue, that is a legitimate objection, one that one can agree or disagree with, but a good faith report of actual misconduct can not be called "misuse" and should not be sanctioned.
Especially, by the way, since I stated clearly, that if there would be consensus that WP:AE is not the right venue, I'd gladly take it to WP:ANI.[9] I am convinced that Nishidani's behavior towards me is IP-conflict related, but I never insisted on my opinion being the absolute truth, and am fine with taking this elsewhere. I think it is a stretch to sanction me for being of the (very logical) opinion that Nishidani's actions are IP-conflict related. Debresser (talk) 19:24, 7 April 2019 (UTC)
Will you be replying to what I wrote? Debresser (talk) 20:21, 9 April 2019 (UTC)
I don't intend to, no. Sandstein 21:20, 9 April 2019 (UTC)
I think you are more or less supposed to, being that you sanctioned me. Debresser (talk) 21:36, 9 April 2019 (UTC)
I responded to your concerns above. I still disagree with them. This is not the place to re-litigate your complaint, as it is clear that neither I nor other admins consider it actionable. Sandstein 21:46, 9 April 2019 (UTC)
The stated reason that you and two other other admins hold that Nishidani's actions are not actionable, is because they were made outside the ARBPIA area. First of all that means that no admin said that they weren't violations. Secondly, and most importantly, none of the admins directly addressed the question whether my claim that these edits from outside the IP-conflict area were the result of a battlefield attitude rooted in a disagreement in the IP-conflict area, is enough reason to address them at WP:AE, because you decided to close this report before any admin had the chance to address that question directly. I think that was premature, to close a good-faith report, with a serious theoretical question to address, within 24 hours. And a fortiori that means that it was premature to decide I made a faux pas coming to WP:AE with these issues. So I would really ask you to reconsider your sanction. And regarding the report, I think it should be reopened or at least the closure should be rewritten to reflect that the report should have been made at another forum. Debresser (talk) 21:14, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
You remain free to challenge Nishidani's actions in other fora than AE (and I express no view on whether that would be a good idea), but my view remains that, taking into account the totality of your contributions to AE and not just this case, your AE contributions add more to the battleground mentality and entrenched interpersonal conflicts in this topic area than they help to resolve these issues. I therefore maintain my decision to impose a ban from AE, which you can challenge by way of an appeal, as I assume you know. Sandstein 08:40, 11 April 2019 (UTC)
The matter of the fact is that the only thing that would really help improve the climate between the editors active in the IP-conflict area is if you would have sanctioned Nishidani, for his continuously aggravating the situation. Instead, you punished the victim. It should come as no wonder to you that many editors think so poorly of WP:ANI and WP:AE, among which editors I count myself for most of the 10 years of my active editing on Wikipedia.
In addition, it is a shame you didn't make good on your words,[10] and it does you no credit, IMHO.
I doubt I'll appeal your decision, because I don't have much faith in the system. meaning that I don't think other admins will correct your mistake, nor would it be of great importance, since even if my right to report at WP:AE were restored, in my experience hardly ever does anything good come from such reports, unfortunately. Debresser (talk) 02:16, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

Undeleting Jalin Turner

Hello Sandstein, if possible could you please consider undeleting Jalin Turner. I belive you were the admin who closed the deletion discussion (see here) when the subject of the article failed WP:MMATIER, but recently Turner has fought in his third UFC fight which satisfied WP:NMMA. See here for proof of that. Thanks Inter&anthro (talk) 05:54, 14 April 2019 (UTC)

Sorry, I'm very disinterested in sports and can't assess that. Please ask another admin, e.g. at WP:REFUND. Sandstein 13:58, 14 April 2019 (UTC)

TLS interceptions

Hi Sandstein Thank you for adding the section on TLS interception to the security section of the TLS page. Please provide additional references if you can, as currently this subsection relies entirely on a single reference to a paper at a recent security conference in San Diego. Marlon du Toit

Hello Sandstein, Would you plz consider article:Marlon du Toit for undeletion?

--Gpkp (utc) 17:28, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

Why? Sandstein 17:31, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
As I intend to work on it further. --Gpkp (utc) 17:42, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
Sorry, I don't userfy pages, but you can ask at WP:REFUND. Sandstein 18:09, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
I did ask there (link), but was informed to contact the administrator. Can it be undeleted in Deletion review? --Gpkp (utc) 16:52, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
You can tell the REFUND admins that I take no view one way or the other. Sandstein 17:27, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
Thank you, Sandstein. --Gpkp (utc) 17:45, 16 April 2019 (UTC)

Warez groups don’t have websites

They have a website called 3DMGAMES the thing about warez group is that they don’t use websites to distribute there releases instead they use FTP Servers which can download a 50gb in less then two minutes which is much faster then downloading a torrent file. Mikemyers345 (talk) 19:15, 20 April 2019 (UTC)

I've changed the description to "piracy group", which is what the sources describe them as. Sandstein 19:21, 20 April 2019 (UTC)

Request for undeleting Gifyu.com

Hi Sandstein,

Could you please consider undeleting Gifyu.com?. The deletion discussion stated the reason as the requirements for "notability" in Wikipedia's sense of the term are not met (see WP:GNG for the basic criteria). I was new to Wikipedia and was not fully aware of the definition of notability and hence provided irrelevant evidence. I can now supply many relevant sources like articles on lifewire.com about the site.

Thanks, Tharun — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tharun518 (talkcontribs) 07:39, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

Please provide your three best sources here. Sandstein 08:16, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

Thanks. Here are my top 3 sources

1. https://www.lifewire.com/top-free-image-hosting-websites-1357014

2. https://www.trustorrun.com/best-free-image-hosting-sites/

3. https://merlinone.com/best-image-hosting-services/

That's not enough for me to undelete this article. These are all brief entries on lists of imagehosting services, on websites of not readily apparent reliability. This does not pass the bar of WP:GNG. Sandstein 11:21, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

Ram Barkai

Hi My name is Ram Barkai

I noticed you have redirected my wikipedia page to Stan Lee super human page?

I wonder why have you redirected it? It eliminated all my Wikipedia references? I can find part of my page in Afrikaans wikipedia? I am not Afrikaans speaking? https://af.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ram_Barkai Who did all that? can you put me back to english?

Also - some facts are wrong????

Please help — Preceding unsigned comment added by 197.87.238.238 (talk) 12:43, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

It seems that Ram Barkai is both a fictional character and a real swimmer, which I assume you (and Rbarkai (talk · contribs)) are. There was consensus in a community discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ram Barkai that we should not have an article about the swimmer, and that we should instead redirect the page to where the fictional character is covered. The Afrikaans Wikipedia entry has nothing to do with this. Sandstein 13:11, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi I am not sure how to reply to your comment.

Ram Barkai the real swimmer and Ram Barkai in Stan Lee are the same person. I participated in Stan Lee tv show about real human superhuman.

Please can you reinstate my wikipage. I use it in my business life and this redirect is causing me problems. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rbarkai (talkcontribs) 15:23, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

How do I reinstate my old English Wikipedia page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rbarkai (talkcontribs) 15:48, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

(by talk reader) @Rbarkai: Wikipedia will not be interested in an article about you until we have significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources. Until then, there is nothing to be done. The fact that you exist does not matter for purposes of notability and we are not your promotional tool. Chris Troutman (talk) 16:38, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

I am very impressed with the level of hostility.

For the record - I never published on wikipedia.

For years I had a page which I ahem no idea how it got there. Not by myself. I attempted top edit it to correct some factual mistakes.

I didn't write it, it had references to articles, publications etc...

I am not familiar with wikipedia formats I had a request fro info and I looked at my wikipedia page and noticed you have turned me into a fiction character?

Why are you being so hostile? why don't you ask for the facts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 197.87.238.238 (talk) 16:50, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

Mr. Barkai, we will not undelete the article about you because a community discussion already decided not to keep this article. If you need a website for business purposes, please create your own. We are an encyclopedia, not a CV repository. This is all I have to say about this matter. Sandstein 17:57, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

In regard to the closing of this AfD, was it your intention to allow the article to be replaced with a redirect to List of Playboy Playmates of 2004; deny a redirect (as one of the "delete" recommenders said); or to take no position either way? --Metropolitan90 (talk) 22:19, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

I take no position either way because I consider that there was no consensus about whether or not a redirect is needed. Sandstein 08:25, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
Thanks. As it turns out, another editor has already created the redirect. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 00:02, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

Lee Dae-hwi

Thanks for closing the deletion review for Lee Dae-hwi. Could you please unprotect the article so it can be restored, either from history or the new draft? -Zanhe (talk) 04:32, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

Done. Sandstein 05:56, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
Thanks, I went ahead and recreated the article from the draft, which is superior to the old version, and requested a histmerge. -Zanhe (talk) 06:57, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
