Hey, when you're uploading images to add to List of characters from Sonic the Hedgehog (games), please make sure you format the fair use tags properly. First, put |Article=List of characters from Sonic the Hedgehog (games)
instead of |Article=List of characters from Sonic the Hedgehog (games)
, and also make sure you write something to the effect of "Illustration of the character." for |Purpose=
. I've fixed it already on the images for Silver, Metal Sonic, and Blaze. Cheers! lifebaka++ 14:55, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SLJ, I've warned you about personal attacks and now I find I must warn you about edit warring at List_of_characters_from_Sonic_the_Hedgehog_(games). I should block you for this, but I don't want to block you. Don't edit war. Truth be told, I don't think you should be making more than one revert per article per day. If I hear you've been edit warring or making personal attacks again I will block you and please, if you're going to edit Wikipedia, spend less time doodling about with your user stuff and edit articles more. It's ok to be friendly, it's ok to have a cool user page but your account is for editing articles. Maybe you should ask for a mentor. Gwen Gale (talk) 06:44, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sonic&Mario.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. It's been removed anyway, but please do not use YouTube videos a reference, as you did with Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, or remove a more reliable source (journal) in order to replace it with an unreliable one. Thanks. Synergy/Blades (Talk) 14:48, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have used my browser's search function for the word "major" over the talk page, and I can find no discussion to back up your claims that a consensus was reached on those specific characters; out of personal interest, would you mind showing me where this was reached? Regardless, I have removed the section names as, rightly, I read on the talk page that they would really need to be categorised by a secondary source. Synergy/Blades (Talk) 02:30, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- But I still can't find where this consensus was reached that you spoke of on my talk page. I'd appreciate knowing where we decided that they were were major characters and since we decided that a while ago so that, if I went against a prior consensus, I can learn where my mistake was made. Otherwise, it makes it seem like it was just that you didn't like the way I'd categorised them, though I'm sure that's not the case - hence my question. Synergy/Blades (Talk) 03:09, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- As an aside, I can barely read your user page, all thanks to the colour purple! Have you tried a lighter shade perhaps? Synergy/Blades (Talk) 03:10, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- No, I think it will do as uncategorised for the time being. It's the content, tone and references I'm more concerned with at the moment. Also, never mind about your user page, was just letting you know it was hard to read! Synergy/Blades (Talk) 03:25, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, SLJ, I did try to get admin once: Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Red Phoenix. It unfortunately turned out to be a botched nomination by a user who eventually admitted to being a sock of a banned user, and assuming good faith led me to fall for something stupid. Though the nomination was replaced, it was too late and most of the damage had been done already. I'm still waiting a couple more months before I try again because I've had activity issues over the summer as well, and the more time that passes between noms, the better. Just an interesting little bit of history for you. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 18:06, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Ummm... now that I've cleared myself out of the task force, I'm a little surprised you guys didn't set up shop there, and to be honest you probably should move it to the task force page and still call it the Sonic Task Force. Yes, you can keep the cool logo Unknown made, I'm not involved in the task force anymore even though I created it because it didn't turn out like I hoped it would. The reason I think you'll want to move it on top is because there's no task force activity other than this committee and it seems like the to-do list is pretty duplicative of one another, so why do you need the separation? Of course, you might want to talk with FFF before you make any changes like that. Apologies if it takes me too long to respond, I've been doing some long edits to List of Sega Mega-CD games to shape it up for WP:FLC like what I previously did with List of Sega 32X games. Hey SLJ, could see if might want to help me out with this one article I might put up [[User:Unknown the Hedgehog/Sandbox]]? Sense there's a list of games notable for negative reception, I thought about making a list of games notable for good reception. The list has to have games that are really popular for their good reviews. For example Final Fantasy VII and Super Mario Bros.. Unknown the Hedgehog 20:58, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- I don't think we should count the Madden NFL games because there's always a pattern...
Part 1: The new Madden gets announced and all the fans get excited and forget about the last Madden.
Part 2: The game gets closer to release. More anticipation comes.
Part 3: The game gets released and it's the most popular game for a couple weeks.
Go back to part 1 and read the 3 parts again. Unknown the Hedgehog 00:20, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Just logged in. Ok, the list is about all the popular games that are good. For the rating thing, I'll say maybe if the game is higher than like 8.5 or 9.0 on IGN or Gamespot. For SNN it won't let me log in or create a new account on the IC. Unknown the Hedgehog 14:10, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Oh and ya I'm gonna make it an article when we're done. Unknown the Hedgehog 14:15, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I'm kinda confused on my plan also :P. Like what if a game gets a 9.5 rating but nobody's heard of the game. Originally I made the list for popular good games out there sense there's a list of games notable for bad reception. For example, you know how The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Final Fantasy VII are still being claimed to be the greatest games of all time that's what the list is basically for. The Kingdom Hearts would be good but, isn't the greatest hits based off on how much it sold? E.T. and Pac-Man were some of the best selling games on the Atari 2600 and look how they turned out. And Shadow the Hedgehog got slammed by reviewers. Unknown the Hedgehog 14:31, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- The reason why I didn't add the original SSB is because it got good reviews but not like GOOD reviews. Gamespot gave it a 7.5 and IGN gave it an 8.5. SSBM and SSBB kinda launched the series where it is today. Unknown the Hedgehog 15:59, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SLJ, I strongly advise you to take a wikibreak while fixing your userpage. Add the template explainig why and all that. Say you have taken the time off to do some work on your page. I'm not sue if it will work, but it's the best excuse I have of Gwen not blocking you. And put your fanfics on the Sonic News Network. They allow them there. Besides, that would add to the amount of userspace edits. And I don't think you can put fanfics here as AMIB told me.Fairfieldfencer FFF 19:46, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have given it some time to see if it would improve, but with this page and this large navbox/template suggesting you're about to create fanfics in subpages, I am a little concerned that you did not heed the warning given by Gwen Gale with regards to userspace edits (check your userspace vs mainspace edits here, perhaps a bit worrying is that almost 50% of your edits are on user/user talk pages, and 25% are article talk pages) and not using Wikipedia as a social network or as a personal site (what the huge box and fanfic links imply). Please, please, try and work in the main space; either stick to article subjects you know, or perhaps try and branch out a bit into everyday life, or even just prod away at the Random Article link and fix some spelling or grammatical errors. The character lists on all the other season articles are unsourced. What's your beef with the Season 12 article? 75.67.199.191 (talk) 00:21, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- It's not hard to find them, even if they haven't aired in your area, if you take my meaning.
- If you're so concerned about referencing, why not just get rid of the "Featured Character" lists completely? It's not that relevant if you have the episode summaries. If you can't add cameos there's nothing to distinguish the list from the information already presented in the article. 75.67.199.191 (talk) 00:35, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- 1. If information gathered from watching the episodes can't be verified, then there's no point in having the "Featured Character" list, since they just present information that's already in the article.
- 2. Why claim authoritative knowledge on these episodes if you haven't even watched them? 75.67.199.191 (talk) 00:48, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- I don't actually know enough about Sonic to answer that.
- As far as the Thomas cameos, Oliver and Arthur were actually mentioned by name at least, not just in the background like, say, Trevor and George always are.75.67.199.191 (talk) 01:20, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- Yes, I know. But, hey, I'm just going alog with what's been going on with the Sonic articles. With all the "Policy cancels out everything else", "So, and so isn't notable for a list of characters since they're only in one game, excluding cameos", and whatnot. I'm starting to agree with that. Skeletal SLJCOAAATR Soul teh Hedgie 21:35, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Without knowing much at all about the Thomas thing (though I do catch it when watching TV with my littl'un) I think that if a minor character from previous seasons pops up here or there, it might be worth a mention (I wouldn't even really call it a "cameo" to be honest - imo "cameo" more typically refers to when an out-of-universe person pops in, like if say, Bob the Builder showed up in a Thomas episode). The Sonic cameo thing is probably a separate issue - Consensus specific to an article doesn't typically translate well to another, especially across genres like that. In any case, these are just off-the-cuff remarks, I just wanted to give you a heads up that you were heading for another notch on your log ;p –xeno (talk) 21:40, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- heh. Well, I (And all the Thomas articles) refer to just being there, and not doing anything to be a cameo. It's also pretty hard to find a reliable source saying that they cameoed in Season whatever. Since, I'm trying to revamp those articles with proper sources, and what not, I figured, hey, it's not like cameos are that notable, according to AMIB, Rob, TTN, and the rest of 'em, and I can see where they're coming from. Take a look at all of BioWare's press releases on their official webpage (www.bioware.com). You had (and should not have) reverted one of my edits on the Sonic RPG's article when I attempted to fix the proper CamelCase spelling of their company name. I trust you will research this and fix the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.28.80.14 (talk) 21:26, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Sega Project Newsletter: Issue 3
[edit]Wikipedia:WikiProject Sega/Newsletter/Issue3
Are you sure Official Nintendo Magazine gave the game an 8.0? Nintendo Power is the one that we can verify giving it an 8.0, hence it's in the infobox. ONM started out at 93%, but has been changed so many times I don't know what it actually is. Of course, not being cited, it doesn't help matters. Anyway, I ripped out the unsourced bit and have started a proper reception section which I will expand on when more reviews come in. SynergyBlades (talk) 01:35, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- The point I'm getting at was - not that it matters now I've removed it I suppose - are you confusing it with this one? Nintendo Power scan, which you'll notice in the reference section I linked to along with the cite journal template, just so people can see the scan as well as find the magazine details. I've yet to see an Official Nintendo Magazine scan, or any news on the score given (other than the supposed 93% it started out with). SynergyBlades (talk) 01:44, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I can only find some forum post about the 93% ONM review, but if we could get confirmation or a scan it would help, because it apparently details Eggman's playability status. SynergyBlades (talk) 01:49, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nintendo Project Died so I duel projected our project to make it kind of like two projects in one so we don't die aswel, both scopes are on different assessment scales so don't add Nintendo articles to our scope , I am still trying to get everything correct, template issues. They didn't get merged, Wikiproject Nintendo died and got deleted, So no longer existed so Wikiproject Sega restarted it again within Wikiproject Sega so we can get members so we don't die and get deleted too, both assessment scales are separate.Gaogier How can I help? 20:26, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay well our joint effort with adding Nintendo to a separate scope in the project may make the project last a few more months, after then everyone will have moved on the project will be abandoned due to lack of users and I cannot do things alone so then it will deleted, but as of now you can help on our inevitable spiral to deletion and help us stay up for a few more months hey :D. I think you misunderstood my post in the Sonic Unleashed article.
I KNOW that the guy above me posted that video but in the ARTICLE it said that it was going to be a feature length film but apparently it will only be a SHORT film. So in the end I CHANGED the part in the article where it said "feature length 3D animated movie" too "short 3D animated film" because THAT'S WHAT IT WAS GOING TO BE, but I found that out AFTER I made that topic.
But you thought I was just posting the video again for no reason, even when I wasn't.
Get your facts right. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mamaluigibob (talk • contribs) 10:00, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey!
[edit]I can edit things too! Why the heck did you mark me for false vandalism?
OKAY, LET'S CLEAR THINGS UP FOR THE USER WHO DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, THEN MARKED ME FOR MAKING A PERSONAL ATTACK EVEN THOUGH YOU INSULTED ME FIRST.
The night of the werehog section said that the movie was going to be a FULL LENGTH 3D animated movie, as in a 80 minute or so feature length film, but that is un true because on RELIABLE SOURCES on the INTERNET like IGN where the film was REPORTED in the FIRST PLACE the description said it was going to be a SHORT FILM. so I EDITED IT TO MAKE IT CORRECT.
However some weirdo who came out of no where personally attacked ME first and insulted me because you thought that I was posting the same video twice. But no matter how I could try to make you understand you didn't.
Then you personally insulted me with your message "are you blind?" and then I tried to make you understand AGAIN but I was really irritated with you. Then I got pissed but you marked me for making a personal attack on my profile.
Then you re-edited the page where I explained what I was talking about. WTF? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mamaluigibob (talk • contribs) 20:55, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:SilverRivals2.jpg.
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:52, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear WikiProject Video games member,
You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in recent months.
The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.
All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:
- Editing video game-related pages in the Article namespace
- Participating in video game-related discussions in the Project namespace (WT:VG, WP:AfD, WP:GAN, etc.)
Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. The file File:SLJCOAAATR logo.gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unused logo with no article used, it's also can't move to commons because of an unused logo will be deleted as of out of project scope.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Thanks for uploading File:Soul Sprite.gif. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 04:16, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
